+ 1 Trouble pinning left side
ad
I have had sciatic nerve pain on my left side for several years now that comes and goes. I have noticed when I pin my left glute or ventro glute as I push the plunger in it almost seems to put pressure on a nerve and I feel the sciatic pain. The pip on my left side is always worse, not unbearable, but as the pip goes so does the nerve pain. Does anyone have any experience with something like this or any ideas of what I can do? I would hate to have to lose two sites. Any help would be much appreciated

Your left side glute is like one of 40+ sites. Pick another spot to pin. I pin glutes, biceps, triceps, lats, pecs, calves, delts, quads etc theres so many spots theres no reason to keep hitting the same spot???
If you already have sciatica problems on the left side, most likely your muscles are already under stress (glutes, etc). When you pin the upper quadrant of the glute, there will be a localized tissue response to the so called "trauma" to that tissue. The sciatic nerve runs through a muscle that is called the piriformis, which is relatively close to the pinning site. I would be willing to venture that when the inflammatory response to those muscles happens, the piriformis is also affected, so in turn, irritating the sciatic nerve further.
So do you recommend I stay away from my left glute completely?
I would personally as I know what sciatica feels like and I see how it can ruin a persons functionality on a daily basis. STick to the right side and quads, delts if you do them.
I would be real careful with it. My dad had sciatic issues that heaped a load of pain on him. (Don't think he was juicing.)
You still have right glute/ventro, both quads, pecs, and delts. I did traps once and it was okay, but hard to manipulate-especially aspirating, so unless you have someone who can do it, prob not a good idea.
Thanks, never tried pecs maybe I'll give that a shot with the enanthate. I'm not sure how I would handle the pip from prop in a virgin muscle like my chest
I was doing a prop kickstart 6 weeks ago that had me pinning eod, and went to the pecs as an alternative. It was my first time there and had absolutely no problem with the virgin muscle.
Checked it out on spotinjections.com. Looks like it's about an inch above the nipple, does that sound about right? Also is it straight up from the nipple or slightly more towards the center?
Get a wallet that fits in your side pocket. #1 cause of sciatic nerve pain is a fat wallet. A good problem to have. That might be the issue, but if not you might be pinning to low and too far center. You want to pin the top outer quadrant of the butt cheek stay above the buttcrack but don't go above the hip.
Yea I have the spot cause its the same on the right side which gives me no problems. As far as the fat wallet issue I wish that was an problem I had but that's not the case haha
Hmm well it's hard for me to reach my glutes so I've been doing ventro-glutes ever since unless I have someone available to hit my glutes for me. Take some time to learn where that site is, and you'll be much happier. Also, I tended to go too gar forward when I first did ventro-glute, but it's really the best site no nerves or major vessels anywhere in site. Ha "site" pun I mean sight. Just had to give myself a pat on the back.
Thanks man I might be too far forward, I'll take a second look at the location and maybe give my VG another shot. Pun also intended
