New to the community
Hey everybody, I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. I'm 25yrs old 6'1" 180lbs. I've been striving to become the perfect version of
Myself for quite a while now. I've mostly
Dabbled in cognitive enhancers but I am now on the journey to become in top physical condition. I've always been lean, never had too much muscle mass although when working construction I did create a nice cut figure. I am an ex drug addict so I have a very obsessive personality which is now being applied to better myself which I'm proud of because I spent a long time destroying myself. I've been clean for around 2 yrs and constantly strive to improve myself to keep my mind away from using. The biggest issue I've had with
Getting in top physical shape is getting motivated to hit the weights. I get in this mindset that "I'm not gonna make any gains anyway" " I'll work out tomorrow" "im just to tired" which is just a lie I have previously told myself. I am determined to make obvious gains. I am tired of being ran over by my piers that are stronger and more confident tHan me. I'm tired of woman not giving me a second
Glance, and most of all I'm tired of being a quieter! I'm going to do this and ANY SUPPORT will help me and be very much appreciated. i hope to get to know the community better and make
Some good friends in this journey.

@Irishsteve87. Thanks, that's some awesome info! I will download the app and start on a new diet today! The protein shake + blitzed up oatmeal sounds like a good place for me to start as it will be easier to get down. Thanks a lot, I will report back in a few weeks with my progress.
Irishsteve87, thank you so much for the support and information!! So after reading up on the links you provided I see some major issue with my diet I need to improve. In particular I'm only been eating 2 meals a day plus whey protein 1x ( 1scoop =30grams protein )anything more than that I feel like I am "force feeding" myself.. Is this common among you all that eat up to 6 meals a day?
It wasn't always, like yourself I hadn't a huge appetite and used to eat few meals a day but after reading up here it's very important to eat frequent meals, it keeps the metabolism moving, at first it was torture for me trying to eat so much, by the time I had forced one meal down I was preparing myself for the next, protein shakes helped loads here, 2 of my meals were protein shakes with blitzed up oatmeal, easy to get down and full of good carbs and protein, struggle through it a month or 2 and it becomes easier, the bigger you get the bigger your appetite will get and youll no longer have to force the food down, the diet is where I was going wrong at first aswell, that and the fact that I'm very active meant I wasn't at a calorie surplus very often, theres an app called myfitnessplan I'd recommend ya getting and logging everything you eat and use that TDEE post from Makwa to find out how much you need to be eating, do up a rough diet yourself and go onto Catalysts diet clinic and he can help you polish it up
Welcome bud! My advice would be to find motivation within yourself and not through acceptance from others, those things will come naturally as your confidence grows, your confidence will grow from setting yourself personal goals and achieving them, don't judge yourself based on what others are achieving, work to be better than the person you were yesterday and not anyone else, you might be a slow gainer like myself, best advise is to eat like a horse, there's loads of posts here I found very helpful, here's 2 in particular that helped me loads
