when I first started back cycling a few years back I also had a great deal of cramping, a good friend of mine here (tread-m) gave me some advice on near instant relief when a bad cramp comes on, PICKLE JUICE!!!! It was the only thing that would relax my legs from some of the most intense painful cramps I have ever experienced. I was at the point to where I thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room they were so bad. It would wake me up in he middle of the night from a dead sleep. It worked for me my friend so try it and see if it helps you

You'll find taurine supplements help, as will eating more potassium, (bananas are a good source). Should solve your problem.

I've been having a weird problem with my calves, occasionally. I finish a set of, say, dumbell bench presses. Then I stand up and immediatly both my calves painfully cramp up - at the same time. Concerns me a bit.

I got the cramps as well. I started taking 250mg a day of magnesium and it really helped.
