A.R.T. for Nagging Injuries

ad

Over the years of training for sports and bodybuilding I've acquired my fair share of injuries. A lot of it had to do with that feeling of invincibility when you're younger, but father time kicks everyone in the ass at some point.

One thing that I recently incorporated to my recovery and functionality is some therapy involving Active Release Techniques. Previously I mainly would do 1 or 2 deep tissue massage therapy sessions a month. This helped to a great degree, but I just had some areas that couldn't be alleviated with massage. I used active release to break up scar tissue around the rhomboid/trap area. The tissue was so dense/scarred and probably receiving poor blood flow. There was enough nerve impingment there to drive me insane on a daily basis. I also used this therapy to recover from a partial pec tear and to assist in gaining back some range of motion that I once had as an athlete, but lost when I started training for aesthetics instead of functionality.

To make a long story short, this therapy is the real deal. I would highly recommended it to anyone suffering from injuries that just seemingly never go away. I'm fairly lucky to have a highly qualified A.R.T. specialist in my area.
