Well My Gyms thinned out again...

ad

So this weekend was the first time this year I could run through my program without waiting, altering, or changing up my workout.

I am generally a very nice and encouraging guy. I try to help the new comers, and not show any frustration. because we all had a first day in the gym. I just don't understand, why come for 2-3 weeks and stop.

For every 100 that start off the new year with a new schedule it seems only 3-4 stay with it. I wonder why? I know its an addiction for most of us. We don't feel right without it in our lives. But if you can come for 2-3 weks you can stick with it. For most people just 3 days a week makes a huge difference in health and the way they feel and look.

But off my tangent, because I know I don't do everything I should do. Anyone else notice thier gyms thinned out quickly this year, or are they still packed?

Most people are deluded, especially the younger kids IMO. They come in thinking that a few weeks of some basic exercises and they are going to be buffed.

Then the truth hits em! This is hard work, long term and not for the wooses. Most give up after achieving very little! Very sad, but you will find that very few people can really get this done at a high level.

I was surprised this year that there wasn't more new people at my gym. In years past, it's been fairly crowded with the newbies and re-starters. I would say this year was about half of those who usually start. I'm happy for me, but think it's a little sad that more don't want to get into shape.

If you really think about it, its crazy how that happens, I mean I give props to the people who start, trying to better themselves and continue on with it, i'll applaud that but for the people that go just to socialize and bullshit and then leave a few weeks later, its just like wtf, you dead weight mother f*ckers taking up time and space.
But surprisingly this year, It was only packed on the first day of the new year. Like wtf, It felt like I was at an amusement park waiting in line for a ride and then after that initial day. It went all back to normal. Ha, I guess some people forget what its like being sore. I'm sure i'll see them again next year (:

I work out at 5:30am. There are like 5 people in there when I go. One new guy joined so it's getting pretty crazy in there now since the new year

My old shithole sweat box gym got bought out by a chain recently. It sucks. They even put in a water fountain. It's been crazy the last couple weeks. This weekend actually wasn't bad, and tonight was the first Monday in forever that everyone and their grandma wasn't trying to do chest. Normally I refuse to work chest on Monday. My schedule alternates to my plan, so it's never a set weekday for a body part. I'll normally hit a double before I attempt a Monday chest day. Now mine is tomorrow and I have a feeling that's where everyone is going to be. Lol.
I can't complain about the influx of scenery, but I can do without all the elbow bumping and people trying to talk.

My favorite though are the high school kids who go because they might be the strongest at there school but they get upset when they see others doing way more and slowly stop coming

LOL. Better yet my girl did a couple kids max for reps. They were pretty embarrassed. Bc she's not big at all.

That's the funny thing is when I set up the bench I always do a set of 4 with like 135 to make sure the bench is evenly spaced each side I don't have it to far in or out just to test the waters. They want to lift with me then for my first official set with 405-465 they loose it and I have to be on something. If I feel weak some days I'll do like 405 for 6-8 but strong days I do 465 for 3-4 last rep spotter helps me if I have one. They are completely lost why we are around the same stats but they can't do that. Well I have been lifting for 11 years and you have for 6months it simple takes time and practice. Just because you are 6 foot and 250-260 doesn't mean you can just lift whatever haha the world now days

This HS kid the other day asked me to spot him on flat dumbbell press, he grabs the 40's, puts them up half way and boom hits himself in the face....he shoulda grabbed the 15's....haha felt kinda bad, but shit there to spot not do it for you

I hope were talking kgs not lbs lol. The deluded of world have discovered gyms unfortunately.

Their's a few kids at my gym but I don't even entertain the idea of offering up any help or advice these days, I will more than happily if they ask me on the other hand tho, at least this way it feels more like they'll take on board the help.

I agree I am am currently transferring to a different gym and it is a lot larger than my last gym but even know is a 30,000 sf gym from December- first two weeks of this year during peak hours was around 150 now the past week week and a half is 80. My other gym which is small and private about 5,000 sf there are currently 228 members but during premium hours you will se max 8-10 people. I can't believe how many near year member I talked to that said they seen the big guys and after a couple weeks where not there size and are giving up.

about 2 weeks ago, I wen in on Monday and every machine was used, but the best part is 4 squat rack only 1 person squating. Everyone else curling.

Its bad because we are limited on Dumbbells. 7.5-65 lbs all being used every bench is used for an hour at a time by kids just benching.

I try to be nice to everyone. But, in my head I get so damn mad. If messes up my flow.
