Hello everyone,

I've been reading and learning a lot from this site over the past few weeks and finally decided to join/register. I'm 41 and I've been painfully thin my whole life, had to get a waiver to join the Marine Corps when I was 18 because I only weighed 118lbs at 5'9" lol.

I've never been able to stay consistent with weight training until now. I started a routine from a site called Fitness Wiki, it's a version of GSLP, and added accessory exercises from 5/3/1 Beginners. I'll stay on the routine for another month then I'm going to switch to a six day a week PPL program, most likely the version listed on the Fitness Wiki site.

Right now I'm about 160lbs, 5'11". My ultimate goal would be to get to 200lbs or so (a Frank Zane like physique would be ideal). Looking forward to continuing my education here and maybe in a few months I'll run a cycle, assuming by then I'll have a good base of knowledge.

Yeah absolutely. I'll most likely run that basic cycle that's stickied in one of the forums, just test and dbol probably. I'm eating like a fat guy so hopefully I'll be up to 170 or 180lbs before I start a cycle.

You can get a lot from just test. Test only cycles are great to start. You want to see how your body reacts to one compound before running two. Otherwise how can you tell what’s doing what or pinpoint where bad side effects are coming from. Test and DBol may work well together but you have to be aware that DBol aromatizes just like testosterone which means you may end up dealing with high estrogen issues. Fortunately from what I can tell I’m not super sensitive to increased estrogen. But you may be basically you won’t know till you give it a go. Long story short see how you react to testosterone alone and have a proper PCT protocol lined up. Check out my first cycle log. It went extremely well with huge gains on test only. Also remember orals like DBol are hard on you liver.

Nice so you put on around 20lbs total, will be interesting to see how much of that you can keep. Read a post by Makwa (I believe that's how you spell it lol) saying diet and training intensity is how to keep the gains you've attained while on cycle (minus the weight you lose due to glycogen loading/water weight), some really interesting stuff.

How long have you been lifting weights? Saw your starting lifts for squats, bench press, and deadlifts. You were only doing 135lbs for bench/squats and 250 for deadlifts? Must have been repping the shit out of those weights lol. I can't wait until I switch to a PPL 6 day program, should be more hypertrophy focused which is what I'm after anyway.

Diet and training are key big time. You have to have it dialed in if you want to get the most out of a cycle. If you half ass the training or diet there’s no point in taking anabolic so you have to make the commitment to yourself. I am a big fan of PPL 6 days. On gear this was no issue for me as recovery times are very high. I train with loads of time under tension and higher reps with very slow negatives Makwa has been a big help he is great! Listen to the man! Haha. The hard part is when you come off for PCT. Just keep the mission in mind and just keep grinding! I have found this is key for your recovery, just keep placing your body under the same stress and it will have to kick start those nuts!! I still train like I’m on gear just instead do 3 day PPL with one day off in between each 3 day split. My PCT sucked real bad for about a week then my energy stabilized. It’s all mental even though your going to feel at times like saying fuck it just hang in there develop those positive habits and you will keep a lot of what you gain assuming your not over your genetic ceiling. I have been off T for 2 months and I’m still make progress its just much slower but the key is I have not gone backwards.

Ah good to know, thanks. Although, I was kind of looking forward to using Dbol for the first 4-6 weeks from what I've been reading about the effects lol.

I used sustanon back in my 20s but had no idea what I was doing. My workout routine was jacked up, wasn't eating enough, etc. Only benefit I had was an increase in strength. I'm determined to do it right this time.

Shit if I gain 30-40lbs on the first cycle I may never do another haha.

Advice is to Keep it to one new substance at a time. That way if you start to get sides, you know what caused it, and how to react.
