ad
Does anyone else have problems with there strength out growing there tendons to quick? My tendon that runs up my bicep in to my chest. Well it’s pretty ache and I guess swollen. I’ve had these issue before but never really talked about it. I usually take a week or 2 from whatever causes it to do that which is mainly chest. Just wondering what everyone does about it if they have this particular problem.

I did read your thread and also did translate this but still don’t understand what you asking for or what you say
Could you please explain to noob like me what this thread is all about ?
also this is imo big thread with more than 50 comments, you should get more ++maybe :))
I don’t care about karma dude lol... My muscle are stronger than my tendons and I’m pushing more weight than my tendons can handle. Hopefully that dummies it down.
now I understand what you mean and I can say I have same problem bro
you also need to do some mobility exercises and stuff like that to keep that from happening in the first place. It is the bicep tendon that ties into pec minor. I used to have problems with it but a combination of prehab and rehab along with regular visits for deep tissue massage have kept it very healthy
Thanks Grrl I’ll do mobility exercises the next few chest days. I guess I’ll stay away from my shoulder press. I can feel the tendon especially around my front delt and It stops by my collar bone.
I do the mobility every day for my shoulder quads and calves.. it is worth it .. if you want a good person to check out send me a message they regularly post info and exercises
Thanks Grrl.... I went and got a deep tissue massage. I think everything maybe back to normal.
jayiskhappy ending ??
The ONLY thing that’s been proven to help with tendon repair as far as I’ve seen (and a family member who’s a PT) is ECCENTRIC loading. Especially in combination with blood flow restriction. And another option would be dry needling/ electric stimulation. I’ve had several different tendon issues over the years and they’re a lingering bitch but if you lay off concentric exercises for a month or two and focus on ECCENTRIC loading you will get better. One of the few stimuli that will lay down type 3 collagen.
StevebThat's NOT true
"As far as I've seen" is his caveat. I'd like you to show me how you know that's not true.
Furthermore, rather than just toss out a bomb like this and run. Why don't you expand on the conversation and enlighten all of us on what you feel is "true".
Lol ugh oh...
StevebPeptides have been proven to work. There's stuff on BPC157 on pubmed
I should have specified in human subjects. If you have a legit study on that please post it. Until then, it’s sub par research (even if it is the best we have) to suggest it is “proven” to work for humans.
StevebLook up titan medical. They treat people with BPC157 and their tendons get repaired. I was supposed to have a second surgery and I didn't need it after a 2 month use of it.
What was ur dosage? I ran along w tb unfortunately didnt have much results other than working as a great anti inflammatory.
StevebIt was around 300mcg twice a day. 1 shot on each side of the tendon.
My man. I’m truly glad that worked for you and you didn’t need another surgery. I’ve had 3 shoulder surgeries over the years so I can relate. One of my labrums is still torn. But Titan Medical is just another men’s clinic pumping out whatever they can to make money. I used to work for a similar group. So I know. Very little remotely acceptable research to support any of their claims with a lot of the stuff they offer. That’s not to say it might not benefit individuals, rather there is just no solid proof about it.
I tried BPC from a few reputable sources over the years without success. That’s just my experience. I paired it with TB500 once. I’ve also tried it alone and paired with growth. Didn’t work for me personally. But hey try anything to avoid surgery cuz that shit sucksss
StevebDid you change your diet or take any supplements while on it?
My diet is pretty great compared to the general pop. For example I haven’t eaten fast food in 10 years. Prep almost all my meals except eating a real breakfast and sushi out once a week.
No supps other than your typical pre workout back then. It’s been almost two years since the last round I tried.
StevebIf you look up stuff on taking BPC157 people will reccomend not taking it unless you're also taking some kind of supplement for join repair. The BPC157 needs to have something to repair with. At titan medical they say the same thing.
That really is one of my worst nightmares ending up needing to have a surgery as the result of a shoulder injury. How long do you end up not being able to train properly on chest for example? I can only imagine its like coming off cycle only 20 times worse with all the waiting involved and not being able to do anything about it but sit back and wait for the surgery, healing, rehab etc. My sympathies man.
Each rehab was 4-6 mos total. Couldn’t do much of anything on the effected side for 6 weeks post op. Then slowly stretching and AROM exercises. Then very gradual resistance training. Wasn’t back to baseline strength until about 6 mos after each procedure. It was rough man. Never got full strength back on my left side, and that long head of the biceps is slightly atrophied
I bet it must be very worrying when you first start training again that you may end up tearing the wound/surgery etc. Do you feel twitching or pain at first or is it completely healed by the time you pick up a weight again - I guess you have to wait on the green light from the doctor as well on training again?
+1 been doing some research on this since you brought it to my attention.
I ruptured my right distal tendon last year around Xmas. Kind of happy it happened because it was a constant pain, but now feels great. My left distal tendon is def damaged as well I’m actually hoping it ruptures because of how good my right one feels post surgery.
I’ve learned to stretch, stretch and stretch some more. Not to go super heavy, and never completely extend when lifting.
These items help me a lot.
Cissus Quadrangularis Super... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F7H5UIC?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Glucosamine with Chondroitin... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GVJK3XW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
and of course ibuprofen.
I had a case of bicep tendonitis in my upper going to my shoulder. Couldn't do any curls . About 4 month. It did let me focus more on my back . Lat pulldowns pull ups wide and seated rows with out bicep really built my latts. Had to focus on pulling my elbow back and not my hand. When I was able to curl again i started with 10's. Had to completely rebuild my strength back. I'm pretty sure I hurt it with dead lift.
Sounds like something similar but not as severe.
I'd say take a break.
jayiskhappens all the time in new gear users..,which i know you are not. the strength from the gear allows people to lift more weight then their joints and tendons are ready for. And usually end up hurting themselves.
unless the gear you are running increased you strength on lifts drastically.
i would recommend as others have starting to do mobility work, rolling out with a lacrosse ball in that area, and some band work to help break up scar tissue and get some blood flowing.
if it hurts a lot go with some BPC-157.
Tightness can restrict blood flow to tendons which will exacerbate problems. Do you have any type of tissue work done?
Try to focus on a mobility a day a week and stretch daily or every other
I get my girl to massage around that area but she isn’t really strong enough. Lol... I stretch between sets usually.
I just started getting massages(not the fun kind) about 6 months ago and they have helped my pain tremendously ...find a good sports massage therapist you def won’t regret it...your pec and front delts are probably so tight it’s binding your bicep
PallMallWell, lifting heavy has long term consequences that are undeniable. Look at Ronnie Coleman... he’s all types of fucked up.
I get that you’re on tren and getting stronger, but are you actually recovering? Overtraining is working the body so hard, for so long, that it is in a constant state of shock and is unable to properly heal.
If your tendon is hurting as bad as you say, then your body is sending you a signal that it is in danger.. pain is the body’s self-preservation mechanism..,
Rest, eat, sleep, relax... the gym ain’t gonna disappear and you’re not gonna shrink to 150lbs if you take a week off.
I don’t really go heavy. I weigh about 200lbs but I don’t go above 315. I usually rep it out between 15-20 reps.
Your going to find as you get older your going to have to drop certain exercises and bring your grip in. Don’t flare your elbows out.
Do reverse grip bench instead of inclines.
Floor presses can help until it clears up.
Neutral grip.
Stuff like that till it’s better.
I’ll try reverse bench. It’s a little weird lol but I’ll give it a shot.
Active release can help bicep tendon and rotator problems.Find a physical therapist or chiropractor that is certified in ART.
Couldn't agree more, especially when theres scar tissue involved.
I’ll check into it...
I've had this problem many a time in the past as tendons take roughly 3 times longer to heal and recover than muscle tissue. Problem is the more you attack the muscle/exercise the worse the tendon gets as it just compounds itself. Only thing I've found that truly heals it from all the supplements & compounds I've tried is at least 7 days off benching and severely limiting any other exercises that involve the front delts such as chins, shoulder pressing, barbell curls etc and take in plenty of BCAA's in the meantime.
You’ve made the most since. +1
I know its a real head doer when its such an addictive and kick ass exercise to do but honestly the longer you can refrain from doing it the better. Its awful seeing and feeling your chest decrease in size for sure but just keep in mind all the time that you'll be so much stronger when you hit it again
so very true. x2
There are so many things you can do...too many to list here. Good supplements like chondroitin, glucosamine etc. Rest, proper warmup, stretching all help!
I don’t think supplements can fix this problem. I take a few good supps. My favorite called Tren ;)....
Sometimes good manners can solve problems. lol
I get this in my elbows. It usually flares up if my estrogen gets too low. I just mask it with a lot of fish oil.
Or taking winstrol ;)
StevebUse BPC157 and it will pretty much fix any issues you have with tendons
