Any Golfers in the house?
Iv'e been dabbling in golf for several years , I never could quite get my swing down correct so I would lose interest and move on to new hobbies but I always made my way back to Golf its just such a challenge for me I love it.
A little over a year ago I decided that I was going get my swing right or go crazy trying, one day it just clicked the mechanics of it made since to my body and boom I was playing Golf, not well mind you but still I was making solid contact with the ball and hitting it straight on a regular basis. Over the past year my swing muscle memory has built up and now I'm able to start shaping my shots and controlling my distance much more consistently.
It really is a fun game I look forward to playing it on the weekends like I used to look forward to partying , for me it is therapeutic for my mind its relaxing and very challenging at the same time, the group of guys I play with say its unfair how quickly I picked up the game. I tell them to get there asses in the gym and work on there core strength, that is the secret to a great golf swing core strength and being athletic to begin with you know having over developed fast twitch muscles does help a little .

Definitely not my game. I came up watching too much happy Gilmore. I think I’m gonna crush it, and it hooks 3 holes to the left. Next thing you know, 20 old bastards are flipping me off. Some little girl walks up, and gently sails the ball right where she wants it. I’m not good for anything but laughs out there. I’ve even tried the turn my body 45 degrees to the right. Doesn’t matter. Whatever is far to the left is where I’m going.
I love playing golf just have a hard time finding the time
I love it the only thing is I’m shit faced by the 18th hole.
lol bro your damn right, its a beer a hole on the front 9 after that I start losing count.
I know I'm lit when I try to tee off with my putter.
Tough game to even be decent at lol. I played a lot of baseball so the firing of the hips and squashing the bug gives me one helluva slice. I would love to get my swing straight just haven’t played enough to do so. All of my buddies play so I try about every 3 months and get pissed off and throw the clubs back in the closet. I need to hook up and practice more consistently. You are correct though it’s a fun game especially with a couple buddies. It definitely teaches you how to deal with frustration Hahahah
I like golf. I don’t go enough to call myself a golfer though. I was going like every other week for a year or 2, then my golfing partner (a buddy from work) got into BJJ and I lost him to his dojo or whatever it’s called in that sport.
Since then I’m down to like 2-3 times a year. Bums me out. None of my other buddies golf, so it’s just whenever I can make it out with my brother or father in law.
I’m ok for someone that’s bad at golf lol. I’ll be between 100-108 typically. If I break 100 it’s a great day but rare. My short game is pretty good, but I gotta work on my putting. And my drives are typically super far, like really far, (at least for a bad golfer... like 280-300 yards plus when I’m on my game), but they only go straight like 60% of the time. The other 40% start straight then take a 90° turn and end up 3 holes to the right never to be seen again lol
lol yea My drives used to do the same, matter of fact I stopped hitting driver for a while because I couldn't control it. Spent several hours at the driving range getting it under control, If I hit about 70- 80% power I can split the fairway most of the time , its when I try for the 300yd carry It starts turning towards the trees.
jayiskGolfing in Philly?..,isnt that were you beat someone with a putter when they cut you off driving or they are wearing a Yankees jersey...,lol
that’s just how we practice, and more so on Mets jerseys lol. There’s actually like 4-5 public courses that the city owns, but I mostly go out to the burbs where it’s nice and no one was shooting up on the 11th hole the night before.
Why's that? Do they lock the door to the windmill?
Go Mets!
You’re the pits
