Insulin resistance/high fasting glucose after cycle!? Help!

ad

Age 33 M, Non Diabetic, Healthy Lifestyle/Diet, Healthy weight/height (190/6ft), Drink occasionally/ don't smoke, workout 5x with 25k steps daily.

Current stack - test 125/tudca/gse/fish oil/ nattokinase.

So l just got off a 50mg var/250 test cycle three weeks ago(8 weeks var/12 test) and recently l've been waking in the middle of the night to pee more often. I decided I should start checking my blood glucose (night time levels were around 110-125) .

Most mornings my fasted blood sugar is any where from 98-110 (using contour next). During the day/after meals it's always in range anywhere from 80-140.

I did test a few Alc at home tests and the results came back 5.0/5.1/5.3

Should I be worried about this and is there anything I can do to bring down my fasted levels? I do have dihydroberberine/metformin on hand.

I think that with such HbA1c levels, you shouldn't worry too much. You should complete the post-cycle period and revisit glucose monitoring in a few weeks.
I would also temporarily stop using CBN. I'm not entirely certain, but I recall that its derivatives might affect glucose levels.

Elevated glucose levels in the second half of the night are a natural process to some extent for everyone. Endocrinologists refer to this as the "dawn phenomenon." Look into it if you're curious.

Your frequent nighttime trips to the bathroom might have straightforward causes, such as irritated epithelium due to specific dietary choices or supplements. Stop using them for some time to get a clearer picture.

Glucose test in the morning is a snapshot in time the A1c is the important number. I wouldn’t worry about it as you could be having the dawn effect. But if you wanna waste your money with tests go for it

I already ordered a lab A1c test for later this week so I guess I’ll know for sure then. Thanks for the info!

Do you take any supplements before sleep?

Austint123's picture

Currently cbd/cbn, tart cherry extract and melatonin.

I also eat pretty late and wake up pretty early. 8:00 dinner and 5:30 wake up.

Sent you a request and my A1C is in normal range at the moment 5.0. I ordered a lab A1c/insulin resistance test for later this week to confirm.

5.0 is great, fasting insulin is also a good number too look at, but the at home blood glucose monitors are not that accurate, I believe they are regulated to be +-20 percent. They were designed to see really big swings you would see in diabetics, like 180+.They can give a ballpark but if A1c and fasting insulin is in check thats the most important.

Good to know! I guess I’ll just wait for my lab/results. Will update then.
