my body is my worse enemy, so i am very conscience of what machines can do to my body. if you intend on opening a gym, researching what equipment is safe and what machines are known for causing injuries is the best thing you can for your members.
for example, the peck deck is notorious for causing shoulder injuries, leg press machines misalign the spine in the lumbar area causing lower back injuries, crunch machines cause back and neck injuries. some bicep isolation machine put extreme stresses on the elbows and wrists. see where im going with this. when i work with someone who has an injury for sports rehab we never use machines. what does that tell you??
restricted movement from machines or bad form ? i dont use machine shoulder press in my local gym to restricted ,its about 20 years old and i had shoulder impingment for 8 months i blame that fkn thing ,if i could fill a gym with barbells and dumbells and get people in perfect lol ,but it dont work like that here i need best equipment get the place movin
some equipment is better than others, just research the equipment, the way it works and how closely does it follow the natural motion of the joint. restrictive motion always impinges some where. take your time, research and research. u will have the best gym around if you think of it as, safety, perfection, and goal achievement
My favorite, hands down, has got to be Hammer Strength. Especially for back. Great isolation with big weight.
i like it. but it reminds me a lot of hammer strength equipment
what type machines you use in your gym? i hope to open up a gym this year and im lookin for best equipment possible , i like these and their in my price range ,thought il would ask in here try get some feedback , thanks
i do not use leg press machines at all. to me theyre pointless, i have lots of valid reasons to. but i am a free weight guy and a few cable machines. i do like some hammer strength though. i am a believe that plate machines and nautilus equipment is designed around "the average body type and doesnt fit everyone the same there for a poor choice. i would have a lot of strongman equipment, or power lifting equipment. leave the pretty machines for places like planet fitness
THATS EXACTLY IT , i need machines but not pretty machines like you said , the watson range have plate load and stack range and im thinkin this is best option, but im dumbell guy myself thats easy part il have no probs selecting them,
^ stuff looks nice I would love to have a nice at home gym! I used to have 500lbs Barbells and a flat bench but moved and had to get rid of it to play it again sports for 1 bill for all of it, loss out bad on that one; but my car was not big enough to transport the weight!
