Whenever you take a shot in your muscle why is it that sometimes some of the oil gets under your skin and cause irritation that hurts and also how can you prevent it from happening

pretty good video showing multiple areas to inject and how to self inject. As far as not irritating the tissue, just make sure you are in the muscle and in it deep enough, as well as not hitting the same spot over and over again. If you're gonna be wicked paranoid about it then try the z track method, but that's going to take a lot of practice to self administer, while pulling the skin, and aspirating.

You cannot. It follows the needle back upwards. The best thing to do is to ensure that you are deep enough and slowly the needle out when you're finished. Sometimes it's worse than others though, depending on where exactly you penetrated the muscle..
I've had oil literally squirt out of my leg.. If it gets under your skin and stays there, use a heating pad to help dissipate the oil. You could also take a hot bath, that has helped me.
