How far should the cut go?
I have never quite lost the lower back/hip fat despite pushing fairly hard on cuts before, so my goal ultimately is to finally lose that stubborn shit.
I'm 7 weeks into a cut that I gave myself 16 weeks for, however I am a little concerned I pushed too fast. Strength is mostly holding up, but compounds certainly suffering.
When is it a good idea to do a "diet break"? Or is it best to just push on, hit the goal and end the cut early?
I figure that some muscle loss is a given, and it will all come back with the bulk, also a good stretch of cruising, cardio, clean diet etc will be a good reset for health markers. I have heard that a really good hard cut improves insulin sensitivity and primes your body for a great growth phase when you bump the calories again.
Included my average macros
Scrawny-er photos or current, last photo is from March when I was +20 pounds on cycle (I took 3 months off the gym for personal crap right after that which didn't help in the loss of gains)

There's no fat left. You can go too far into hard diet and body goes into conservation mode and adds fat. You're lean dude. Carb reflex and take few months clean....off gear.
It’s gone far enough imo
Dude you are already super low body fat, go on an actual bulk and put on some real size to your frame. Come back to cutting after you put on a good 10-15lbs of contractile tissue and your next cut will be way better and will probably not have the issues of lower back fat. I just don't know if cutting is worth it for you at all right now bro. You remind me of a buddy of mine, he is always on a perpetual cut every time I see him, the moment he does go on a "Bulk" he ends it prematurely cause he thinks he is fat and just ends up yoyo dieting the same 15 pounds over and over again, not really accomplishing anything.
The low back just drives me nuts! I have narrow shoulders/clavicles and losing the fat in that area I think would drastically improve my taper.
But I get what youre saying, i have scrawny in my user name for a reason, im naturally very thin and building muscle is no easy task. I had to eat everything in sight and blast to reach 180 pounds.
I'm going on a good long clean bulk starting December at the latest, 3-3500 calories of clean food and bump the test up to 500 or so.
Bro you barely have any fat on your flanks at all, you’re just being body dismorphic right now. If you go on a bulk, and make your lateral delts and your lats the key muscles for growth your taper will look insane. I just feel like your scrutinizing yourself a little to critically right now and it’s going to cause you to lose more muscle in the process, if your a hard gainer like you say then I wouldn’t fuck with that shit right now.
What are you running right now in terms of anabolics, peptides, and fat burners?
