Run Question

ad

Im wondering if someone can provide some feedback regarding this. If i run (cardio) can i increase my leaness without losing weight if i keep my caloric intake up?

No...... carb cycling is a way to stay lean and gain size. Also scale weight means nothing half the time you are just seeing water weight increase and decrease depending on your diet and water intake along with physical demands that day. You throw a bunch of cardio at things and the first thing your body will do is eat muscle. Comes down to nutrition.

You want increase leanness but not lose weight (replace fat with muscle). Sounds like you are trying to recomp to me. Cardio is not the answer. It is part of the equation but doing cardio is not going to build lean muscle tissue, you need weight training for that. So I guess the simple abbreviated version to your question is no.

Makwa, even if im continuing to pound the weights heavy 5 days a week. I was thinking that if i do cardio twice a week that i could get bigger, leaner, eliminating some excess water, while not depleting my calories just due to cardio being added. I never do cardio as i lose weight like you wouldnt believe thanks to having a super high metabolism. Thanks for the input

If you are doing cardio but then add in more calories to make up for it they are just kind of cancelling each other out. Spinning your wheels. Recomping is just not a very effecient way to lose fat or gain muscle. Since you are blessed with a high metabolism I would pack on as much quality mass as you can since it will be easy for you to lose any unwanted fat. That would be the most effecient and quickest way to go about things. Building mass and cardio are diametrically opposed in my book.
