I get some pretty bad ones and meds dont always help right away. Does anyone else have a way of dealing with this and training?

I have been given Maxalt (disolvable tabs)
Helps mine in just a few minutes...it has never not worked for me.. however they are a very pricey tablet!! Although with that type of pain it's money well spent..
Come to think of it I haven't had one in over 2 years and it's been two years that I've been on HRT
I get about one a month. Imitrex helps, but still takes time to kick in, and I'm usually out.
Going through same problem and it is turning worst.
I've suffered migraines since I was young. It wasn't until a few years ago that I finally got a proper diagnosis. I'm missing the first vertebra in my neck - the C1 - so the weight of my head pushes on my occipital nerve which causes my constant headaches. Missing a vertebra is not at all common, but pinched nerves can be. I put ice packs on my neck for relief which i always find helps. I've also focused a lot on my posture and keep a neck brace on while watching tv (to prevent me from slanting my head to the sides). If anyone thinks the pain is originating in the neck, i definitely recommend try those things to see if it helps.
Mp859I've had them on and off for a while. Recently I had one and it would not go away. They told me it was a tension headache this time. Gave me a shot in my ass of something and some oxygen and it slowly subsided.
I have a migraine from time to time BUT i love her.... But all kidding aside my ex used to suffer from bad migraines. My doctor used to prescribe me (toprimate) for her
it is thought that migraines are related to hormone levels stress and cortisol
You know, since I started with testosterone I have only had a couple and those were mild in severity. I used to get them first when I was a teenager, I always thought I was sick to my stomach and whatever it was I had ate caused it. To this day I still will not eat bagels after a migraine I had when I was 13,lol. I didn't get them for 8-10 years again until I was in my late 20's and then they came back with a vengeance. My main trigger is stress, as long as I keep it under control I am usually ok.
I've dealt with them most of my life. I've found a few meds that help a little, but you just have to wait for it to pass. You need to find out what's causing/contributing to them as well. I'm boarder line and if I don't keep my food up, I can get a migraine. I have to stay away from simple sugars and carbs. I get a nasty rebound.
Ive noticed certain foods do the same to me. Chocolate, red wine, some pastas. I dont eat any of it but lately i get 1-2 a week. Finally went to doc since i needed more things and she just says to avoid the triggers. Didnt think about the amount of food in my diet tho.
For me I almost always get a warning it is coming, whether it be numb finger tips, a flash of light in the corner of my eye, or just plain eyes going screwball. If you can get to a redbull or a cup of strong coffee and shotgun it fast enough sometimes it can head the headache off at the pass before it takes hold.
X2 if I can get some exedrin in me as soon as my vision starts getting wiggy I can usually prevent em. Certain foods and flourocent lights like in certain grocery stores trigger me so I where sunglasses in the grocery store
My eyes mess up right before too. I havent shotgunned redbull or coffee but definitely going to try it next.
Mines more blood sugar and not traditional trigger foods. Sorry you're getting them biweekly. Also, meds can give you rebound headaches and it's a nasty cycle. Try to take a little as possible and none of you can. Get checked out fully by your doc as well.
As I've gotten older, my headaches has decreased. I know consistent exercise has been a key as well.
I agree 100% on the rebound, or migraine hangover ( I like to call them). The best thing to do is just bury your head in the pillows in a dark room and ride it out, unfortunately.
Hangover sounds about the right words to describe it
How long do yours last? Mine are usually 4-6 hours but have had them for longer. An old buddy of mine used to get them for 2-3 weeks at a stretch. It is no wonder he eventually murdered his wife before the cops took him down... True story bro
Usually about 10-12 hours. I have had one last 3 days. Worst 3 days i ever had. Was in dark room in bed most the time. A friend actually came by and gave me weed to try and it stopped a couple hours later but i dont know if it really was from that or just time it ended.
Weed helps me a little but nothing is going stop them once they get rolling. Truthfully if I can hold them down I will take anything I have available and hope it knocks me out. Most of the time that still don't work. I give you credit tho, I am not sure I could hang for three days...
