What’s up everyone, I feel like my intro is a bit overdo at this point so here goes.

Started working out back in 2016 and immediately fell in love with the gym. Worked out consistently for a couple years until last year when I fell into a deep depression due to work stress. That was the first real break I had taken from the gym and was uncharacteristic of me. I had no motivation for anything, not even to get out of bed in the mornings. As I fell deeper into the depression I turned to alcohol to cope with my feelings. Unfortunately, that led to self harm, too.

I got tired of being tired and depressed so I sought help. Got prescribed an SSRI and went to therapy weekly for an hour. My therapist helped me bring myself out of the alcoholism and I began working on my mental state. After a grueling couple months of major progress my therapist wanted me to start going to the gym again, so I did. Naturally, the alcoholism turned me into an even fatter version of myself so I began to lose weight.

Despite feeling better mentally and emotionally, I still dragged ass and had very little motivation to do even the slightest thing like brush teeth. My therapist recommended I get my blood drawn, turns out my test was 344. I ended up self prescribing TRT at (foolishly) 300mg a week, got bloods 4 weeks after starting and my test was at 1776.

I have since been lowering my dose to find what works best for me to get me to a normal range. Needless to say I am doing phenomenal now and I am happy to be alive. I have gone from roughly 30%bf to 17 now in a couple months and plan to continue this path for a bit longer.

Welcome to the community! First tip I’m going to give you is if you’re doing this on your own, get a complete blood panel done, throw the prostate test in there too. You’re better off knowing baselines.
