+ 2 Hair loss question

ad

I was prescribed spironolactone 100 mg twice daily for hair loss as a result of testosterone use. I started anavar and am continuing on testosterone. I've stopped taking spironolactone as it shouldn't be taken with anavar. I'd appreciate a recommendation for an oral medication that prevents hair loss related to testosterone that doesn't work against anavar. Topical agents don't seem strong enough to prevent hair loss. Not sure if it's relevant or not, but I'm also taking DHEA 10 mg daily. I'd rather not lower my test dose as I feel better at a higher level. I'd appreciate advice on this subject.

You can try finasteride or dutasteride if your hair loss is due only to testosterone. I tried finasteride but I couldn't tolerate it due to the mental sides. Since topicals are also terrible in my experience, I have pretty much resigned myself to a bald spot that at least doesn't seem to be getting worse since I use less testosterone than I did in the past and I no longer do dirty bulks.

Thank you! I appreciate the help. Have you noticed if the liquid appears greasy on your hair?

If you are genetically predisposed to male pattern baldness, no oral medication will prevent that once you start AAS. Save your $ up and look into hair transplant if going bald is that concerning to you, or don't use any AAS, especially DHT derivatives which is notorious for hair loss. There's really no way around it if you are genetically predisposed to it. What do you like more....hair or muscles? Some guys can blast all the gear and still walk around with hair, others aren't so lucky. Genetics. Good luck

Thanks for the reply. I thought I posted in the ladies' forum. I'll specify that I'm a woman in my post. I didn't have any hair loss until I started testosterone. Spironolactone helped tremendously but shouldn't be taken with Anavar. I'm not sure what my other options are.

Not a lady but Anavar is a DHT derivative and will cause hair loss in high enough doses. I would love to weigh in on this more but, the lady body and hormone reaction with AAS, is an absolute enigma to me.
