Train alone? Or with group?

ad

I get really good gym sessions in when I go alone but having someone there on heavy days to help push me is always good. My gym partner seems to always be suddenly busy come gym time on leg days but I feel I get a better workout without him slowing me down. Do y'all prefer to train alone or with a partner? Just wanted to hear other people's take on this

I usually work alone, although my training buddy is usually at the gym and ill just flag em over if i think I'm going to try and out lift myself again.

Alone with my in ear sound isolating headphones. All I hear is music and my own self conscious thoughts of motivation.

However, it is nice to have a partner who is on the same level of intensity as you are, and you guys can help push each other through

I like going alone cause I can focus more on the squeeze. I put on a good mix turn it to 11 and boom I'm in my own crazy little world where it's me against the old me. I do go with a friend sometimes I tend to lose my consintration.

I have a workout partner and it works out perfect. Hes way stronger than me and also cycles so he really gets into it. It works out, but when he can't make it I still go by myself.
Sometimes I workout with some of the personal trainers on their off hours, because they know what they are doing

if you are the loner type of person that works out by yourself and has headphones in, that's fine but I actually enjoy interacting with other humans. Socializing just makes the gym even more enjoyable, I mean if I was a loner I'd just workout at home

Alone. I move fast, keep focused and people typically get out of my way.

I always train alone, even on heavy bench days. I use the smith machine for that if I'm going really heavy. I can get in and out of the gym in an hour on most days. Cardio is different. I get bored hitting the treadmill or stair stepper by myself.

Just dropped my partner.... he wouldn't stop playin on that got damn Iphone... always wanting to show me goofy shit,.... I see plenty of goofy shit here lol ;-)

I must say I've had to change up my partner a few time due to excessive phone use.

Yup, mine stays locked in the locker in the "OFF" position.... I have 22 and 1/2 hours left in the day to text/talk or play on eroids ;-)

Yea my partner will sit there when its his set and start texting everyone in his damn phone. The worst part is he is on cycle and doesn't eat/train/sleep instead he drinks stays up late and parties and complains he isn't getting gains. I had to talk him ouT of doing tren. I like having someone to push me but like someone earlier said he is getting all the benefit of my motivation while I lose out on his lack of

I like to train with a partner but its hard to find someone that will go as much as you do and is as motivated. So I go alone

Alone, I Fucking hate distractions. My phone is in airplane mode. If I need a spot, I yell at the dude nearest to me, then on my way.

I like working in a group or partner anyways. I think it pushes you a little more and plus I have more fun ripping on each other and what not.

skarates's picture

Yea that's very true, I guess it helps when your partner(s) are motivated and not quitters

You find out who is really in it to win it on leg day.
