+ 11 EROIDS DEPRECIATING?
MY title is in question form because obviously I'm not the Administration of the site and I'm not the only voice here. I have been a member however over a year and have poured my heart and soul into this board and something concerns me.
I asked myself "Is Eroids depreciating as of late?"
The question is legit and I'm asking you to chime in after I lay out why it is IMO.
We are a tight knit community, we have all defended Eroids somewhere on the net and all get pissed when someone bashes it right? So I ask "well why is that, why are we so protective of it?"
Most of that I guess is because we are so tight knit and family like. We do get irritated with one another like family will. In fact, I got irritated with someone last night and voiced that irritation but truth is I like this guy and he is a great memeber and friend, its family and we can voice to one another is the way I see it.
So heres my point and I'll lay out my argument and you tell me.
I ask you you step out and look in rather than having a closed mind and just defend your current opinion if you have one. Be final because you are right as opposed to right because you are final.
I've noticed far less posts in the steroid cycles area and I think I know why and I happen to think it may be doing more harm than good.
At some point in the recent past the boards have taken on a "attack the newb" mentallity. Now before you go to defending your own guilt or my guilt for doing these things hear me out.
A VERY good friend of mine here recently posted what he thought might be helpful advice in our cycle section. Rather than being diplomatically corrected on information our board has deemed innacurate, he was scorched. He had point deductions and was essentially called an idiot and not just once because the way the board is designed is a somewhat ranked member scorches you and then all the wanna be's come in behind like pupppets and tell someone how stupid they are as well trying to suckle the karma nectar off said ranked members sack.
Now this guy is not only a long time member, he has had to think outside the box for himself given certain well used compounds effect him in a very negative way.
This has over many months caused him to offer suggestions here and there to others thinking maybe he's not the only one thats going to respond negatively to certain comounds.
Again, rather than just a single diplomatic response to his outside the box thought, the whole "newer" community hammered his ass into the dirt, deducted karma and then even had the thread shut down as though he were an outcast to society.
Is that what Eroids is to you? Is that what we are becoming?
So heres the deal, this guy is not only one of the nicest people you will ever meet, he is someone who will extend a hand to anyone who asks and that included me a long time back. He is also a member of our US military and these people are a cut above the rest of us IMO, they actually walk into an office and volunteer to lay their lives on the line to protect this country.
Did I mention he has 2 degree's? Point is, this guy is damn good people and was treated like shit by this community.
I see more and more newb bashing and now its every fing day. Hell we even have a place you can go now and field dress your very own newb before you cut him up and pack him in the freezer for winter meals.
Yes, I understand the same old newb questions get old but no matter how many rants we make and post all over the site, dumb questions will be asked. I just don't want a newb that might feel as though he needs to ask a question to feel he may be scorched and the fact he didn't ask that stupid quesion it cost him his life.
I can tell you this, Aerok lost his and he came into a friendly environment, he was coached by a lot of compassion here and still went the wrong way. Yes, he was flamed a bit but not scorched off the board.
If you are to look back myself and hollywood, roid, Goth etc have done a little flaming, sometimes inapropriately but a little none the less. The one thing we had that s being lost however, is the respect to some degree of other opinions.
I know the board "thinks" all the science is in, there is a single protocol for every single stack that could be run and either you fit into that or your "wrong". I myself recently have changed my views on some hgh protocols, admitted that publicly. The reason I did is that I've never close my mind. I understand these things evolve and if my mind is closed I can't evolve with them.
So let me make the point her, I preferred a more open Eroids over what it is becoming. I preferred a cycles section that allowed opinion and some advice that might not fit into the perfect little protocol adopted here. I also preferred a community that had a more oppen mind and would not death squash suggestions that maybe 5 people have decided were to be "the" opinion. Its killing descent simply because its not "my" belief and when we do that we can't grow..
That closed mind is my big concern but my other concern is how we are beginning to welcome outsiders. They come from other boards often where they were scorched or just come in green from no board and IMO our goal should be to welcome them, help them, guide them to safety and befriend them, make them feel like family and we have a mixed message.
I go into introductions often and welcome a member and a couple days later might see the same new member get his asshole set on fire and sent out the door running down the streets looking for a dbol dealer so he can get his cycle underway.
My suggesgion is this, if you get frustrated with the same old first post BS get out of cycles for a while.
Eroids did just fine without you or I and will do so again for a few days until you can lose your frustration.
You don't have to run out and post a rant about how you will string the next newb that asks for stulid advice up by his balls. Just leave for a while, you are not "the glue" believe it or not.. i'm just saying we are losing our open arms reputation IMO and its not a good thing, in fact its pathetic if you ask me.
I would ask even ranking memebrs to rething what I call nazi type attacks to anything that does not fall into locfk step with your own opinion.
I even ask higher ups in the system as it were to give the new memebers of our family a little slack. Sometimes we act as though its the same guy asking the same dumb questions and often its not, its a new guy that just got his anus set ablaze for the last 90 newbs who asked a stupid question. No this poor guy didn't come in and read for 2 days straight and maybe he should have but since he didn't I see no reason to st him on fire, I can simply direct him to do so.
Maybe think of ourself working in administration somewhere and not being behind your keyboard. Think of these people as human beings and if they were to walk into your building and ask a question, would 10 people stand upp and just drill their ass to the wall? Of course not. So I'm asking espcially you guys who work cycles a lot, welcome people into ths site and community with open arms, if you don't want to yield dumb questions PM me and I'll handle them. You don't actually have to say everything that pops into your head and again, if you get frustrated maybe its time to take a day off. Thats my next concern, believe it or not, there are many many people here to help, maybe the wolrld won't come to an end if you don't have something to say in "EVERY SINGLE POST ON THE BOARD".. If you feel that need fine but its a quick way to get burned outand if you get burned out you get frustrated and that comes through in yyour words.
So thats my opinion, whats yours? Is Eroids better off today and in the long run being a caring community welcoming all memebers be it high intelligence or ignorant or are we better off just scorching the F out of anyone who is not in lock step with every command we give?
I get it guys/gals, we need structure, but when structure gooes beyond the greater good of the whole we have something that is ugly IMO.
I'm a loyal friend sorta guy and I don't make fun of those unlike me, I welcome them to broaden my own thinking and mind and maybe they are better as a result and I am too.
I'M NOT BASHING ANYONE BTW, I KNOW ALL YOU DO IS FROM THE HEART. I JUST THINK ITS TIME TO STEP OUT AND LOOK BACK IN FOR SOME SELF REFLECTION AND ASK IF THIS IS WHO WE WANT TO BE. If it is what the community wants then so be it, I'ma democracy kinda guy too but maybe its time to rethink at l?east and make sure our direction is proper. I love you all so this is froma good place, not angry just a little frustrated.
"HOWEVER"....If you are someone asking the same damn question over and over just in different ways until you get the answer you want, I'll be the guy leading the charge when we torch you.

56tooWell I got about two paragraphs into my rant and decided its probably better to not say anything. But I certainly agree with you Tread. I remember when I first joined there was a guy with the user name "Mr. Abby"who not only wass very knowledgable but very willing to share it without judging. There are people here, you, Vike, who obviously know your shit, have always been willing to share your knowledge without looking down your nose. Two other guys here who you can just look at them and know they know their shit who have voiced their opinions of my posts, in a stern BUT respectful ways because they disagreed with what I had said. Nothing wrong with that, I have much respect for that. Now the ones that fly in there like vultures except that instead of trying for the meat directly they try to stick their beaks through the main vultures asshole to get to the prey,THAT I have NO respect for.

Good post brother. I think back to when I first joined Eroids some of the PM's that I sent you and Vike were pretty rediculous and worthy of a ball busting, but not once did either of you bust my ass for any of it. You just asked for naked photos and continued to take questions with patience and a smile. Hell, the only reason I came to these boards was because I heard steroids shrunk your weiner, and I was looking for a cheap alternative to weiner reduction surgery. Now I'm a full blown professional body builder and Cage Fighter.
All bullshit aside you fellah's and others helped me along answered my questions and NEVER made me feel like a dipshit even though I am. I think I even asked Vike once if I could smoke Halo with my meth and he gave me a sincere answer without reaching through the screen and choking me. (Now I know that I need a testosterone base before I smoke it.)

Has eroids really changed that much? This has really always been the case. Many forget or maybe dont realize that eroids is NOT a BB site. We offer ourselves to a wide demographic especially the noobie in hopes to indoctrinate them safely and properly.
Many of you couldn't appreciate my particular style while I was a MOD but it served a purpose. Dealing with and trying to maintain order within the ranks of 100's (1000's?) of juiced up Alphas is a difficult task. Now seeing that eroids has been growing exponentially since its inception I charge that even though the problem is seemingly growing, percentage wise its still within its original margin.

tread-mWell while I luv you like family I disagree to an extent. You and I may hammer a little in the day as it were but I'm seeing a degree of "hate" off and on. Its not from a bad place even though I say hate. It is caring in a way I deem non-productive. I do appreciate the post though because I like all opijnions. So if I'm to keepp tabs, you believe scorching a first time poster asking shit info is a good thing or did I mis-read? I think I liked some of your Mod style btw but I also think the board is just as smooth under the more diplomatic order of say bodybuilder. Having said that, you had some serious shit to deal with off and on and boards got way out of hand on more than one occassion so much respect there knowing you did what had to be done. My point is not about those creating chaos though, its about a simplebfirst time dumb question by where we have a choice. Try to help or humiliate?
You totally misread my man. I come (and have always come) from a place of maintaining the integrity of eroids as a place of learning. I come from a place of "protect the young". I was such a hard ass as a MOD as to keep the peace. As to not allow the stronger personalities dominate the weaker. My point being was that here on eroids this issue has been continual.
Sociologically speaking when any culture comes to light they are forced into interdependency for the sake of survival (just like us original eroiders in the beginning). As cultures grow that interdependency diminishes and the cultures split into subcultures which will inevitably clash. Now obviously a unified culture is stronger than a splintered one but where in human history has that actually taken place?
tread-mPerfect sense.....I do think in reference I would say, the tribe has a duty to protect its core from the splinters. The splinters have the ability to branch and do as they please but to change the origin of the tribe is not within their power unless the raw numbers via democracy support those ideas. In this specific case I don't think the raw numbers from a democratic standpoint support the change within, maybe splintered but not within. Which brings us back to ypour original statement which is one I argued with my Mom once. She was talking about how much wolrse crime is now than in the 50's. I argued its probably not as bad, just more people but per capita actually better. So I guess either side of the debate you still fight the crime to serve the greater good. Look, I don't want one volice I want many and maybe the largest part of my argument is that we are adopting a closed minded policy. It is here is the one and only cycle for your particular place in standing and if you don't use it or if you are a newb asking a stupid question you will be cast out. Its not always the case but I just see it growing. Even if its growing at the same rate of poulation increase we have a confined space unlike the world by where the crime can spread over the land and a given area has x amount of crimes per square foot. We actually are seeing a greater number of problems within limited sq footage which does actuallu increase the infractions if you will withina given space. I don't disagree with your points necessarily though but I do think to at minimal ascribe to a kinder way is not a bad thing. It will nevr be perfect as you lay out but to slow depreciation or even get a little better is not out of reach entirely. As to you, the board has grown with you and in part because of you so thats not a bad thingm. I would not compare you way of thinking or operation to my point above though, I think they are different topics actually.

Sometimes I feel it in my gut as I'm typing. I'm guilty sometimes. I can say things in such a way that it sounds arrogant or dismissive. It's not right. A lot of that comes from frustration. The same shit over and over! You all know want I'm saying. I think for the most part I try to negotiate , or get them to look at it from my perspective without flaming. We are all imperfect. But posts like this are the glue that hold the foundation of this board together. Brothers there to pick each other up when need be. We should all take a long look at ourselves now and then. I don't think there are many bad ppl here if any. Just imperfection. The human condition.

I'm new on this board, and don't come from any other boards, so this is my first experience with this type of community. There is so much more than can be learned by focusing on other forums besides supplier introduction, general talk, and off topic. maybe it's time for me to learn a thing or two and lurk on the cycle boards. Right now the only advice i can offer that comes from personal experience is with Test E and TNE and even then i'm not an expert.
What i have a problem with, is certain people that have no cycle experience whatsoever, as in never touched AAS in their life, being extremely vocal in offering advice. That is the essence of parroting, they have no personal experience with what they are talking about, and unless they are an MD or a scientist that has researched anabolic steroids, i don't think they should be offering advice on the boards.

I will say parroting is a problem but with deep research at least maybe the do no harm which is nice. End of the day I'm like you, if going to base jump for the first time, I want that guy who's done it 1000 times beside me, not the guy that wrote a book on the aerodynamics of it but has never done it! I couldn't agree more brother! I know how it feels to want to help and jump on as many threads as I could. Then exactly as u said I got burned out. It was bad. Crash n burn kind of burn out. I quit posting almost entirely. It's not worth it to me. I only post now when I feel the Op really needs help or I just personally want to. I know that at one point I didn't know jack shit wither. Guys like u and NastyNate and Viking n Sarge took the time to answer my PMs. Then I met Grrrl. Grrrl schooled me on Eroids 101. How to be a contributor. How to diet. How to conduct myself on this great forum. Honestly I hope I'm not coming off like I'm not guilty of some of the things u say. But I do know I will kill myself trying to be part of the solution. Viking and I have spoken recently on keeping a tighter reign on the warzone tactics in the forums. It has no place here. Nobody wants to read that bullshit everyday. We've had to shut down more than a few threads in the last week. Maybe guys will get a clue when we pull em aside and have a heart to heart. If that doesn't work maybe a timeout will do the tick. I hope it doesn't come to that. Either way the fact that you my brother feel this way truly upsets me. U my friend are the heart of this site and it's members conscience. It's a sad day that it's come to this. Let's all be part of the solution guys. Let's hear what Tread is saying and get back to helping rather than lynchin noobs.

I know some of these guys need a chewing no doubt but it has sorta become the norm and if you figure the brand new guys are watching and learning and I was hoping they don't learn thats the way we do it, flame first ask questions later..lol. i do have a grea deal of appreciation for the young guys that come in and know their stuff and they read and read and read but lets face it, most of these guys look to us when it gets down to it. Sorry for being late in here my brother i have just finished doing my daily review scan {new job}... not happy about my best friend being upset it makes me upset!..GS has outlined our plan to kill the war zone attitude that seems to be taking the cycles pages... i have already mentioned those boards are my babies.. EDIT! our pages when we rode together as butch and sundance lol..i know you have a massive passion for that section also which took us both into a 20hrs pr wk PM schooling with guys we adopted from first post advice... results have created from this approach i.e our EBC contenders all did fantastic from PM schooling taking them to levels of info that just dont even get mentioned daily on the boards because one on one takes time and patience..like you have previously mentioned when just guy says the BIG THANKS! it makes it all worth it.
To make you smile one of my guys brian316 who did the EBC cutter and did very well let me say wanted to get big and mass up so we sorted out the new bulk diet and changed the routine to a full compound heavy set up... all going great right!

We all have the ability to break and I don't judge you when you do like I know you don't judge me. Trust e I had an all out melt down on a guy once here, well twice. Not who I am bujt I snapped. One had blamed me for all his lifes problems and the other bashed 3 of my closest friends here (grrrl,pope and Greg). So I dropped 4 hrs of point deductions and bashing on him and got my asshole shredded by the top. I'd do it again today if it cost me a Ban. Friends first, everytbing else is tied for second! Lol
zewiI can understand that.. I see the down fall in what your saying. However, i do see a lot of passion from vets and gurus.. It just inst coming out the way that it should. When helping a fellow brother(noob)... We tend to forget if a site like this was around in are day we would be coming to this site asking the same questions.
I would say your perspective on this issue is accurate. Having only been a member for around for months, I have definitely witnessed a decline in the quality of response members receive when asking a question. I am sure this is frustrating to vets because they perceive it as a lack of effort in the attempt to learn. In reality, people are using this community as a resource to learn and understand aas. Teaching someone does not only entail telling them they are wrong. To teach effectively you need to provide the necessary tools and information that are needed to make an informed decision. There is no member here who started knowing everything. So i guess it comes down to, if you aren't part of solution you are part of the problem. Before posting a reply you should ask yourself is my response beneficial to the situation...I am not sayIng you should not tell someone they are wrong, you should also explain why
i have to agree with you 100% on this one. this site is not the same as when i first join. i've seen newbs come on here in a very respectful way with a fair amount of knowledge and still get hammered by members. i think if this doesn't stop, no one will want to become a member here on eroids

Thing is, I'm a tough love guy I know stern has to come on occassion but I think it has its time and place and the first post you make is not it. I'M GUILTY OF THIS BROTHER.
i just think when giving an advise, it should be for personal experience. that way we all be in a even playing field.

I've never really been anti-newb unless they guy comes on here and is specifically looking for an argument or is being an asshole. But I think you're right Tread, and I think we could help eroids a great deal if the community would loosen up a little and be more receptive to new members.

BostonIve been seeing alot of this lately too tread. Its not fair. We all gotta start somewhere, ya know? I think this place makes a great place to learn as long as we are always thoughtful and respectful of others.
AnonI can only speak for my self here, but before I joined this site I was reading the threads as a non member on this and a couple of others. I noticed the same on every one, which is stupidity is not tollerated very well on any of them. Now that is not to say a person is stupid, but often in haste stupid questions can be asked. Just as haste can cause an over reaction to a stupid question. But by the simple nature of being a newb the chances of doing something stupid are high. As a veteran or expert I imagine they hear the same question over and over again so I can see it being frustrating, but perhaps my advice there would be just to allow everyone their moment of stupidity now and again, and judge us newbs not on that one mistake, but whether we seem to be learning and growing our in our knowlege.
