+ 14 Living the lifestyle on gear minimizing risk.
My go-to protocol that has kept me healthy for the past 10 years. Feel free to add anything I missed to spread the harm reduction and educate us all.
Blood Work - Just do it, at least every 3-6 months especially during a blast or contest prep. If E2 is out of range it needs to be addressed. You may not have symptoms at 150 E2 but symptoms don’t mean the high E2 is not causing damage. Order a trt blood panel test or add the tests individually as a money saving hack since they tend to overprice the all-in-on test.
Cut out hard drugs and daily liquor. Full Stop. Even cutting out weed you will see improvements since thc raises prolactin. Would you rather be high and dumb with high prolactin or coherent and save money and brain cells and your lungs and be more present instead of numb to life? If need be switch to use it sparely when needed versus every 2 hours of your life.
Oral Only Cycles - Not worth it, you will be shut down, you can suffer long after effects and if you're not mentally prepared for shutdown, especially at a young age, you will feel awful. Test Base or hard stop now and remain natural. I have a post on pain free injections, it hurts more to stub a toe then to inject unless it’s a crazy compound or liquid oral or suspension.
Blood Pressure - The number one killer of our community. Magnesium, Fish Oil (EPA/DHA), CoQ10 (Ubiquinol), Hawthorn Berry, L-Arginine, Beetroot Powder, Vitamin D3, Olive Leaf Extract, Cinnamon, Ashwagandha, Taurine, Resveratrol, Zinc. Or you can just hop on Telmisartan 40mg daily and you'll see fantastic results. 120/80 is common. Many vendors sell it. I just re-upped for $140 year supply. Just avoid consuming high amounts of potassium when taking it.
Cholesterol - Plenty of fish oil. The stacks that have all 3 Omegas in 1 pill make it easy, Turmeric, Citrus Bergamot, Red Yeast Rice, Grape Seed Extract, Plant Sterols/Stanols, Green Tea Extract (EGCG), Berberine, Artichoke Leaf Extract. There are some safe prescription statins if you want to go that route like Rosuvastatin (Crestor) or Pravastatin (Pravachol).
SHGB - It's pretty stubborn, just accept it to be low and move past it. Some supplements do help, Boron, Glycine, Stinging Nettle Root, Inositol, Ashwagandha, Magnesium, Omega-3s, Zinc, Resveratrol, Tongkat Ali. Some TRT clinics prescribe low dose estradiol. Proviron is another route but can cause terrible hair loss if prone.
Liver- NAC, TUDCA, Ox bile, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Artichoke Extract, Schisandra Berry, Curcumin, Vitamin E, Selenium, Zinc, L-Glutamine. And you are good to go. Some evidence say it reduces the effects of orals but I haven't experienced that.
Blood Sugar - Monitor it, especially when using GH or high carb bulking phases. Take 500-1000mg of Berberine before a meal and go for a walk after eating. Try not to eat sugar by itself, fiber and protein and fat prevents glucose spikes. You do not want diabetes because you decided to hop on.
Food - Cook all your meals. Meal prep ahead of time 3-4 days worth using a variet of proteins Fish, Chicken, Turkey, Beef. Use a TDEE Calculator to see what your daily caloric amount is for cut/bulk/maint phase. Start with your protein, then carbs, then the remainder fats. Sprinkle in cheat meals and refeeds for your sanity. Unless your cutting, enjoy your night out with friends and family. Your mental health is more important. My favorites are White fish with sweet potatoes/hot sauce, Chicken and Brown rice with different seasonings, Petite sirloin or Bottom Round/London Broil. Ground turkey and brussel sprouts, Salmon and Asparagus, and I mix it up throughout the week. Add some nuts, avacados, mix of fruits added into your oikos yogurt. Cream of wheat or oats. Daves Killer Bread. Kale chips. All kinds of healthy foods available so you dont get bored.
Digestion - Probiotics, Digestive Enzymes, L-Glutamine, Apple Cider Vinegar, Peppermint Oil, Ginger Root, Aloe Vera, Slippery Elm, Fennel Seed, Turmeric, Papaya Extract, Marshmallow Root. I drink a kombucha every day with my biggest meal.
Water- At least 1 gallon each day. Start your morning with a hefty amount, avoid all the garbage electrolyte packets that have additives. Stick to the ones that have none and use sparely since we get most from our food. 1-3 days a day is plenty. The healthy ones come in tablet form and take a minute to disolve, have no sugary taste, and contain Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium, Chloride, Sodium.
Sleep - If you aren't getting 6-8 hours with good rem cycles then you are missing out on gains and messing with your entire recovery and body processes. GH minimum 4iu 4 hours before bed, 5mg extended-release Melatonin, Vitamin D 5000iu, Kava 500mg, Valerian Root 1500mg, GABA 250mg, 5HTP 200mg, Ashwagandha 400mg. Buy a loud high powered fan to have constant sound easy to sleep to. Buy blackout blinds or if it doesnt bother you, a sleep face cover to cut out all light.
Cortisol Control - Rhodiola Rosea, Phosphatidylserine, Magnesium, Holy Basil (Tulsi), L-Theanine, Glycine, Magnolia Bark, Omega-3s, Reishi Mushroom, Zinc, Vitamin C.
Hair Loss - Without going into the powerful protocols, buy a shampoo that has natural hair growth properties. They usually contain Ketoconazole, Baobab Protein, Murumuru Seed Butter, Organic Shea Butter, Lavender Essential Oil, Ylang Ylang Essential Oil, Geranium Essential Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil, Spearmint Essential Oil, Wintergreen Essential Oil, Chamomile Essential Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil, Vanilla Essential Oil, Buriti Fruit Oil, Amaranth Seed Extract, Black Cumin Seed Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Red Raspberry Seed Oil, Cranberry Seed Oil, Red Grape Seed Oil. Also Minoxidil drops along the hairline parts. Avoid shampooing hair every day, 1-2 times weekly allows your healthy oils to keep producing without drying out your hair.
*** Most people experience an initial hair shedding faze when starting a cycle or cycle/orals, this is normal, it will pass don’t freak out. You can tell by the length of hair strands. If they are 2-4 inches this is normal. If they are short and remain short this is most likely genetic balding and will continue until bald. If male-pattern baldness is in your genetics look into the stronger protocols with caution.
Acne and Skin - Hair/Skin/Nails biotin multi. Primrose Oil 2000mg. If you suffer from extreme acne, avoid dairy, processed foods, candy, fried/greasy foods or follow a safe dose Accutane protocol, you cant just take 10-20mg here and there, you have to committ to it for it to fully take affect. A full accutance protocol is 55mg * your body weight over the course of 6 months or a year. If you dose too high you can damage your eyes and have dry skin. A full protocol is 55mg per pound of body weight in lbs. I did a full protocol, I am 220lbs and took 40mg at night for 10 months. I tried 60mg but my eyes got so dry I couldnt even look at my computer screen or have the AC on or let the wind hit my eyes. I rairly get acne now even after eating dairy.
Mental Health - This is the tough one. Think before you speak. Your first response is usually impulsive and wrong. Take a second and think about your reply. Ask yourself "Would I want this said to me" Sprinkle some compassion and humility into your behavior. Be the roided out freak who is fun to be around. Set a timer on your phone every 4 hours to take a minute to breathe 5 seconds in 6-10 seconds out and think about how grateful you are. "I am grateful for the roof over my head, the food in my fridge, my job, my boss, my family, my loved ones, I am loved." If you can build a spiritual relationship with a higher power even better. Sprinkle in some quiet mediation for 10-20min each day with no interruptions or technology. You will notice huge improvements with your reactions, inner self talk, and judging of others. Maybe they cut you off because they are rushing to an emergency. Maybe that person is having the worst day of their life. Forgive them instead of harboring resentment which raises blood pressure and bounces around your intrusive thoughts for hours or days. Avoid social media if you can or filter it to what you like such as food, fitness, etc. Avoid screens or falling asleep to your comfort TV show 30min before bed.
Obviously, this is a financial and time investment, I have 3 (14 day) pill organizers split Morning, Mid-Day, Evening. I'm a walking supplement vessel. I buy in bulk every 6 months to help costs. If you implement you will see a drastic change in every aspect of your life, including your relationships with others, the gym, your mind, body, and soul over time. It compounds in an amazing way.
I have had health markers stay in range for most of my 10 years following this.
Stay safe and enjoy the ride.

Good read bro even better advice everyone should slow down take a minute and read posts like this and see what you can add to your arsenal of supplements to support the lifestyle
This is all really good advice and very comprehensive but ESPECIALLY the mental health section should be mandatory for anyone before starting AAS. I put my foot in my mouth so many times on my first cycle and had to apologize/work to repair friendships because I let my mouth move faster than my brain.
Man, when I think about the amount of people that have ruined relationships or lost their job while on crazy cycles. You can't let the AAS change who you are. The old saying is "gear turns you into a greater version of yourself". If you're an angry asshole you'll become an even bigger asshole. A few simple mental health reminders throughout the day will help you remain grounded. There's recent neruoscience studies done that show the worry/fear/anxiety center in the brain cant be activated while a person is in a state of gratitude. The brain has to pick one. And AAS can raise your state of fight-or-flight mode leaving in you the wrong state all day long. Practing your gratitude throughout the day forces the brain out of this mode. It's why people who attend yoga or meditation or church expereince so much Joy for that 1-2 hours. They are in a constant state of gratitude. Then that pathway starts to grow and becomes your normal state of mind. I recomend the alarm on the phone to start implementing this, then over time you dont even need an alarm. Every hour your're thinking of how grateful you are. I'm grateful for my gym being walking distance, greatful for my job, grateful for my paycheck, grateful for my friends and family, grateful for my employees, grateful for my clients. The list starts to grow and you attract what you put out. I have friends with domestive violence cases, jail time, divorce, duis, suicide, addiction, because they didn't work on their mental health before hopping on. I slip from time to time and catch myself but night and day difference since placing Mental Health first, Diet and Nutrition second, and physique is bottom of the list but is reaping the benefits dramatically. I used to eat so much candy during a high carb phase and that was causing problems, now I repeat "its poison, it ruins my insulin sensitivty, it destroys gains" or when employees are causing problems instead of getting all puffed up and confronting them "Maybe their going through a rough time, lets see how their doing, how can I help them?". Espcially while on Tren I just keep repeating "Nope, ill go to jail, im grateful im not in jail for confronting this asshole in the grocery store". Now its become automatic I don't have to use constant reminders. Just have to keep humility in check and not let ego get the best of us. What Joy this has produced.
Weed makes you dumb? That's biased brother....Other than that mention i found your post very informative

Berberine works wonders for A1C. 1500mg daily brought me from 6.5 to 5.7 and shut the doctor up about pre diabetes. Good post!
This needs to go into the holy archives
Thanks, brother, for the insight! I’m sure I’ll reference this a lot in my journey.
Amazing post, much appreciated

Great Post!!!
This!!!!! Is what I need
All good pointers for new guys my man! Good stuff.
Only thing I don’t agree with is the ”Or you can just hop on Telmisartan 40mg daily and you'll see fantastic results.”
Yeah you’d see results, but getting on serious meds like beta-blockers is often a lifelong commitment. If you can remedy the problem naturally with lifestyle changes (a lot of people aren’t 100% on track with diet, drugs, etc.) 100% go that route over making your body dependent on another medication!
For sure, Beta-Blockers I stay away from. They block epinephrine. I need my adrenaline it keeps me going. Some do great on them but I love my caffeine and a little pre workout.
Telmisartan is an ARB, in a different class of medications. They prevent the constriction of blood vessels. High blood pressure constricts the blood vessels making it harder on your heart to pump blood through those tiny little vessels. ARBs keeps your blood vessels normal and allows blood to flow as it should. One of the safer drugs to take for blood pressure as long as you don't take too much potassium. Blood pressure meds have come a long ways after so many bad ones. I'm really thankful it's cheap and available through vendors. But try to buy a beta-blocker like Propanolol and you'll have a hard time finding it without getting it prescribed since it can really drop your heart rate if you're not careful or mix it with alcohol/drugs. ARB's and thin blood from fish oil does wonders. Except when you scrape your shin and it bleeds forever because of all the Omega 3s in you haha.
Big man ! Except for the dosages, which clearly vary by individual, that is a quite comprehensive set of good practice standards. Great post, brother! Love it!
