Nizoral Shampoo and bacne

ad

I've been having some acne on my shoulders and on the back of them. I finally found some info that people uses this shampoo for acne. I splurged and bought some (20 bucks on Amazon) and within a week my acne has cleared up.

I can still see some purple bastards but they have mostly gone away and or reduced in size. I thought some of them were going to eat me because they were so big.

Worth giving it a shot if you are having some acne issues like me.

I get prescribed Ketaconazole 2% (Nizoral 2%) by my doctor. It really helps with the steroid induced DHEA acne I experience on my scalp while on cycle. It is also very effective against cystic acne on the body too. I get the occasional red bump with no head cystic type pimple on my body from time to time, and simply just leave some of the ketaconazole shampoo on it for a few minutes, and its dramatically speeds up the healing process.

But on top of the shampoo he also prescribed me CLINDAMYCIN 1% which is a topical solution that I apply to the affected area after I wash my hair and get out of the shower. These two products together absolutely kill any type of bacterial, fungal, DHEA, or hormonal acne.

The weird thing is though, 99% of the time I get "acne" it appears on my scalp from gear use, never my shoulders, back, face, chest, or anywhere else.

Another option would be to apply 100% tea tree oil directly to the affected acne, but I have learned this will not work against cystic acne but rather white/black heads and blemishes.

And as always, you should be washing with an "Anti-Bacterial" soap. Keep in mind not every soap is anti-bacterial, the majority of the Dove, Zest, Irish Springs, Dial, etc are all DEODORANT SOAPS. You have to look specifically for a soap that is anti-bacterial, such as this brand named SafeGuard, it's a bar soap and works wonders. Good luck!

I did the same thing mid-cycle and am very happy with the results. I also use a spot treatment when necessary, but imho Nizoral does a good job of keeping it to a bare minimum. I use a loofah for my back and the bottle will probably last 3 months with everyday use -- only need a small amount to foam up.
