500lbs Deadlift at 190lbs
Been hovering between 187-190lbs
I was like well I got 20min to workout fuck it do for some deadlifts.
Wide leather back brace has been working great along with some chalk.
A while ago I think gymjunkie or someone had a rant about lifting straps possibly hurting your Deadlifts so I said fuck it lose the straps and try the chalk.
Losing the straps has been working wonders.
1st set 135lbs 8 reps
2nd set 225lbs 6 reps
3rd set 315lbs 2 reps
4th set 405lbs 1 rep
5th set 500lbs 1 rep new personal record and was able to hold that shit at the top for like 2 good Mississippi's hahaha! It was actually a smooth rep I could possibly do a a little but 500lbs is pretty intimidating I've seen to many when the shit goes wrong videos hahaha!
Would like to thank the good bros at Eroids that pretty much share Pro info for free. The nutrition section has taught me how to gain being a hardgainer.
Also pause reps and negatives have helped me in the strength department as well.

Bro that's awesome good job. I know that shit felt great. I also know them ah shit moments. The first time I hit 500 last year my bros where hyping me up and where all up behind me screaming don't drop that shit don't drop that shit well after about 2 3 seconds I dropped it alright then it dropped me I still got a scare on my forehead where I hit the mirrow on the wall. Keep it homie.
Awesome!

Damn that one dude arm wrestling just watching it tear almost made me cry I think I need to go dose my ar.
Chalk and a mixed grip is better than straps but I always go overhand now because I hate that pulling feeling on the underhand bicep. Heard too many horror stories. Chalk is like god damn glue
Have you tried hook grip? Much stronger than mixed grip and safer on the bicep tendon.
Yo D, you mean mixed grip, right? I've seen that vid too
I've always used a mixed grip. Had to look the hook grip up. I'm def gonna give it a try. Doesn't it hurt your thumb going heavy? That was just my first thought when I saw it.
Don't get me wrong, I have pretty masculine thumbs and all, just wondering. Lol
It takes some getting used to. It's great for heavy shrugs too. It doesn't "hurt" hurt but it's somewhat uncomfortable at first. I think you'll be surprised.
I've seen the bicep tear videos on YouTube from hook grip deadlifts scares me everytime
Fantastic! Holding it at the top is badass. I saw a video with Ed Coan for Supertraining not too long ago where he pulls some ungoldly amount of weight, holds it, looks to his left, looks to his right, then, like he's holding nothing at all, says: "all day..."
Love hearing about deadlift PRs!
Guys like him and Eddie Hall make me feel like I don't lift shit hahaha!
Eddie Hall's documentary on Netflix is excellent if you haven't seen it.
Good shit bro. I still use straps like a little girl for anything over 315.. +1
All good homie your good 315 ain't little girl weight.
Hook grip, brah. You'll never go back.
You're right about that hook grip to game changer.
I use snatch grip for warm up sets but when the shit gets serious I'ma hook that bitch
