Substituting Primo with EQ

ad

Primo has been my go to compound from the beginning for off season and prep. Always ran it at a 1:1 ratio and e2 has always been in check with steady muscle gains. Coach has suggested to start running EQ in the off season for bulking at a 5:4 test/eq ratio which will be a first for me. Heard EQ can suppress e2 more strongly than primo but I feel only bloodwork will determine that which I plan to run at 8 weeks after EQ has fully saturated. Past experiences with primo is that I could also stack it interchangeably with Tren, Mast, Anadrol, or Anavar with little sides. Was wondering what your thoughts/ experiences on making the switch. Any dramatic noticeable differences? During these times of global shortages is this the best move, especially for an off season bulk?

Alright bro, sounds like you’ve been living the Primo dream, and honestly, Not many can say that with a straight face anymore given the price tag and fake gear floating around. Primo’s clean, mild, doesn’t crush your lipids or nuke your e2, and you clearly had it dialed, 1:1 with Test is smooth sailing if your gains were steady and bloat-free.

Now switching to EQ, That’s a different beast. Same class (DHT-derived), but it’s got a longer ester and a completely different personality. You’re right, EQ can suppress e2 harder than Primo, especially when guys don’t realize it’s creeping up on them slowly over 6--8 weeks. So good move planning bloods at week 8, cause that’s around the time EQ finally hits full saturation.

The 5:4 Test to EQ ratio your coach suggests.... That’s pretty standard, keeps EQ from pulling too much e2 suppression without letting Test get sloppy. You might need to tweak your AI timing/dose depending on where your e2 lands, but some guys actually drop the AI completely with this ratio if their Test dose is moderate.

Now about results:

EQ brings hunger, vascularity, and steady lean tissue over time, not explosive mass like Anadrol or Tren.

You’ll feel more “solid” than “swole.” Pumps stay dry, not wet.

Recovery and endurance might improve, which is great for offseason volume blocks.

But some get high RBC spikes, so keep an eye on hematocrit.

Is it the best move during global shortages, Honestly… maybe. Primo is getting stupid expensive and even good labs are hit or miss with real stuff. EQ is easier to source, cheaper, and if you’re not competing soon, it’s a decent swap for bulking. Wouldn’t sub it in for a prep though, EQ can cloud conditioning with mild water retention in some, especially if you’re not keeping your diet clean.

Primo = clean, expensive, low sides

EQ = cheaper, reliable, e2 wild card, watch RBC

Not a bad offseason call, but watch bloods and don’t expect magic overnight

If it’s working, ride it. But if EQ makes you feel flat, foggy, or starts hammering your hematocrit, you’ll wish you just stayed on the classic.

Respect for thinking it through instead of pinning blind like half the forum.

Let me know what your 8-week bloods show, I’m always down to dissect numbers.

I wouldnt even go with a ratio for EQ, i've seen it crash e2 at any dosage. If I could go back in time I would start with 200mg for 8 weeks, then see how my e2 responded, then bump it up to 300mg wait 8 weeks so how my e2 responded, until I found my sweet spot. For me it was 600test 300eq. Takes a long time but once you know that sweet spot the gains are incredible.

For a bulk, I’d definitely go with EQ as your coach suggested…it shines in off-season phases. For pre-contest, though, I’d personally go with Masteron instead of EQ. In my opinion, Mast is closer to Primo in terms of dryness, aesthetics, and minimal water retention, and it’s also safer in terms of cardiovascular impact when compared to EQ.
Primo and Mast are both DHT-derived, so they share similar cosmetic benefits—hardness, definition, and low estrogenic activity. The difference is that Primo is generally milder on the lipid panel and blood pressure, while EQ tends to raise RBC over time(NOT TO EVERYONE), which can become problematic if not monitored.
EQ, being a derivative of Testosterone with a long undecylenate ester, takes time to build up and can suppress estrogen more heavily than Mast or Primo, as you already mentioned. That’s a valid concern, especially without an AI or if you’re prone to low E2 symptoms. But on the upside, EQ is known to improve vascularity, endurance, and most notably appetite, which makes it a great choice during a growth phase if you’re struggling to eat in surplus.
Hair loss sides can come from both Primo and Mast depending on genetic sensitivity, but Mast tends to be more androgenic and may hit harder in that regard. Still, for stage prep…few compounds rival Mast in visual impact, especially when you’re already lean IMHO.
Bro, you got this…you’ll probably handle the transition well. Just make sure to monitor hematocrit, lipids, and E2 closely around week 8, like you planned.
And speaking of opinions that matter, there’s a guy around here @anvil who’s a true encyclopedia when it comes to Primo and EQ, would love to hear his take as well.

I've ran primo in the past but with the shortage this run im doing EQ. Very similar to me. Just got bloodwork done and EQ had very little negative effects on health markers. Virtually all the same benefits as primo but I feel like EQ builds muscle a little better. Shoulders completely blew up with a nice full 3d capped look. Still will run primo in the future but very happy with the EQ.

Happy to hear your health markers weren’t dramatically skewed..looking forward to seeing the muscle building properties..life is all about trying out new things and the experiences lived…looks like you experienced some blown up shoulder caps

Don't have any feedback for you. But i'm in the same spot due to both a vendor scamming and another letting me order something only for it to be backordered. SO no primo for me. I do have a bunch of EQ in the drawer and mast doesn't agree with my prostate. So test, npp and eq it is. I've never used eq so i'm not going crazy here. 600 test c, 100 npp and 500 eq. Like both mast and primo some people get a really strong AI effect from eq. Yet others it's moderate or even non existent. You're just going to have to give it a try and get bloodwork to see how it will effect you personally.

If you don't already have it there is a cypionate version of boldenone, So you wouldn't be waiting until week 6+ to really start getting to full saturation.
