+ 14 Markovnikov's Rule
For those of you whom know the fundamentals chemistry is built around; Markovnikovs rule is a fundamental principle in which the free hydrogens will be attracted the carbon with the most hydrogen bonds. Simply put, "Like attracts Like" This is something, although we see it from a different angle, is directly related to our every day life. I will get back to this....
I've come across a lot of people in this game in this life, etc. the question I tend to ask is, "are you truly sorry, or are you just sorry because you finally got caught" Simply put, most people aren't truly sorry because they never would have done it in the first place. Fool me once, shame on you.. Fool me again? Not going to happen. Just look at this from a relationship perspective, i can't speak personally but I would be willing to bet some of you have been in a relationship where you got caught cheating on your girl, or vice versa. She takes you back, and then what? a few months later when you the guilt has dissipated, you're right back to sneaking around behind her back - you were never truly sorry or you wouldn't have done it in the first place. People don't change. They never will. if someone will fuck you over once, you better believe, given the right circumstance - they'll be first in line to get over on you again. I have seen so many people over forgiveness, only to be walked all over again and again... and again. integrity cannot me bought, nor taught I truly feel blessed for the guys I have come before and considered "my team" over the years. The few guys that have always hung around my page. These guys you can't buy. No free gear, money or promises will earn their respect - its a dying trait in a world where it seems you have to buy your friends. My main point here is, I'd like to think i'm portraying the integrity through my actions that have attracted these individuals. Markovnikovs rule at its finest. Take a look around at things from a different perspective. Who is on the scammers pages promoting them; who is always popping up on the pages where free gear is being handed out, and who has stuck loyal to one source from the jump? I've always called it how I see it because the lies i have heard in the past have molded me. Integrity cannot be taught, nor bought - my friends.

AnonIve wondered this my self. Why have I ended up with the friends I have, why is it that I feel those are the best friends any person could ever hope for ? Is it because of the fact we are kindred spirits ? Is there some kind of connection that drew us together in the first place ? Im not sure but this Markovnikov rule seems to fit perfectly.
So far I have been treated by my friends in ways I have unfortunately almost never been treated before in my life. Have I not been able to apply Markinovikovs rule in my life till now ?
You know I not entirely sure about the why , and quite frankly although its interesting to ponder, I spend most of my time feeling a true sense of grattitude for the great friends, and sensing the massive devotion and desire to stand by each one during the fiercest of fights

Easy to answer, your loyal to a fault, compassionate, always there and willing to go far out of your way for those that you know. I see it time and time again in big business and the corporate world.
Do a sub-par repair to get the job out so another job can be be started. (production)
Use a cheap replacement part instead of the more expensive quality one (higherprofit)
Only if the customer comes back bitchen will the problem get resolved. Most customers don't because they just accept it as the norm or they just are not aware of what's actually been done.

For our governent to act like they are the sole hand of justice and truth when, in fact, they are the downfall of that is beyond my comprehension. Let us never forget Ruby Ridge, Waco, and the MOVE organization to name a few. Muta please forgive me now for I don't mean to hijack a post, I'm just trying to draw a parallel to the fact that integrity, in many cases can be bought and sold for a bottle of fuckin deca. When does truth ever prevail? And I welcome anyone to question my integrity or my duty to country as I've seen the finest men put their lives, and the well being of their families, on the line to defend a government that would crucify them in a second if they didn't agree with what they are doing. This is the reason after 18 hour shifts on the flight line, and watching one of my best friends come back with shrapnel in his chest no longer alive, I will not cower to anyone or anything. I spent my life defending this country that I thought was right when in fact our lower and middle class are sent to their demise so politicians can further their wealth and agenda. I passed up on a $50,000 signing bonus to do what I believed was right as a man and a human being. I couldve retired with full benefits and a check for the rest of my life at 37 years old as I enlisted and went to boot camp at 17 years of age. I graduated from boot camp on my 18th birthday just to find out over the next 6 years that the people I protected and the people they killed were just being used and murdered. My heart goes out every single day for people and MEN like pank who have to deal with the fact that they have to send young poor, lowerclass and middle-class men into combat to die for a government who labels them as expendable. Where do we draw the line? Why are we content with living a life of acceptance and blindness to what reality and the truth is. True Integrity, as muta and myself have said, cannot be bought or sold. But it is clear to me that, general integrity, can be manipulated. Always seek the truth with an open mind and educate yourself on history and what is right. I completely understand truth is a matter of opinion, and that opinion has been manipulated by greedy men as the mentality in this country troubles me greatly. I will shut up now as I have many issues with this world that cannot be expressed here. Stay true to who you are and what is right my friends. This rant is over.

The 51+% of the voters only know what all that mumbo jumbo is on the starbucks coffee menu. Many people have died and many more people will die. In the end it all translate to one thing. It doesn't matter if its power, oil, land, racism, religion, or anything else. It all translates to MONEY. waltrTo be fair, If a person joins the military they should have the full expectation that being killed is a possibility. It's not as if it's comparable to a job at McDonalds, it's signing up with the expectation to shoot and be shot at with real bullets and explosives in the mix. I don't think the military should take people so young though. Looking back I had no fucking idea what life was really about when I was 18.

That's the expectations for special ops boys who carry a gun in their hip and chest at all times. I made sure the countermeasures on a gunship functioned properly so the pilots and crew made it home to their families when a SAM was fired at them. Did I complain when mortar rounds from extremeists we fired at my tent? fuck no. I grabbed my firearm and prepared myself for an attack and I hoped some higher power allowed me to return home to my family and I put my finger on the trigger. What you're saying is more applicable to police officers. I'm sick of hearing how rough their job is when on day one you were handed a tazer, a billy club, handcuffs, and a pistol. They know god damn well what can happen on a day to day basis.

Mike1982Pank the thing that kills me everyday is my friend was killed on the very plane I was entrusted to protect. I did my job and I did it to perfection and with unwavering conviction as I had to stare those men in the eyes everyday. The fact that an unguided 20mm round ripped thru the bulkhead and took my friend haunts my thoughts constantly. I made sure the chaff, flare, and jamming pod did their job and I could do nothing about a piece of lead laced with phosphorous. I feel so guilty and I just wish he could hear my apologies to him and his family. It fuckin hurts man. It hurts real bad. Damm I sound like a bitch lol for some reason its easier to get this out by typing it because I can't speak it verbally without breaking down. 25% of everything I make goes straight to his wife and son and I feel like its never enough.

When someone's negligence gets another killed on the teams. So I will not accept your answer of we should've known what can happen. There are thousands of jobs in the military and 99% of them will never see a bullet fired, as they are support roles that will never be in harms way. I love ya waltr but you cannot sway me on this.
waltrTo be honest my only experience with military personnel has been from a contractor's viewpoint and some of the people I was in contact with had definitely paid their dues on the front lines, but for the most part they were desk job types.
waltrThey don't give everyone the same basic training for no reason. If joining the military the likelihood of being shot at and/or dieing is exponentially increased, I mean it's the freaking military. It's not a maintenance mechanic job at your local boat repair yard. The fact that you're working on a surface to air missile countermeasure module period should be a tip off on what to expect.

You're making that assumption and its a weak one. I knew exactly what I signed up for when my training was the second longest in the air force at 17 months. I will never apologize or make excuses for my service. But I will defend and question why we are there and the people in suits who put us in those positions. And my entire point is not the danger we know ourselves to be in. Its the motives behind using and manipulating ones patriotism to get what you want as a greedy fuck. I've seen it first hand and told my first sergeant I will not re-enlist as I cannot continue to put my life and my family's life on the line for a foreign policy that caters to world domination by a country that is completely out of control. If you think our government has gotten more sympathetic, that's just wrong, they have merely gotten better at what they do. Osama bin laden was blamed and rightfully responsible for 9/11. Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan we entirely behind what happened. So tell me why the fuck did i see my best friend die in a war zone in IRAQ? We fucked them up in 72 hours in 1991. It was merely a grab to obtain a foothold in the middle east. Now we don't have to launch operations from Egypt like we did before. Now we can strike Syria, Iran, and anyone else from their doorstep.
Mike is correct in both the political side and the combat side. I get thanked quite frequently by many as all who serve do, I always think I wonder when they are thanking me if they know my current motives for what I do. In the beginning when I received my commission, I was very patriotic actually I still I should very naive, in thinking my government cared about me as much as I do it. Of course over the years and being a very passion advocate for military veteran's rights and watching them get smashed to pieces I have lost faith in my government. But not my family and country. I retired my commission in the late 90s I reenlisted on 9/11/2001 as did many of my former teammates. I did it because I knew we were going to war and I believe that the men & women I serve with are better with me than without me. So today my prime reason is simple, I do it for the solder next to me in battle.
It would be false humility to say that I am not well versed in warfare tactics in fact I am one of the best. I know more than anyone that there is not a job/position in the military that is not utterly vital to the success of every mission. I have taken young spec op guy's who were cocky and thought they were the whole military and proved them wrong. By simply taking away the food that the cooks prepared for a couple days. I asked them how strong do you feel now, how much of a bad ass are you with no gas in the tank?! Then I show them that at this point they are not special ops in my book just special education! I know I got off point here but the point is Mike is correct in his dissertation.

I strongly feel that its attributed solely to my integrity and the actions that come from that and in all honesty I appreciate that more thn I do the money. When I tell someone I'm going to do something regardless of what comes up. I do what I say and I say what I do and IMO that is soooo lacking with so many today.
