GDF-11...and Erythropoietin....thoughts....

ad

title says it all people. This is at the forefront of science. is this the future? will we live forever with these 2 things? will body builders eventually be giants that live forever?

Epo In combination with altitude training can largely increase the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood, more O2, less CO2, better regulated local tissue pH in the extremities. Small cycle of Epo before altitude training is a more natural longer lasting blood dope.essentially blood doping is the cheaters way of doing what I suggest.

The Oxygen radicals can damage the genome and make transcription / translation less efficient. Or can make the cells cancerous (oncogenesis).Cellular respiration -> lactic acid (anaerobic) or H2O and CO2 and reactive oxygen species. if you havnt heard cancer never dies nigga! The cell loses the ability to regulate its metabolism and growth. And just does lots of glycolysis and makes straight lactic acid that has to be converted into glucose by the liver.

Sure I get that but again where does the epo come in to play...I'm not doubting you just asking you for a credible link to info and again how does this make bigger bodybuilding are you saying it could repair organ tissue making them more efficient therefore allowing the body to grow larger...because again there's still a limit based on the structure of a perfect average human heart and lungs etc....ie a perfect 100% functioning heart can only pump x liters of blood an hr therefore limiting muscle mass to x does epo or gdf-11 change that? Sure epo allow much oxygen per litre of blood but marginally to the point of not making much difference in a muscle mass battle and get-11 may allow more efficient organs but I'm still missing your point how does this get us anywhere and if it does where are you say I g this could get us to 330lb heavyweights or 400lbs

I mean are we talking perfect replication of grade a muscle cells meaning more efficient/bigger muscles...I think you're on to something here just connect the dots for us

The weight gain is bad on the skeleton and the joints. GDF11 is supposed to repair the organs, and activate the Forkhead box proteins that protect the genome from oxidative stress. Which then makes cellular respiration more safe.

Right because oxygen breaks down the mylan sheath causing failed/botched cell division and causing cancer and other growth defects...I'm on board with all of this I'm just still asking how this gets us to bigger bodybuilders I ask again is it just because they can lift longer into their life essentially staying younger longer due to a more perfect division and less chances of cancer and other deformities along with more perfect divisions of muscle and organizations tissues making a better stronger body...fill me in brotha

Pull the papers published from 2014 and no study was ever published beforehand. We're just now finding out about what these specific peptides do and the pathways they activate.

treadinontren's picture

Are you talking about epo or gdf11 or both I'm not disagreeing on the gdf-11 I think it's interesting and not enough is known yet to draw conclusions but what's epo got to do with it can you link me to the info

treadinontren's picture

Explain your reasoning... why would epo make us live longer or be giants...I'm not seeing a connection please fill me in

treadinontren's picture

Get-11 is still under studied and epo isn't on the forefront of science it's old news and has very little efffect of the average athlete or fitness enthusiast it will not make you live longer it actually has a much better chance of ending your life due to elevated rbc and strokes heart failure etc due to raised hematocrat and rbc...do I think one day weight lifterswill be giants...kind of...I already think people like kai Greene and Ronnie Coleman and those guys are close I think cell modification will be here one day but there's that tricky thing to deal with on the human body which is that for every 25lbs you go up over 200 it starts to put tremendous stress on the heart and other vital organs ie you don't see many body builders over 300 and it's because the body starts to downregulate itself at that size the heart and lungs and such can't keep up your reach a plateau where you can only eat so much and continue to workout and function...prime example is Jay Cutler dude is shrinking now...he still eats hard and works out hard but his body doesn't want to be that big anymore...one of the stupidest things I ever heard Jay Cutler say and there's a lot of stupid things he's said...was in living large they said how big do you think the human body is made to get and he says about as big as me...false...this is why he shrinking this is why he's on tons of drugs and has to eat crazy. .it's because a body isn't meant to be that big and it's trying to get back to a happy size

treadinontren's picture

So basically I think with cell doping as it's called if we can increase a hearts size and efficiency and lungs and the whole circulatory system and make things very efficient then you might see 400-500lb 7' tall guys but I think it's more likely that cell doping leads to guys who are 200-230lbs who are lean and cut but can lift 700lb benchs and 2000lb squats I think with cell doping we worry more about making every cell as productive as possible... making more efficient muscles where you need half as many to do twice the work but that's just my opinion... it just seems like this is the way to make performance athletes bulk just creates more problems
