Keeping the gains you made
ad
I'm a little confused on what to expect from running a cycle. I hear lots of the nattys claiming that you lose all your gains when you come off cycle. What kind of long term results will still be there a year or two after a cycle? Is there a "muscle memory" that will help you keep those gains?

I'm 44, 180 lbs at 6' and lifting two years. I'm just in the research phase of things and probably a year out on running a cycle. You guys are all very helpful and generous with your knowledge, I appreciate it.
phil113kgGetting a late start aren't we? But better late than never. To answer your question; I've personally seen guys who used come "off" and ended up looking like they were when they first started. A human body has a natural way of finding a balance. Keeping X amount of muscles over what it intended is not it's objective. The body will shrink down to what it's capable of handling. You can eat all the protein you want and hit the weights religiously but without the AAS in the equation equals natural results. So if you start at 180 lbs. now and used for two years and come off cold turkey then you will eventually go back to 180 +/- some. Don't be fooled into thinking you will ballon up to a certain weight come off and keep it. If that was the case then why is Flex Wheeler so different?
I haven't been keeping up with the pro scene lately. But I thought Flex Wheeler lost muscle mass because of kidney disease and the catabolic cortiosteroids he had to take for it?
phil113kgYes he battled with kidney problems and maybe he had to use meds but he is one of many examples of guys we know that once were bigger than life that are now one of the many faces. The list goes on and on from Flex to all the Mr. O's. Once they came off then it was all down hill from there. Here is an example that will be played out as time goes on; Big Rammy or however you spell his name started training three years ago from a 190 lbs. to where he is today a New York Pro winner and a Mr. O contender weighing over 300 lbs. in his "good form." Will he look that way a year or so after he comes off, I probably will strongly guess no.
I see your point. All that training has to count for something, though, right? I mean let's say a guy who was 120 pounds started hardcore training and heavy steroids at the same time , right from the start. Then gained 100 lbs of pure muscle over the course of three years of continuous use. Then stopped and went natural. Would he then just shrink down to a little weakling again?
phil113kgOh I also wanted to use a personal example of AAS use and it's ever changing face. I came off a long term use of Tren and switched to another compound for the sake of sanity and found that I lost some of the volume I had while tren blasting. Did I keep what I earned from a year of tren? No, just lost some of the size that I once had. Can I get it back? Maybe. So if I went with the theory of what I earned = what I will keep then what happened to that theory in my case?
phil113kgA very question and debatable if you had a panel of people. Yes all that hard training counts for something BUT, and I say that very seriously, I will fall back on another example. Try Kevin Levrone and take into account his training principle these days and look at his current condition and rethink your question. He bust his ass off but without the use of AAS and all the other agents he is what you see today. He was known to be one of the strongest BB in his era but again look at him now. He posted some youtube pics and vids of him squatting 500 lbs but does he sport the massive trunks as way back then? No! So the question is; can you maintain or keep a good portion of what you had after coming off cold turkey and my answer is no.
Smart. And you have a good attitude. Just remember where you're getting your information from. The 'nattys' are biased in their views. +1
Darron614I haven't lost a damn thing after my cycle. Lost some water weight during pct, but now I'm back to making gains naturally and bigger than ever.
hgh igf and surprisingly low dose clen are my go to's for helping with pct
Me too. I don't loose much at all when running GH - 2 IU ED is all I need. How much clen are you running? Do you run it on cruise also?
40mcg about
And then there is the drug whose name we dare not speak...
How would a natty know anything experiential about AAS? You're listening to guys who won't use AAS? This is ludicrous.
The fact is that everyone reacts differently to everything. Study the subject, get bloodwork done before starting a cycle, gather everything you need for the cycle AND PCT, start slowly - testosterone only, keep the first cycle short, watch for side effects, listen to your body, eat properly to maintain your gains, get plenty of rest, lift weights like a work horse, do PCT, be consistent.
