I see from time to time people post about getting a red,swollen and warm spot after an injection. If you feel you need to see a doctor GO I would. Now let's say you have an infection cellulitis, staph or whatever the case may be. There is no need to tell them you caused it from self administering aas.
The course of treatment will be exactly the same wether you were poked by something swimming in murky water or you botched a pin or using bad gear. An infection is an infection they will take no extra measures if caused by pinning yourself with the sauce.
So when someone tells you to be honest with the doc think of this , what if it gets reported to my insurance and it's not covered then or you lose coverage all together and what not. Sometimes honesty is not always the right thing to do in some situations.

Ive seen this question posed here many times. I work in healthcare and Ive never heard of alleged substance abuse have any bearing on insurance status as far as health insurance that is. Steroid use by comparison is not even close to as harmful as the majority of self-destructive behaviors people commit on themselves. My carrier recently attempted to provide a premium cut available to people who denied smoking and were not obese- which to me makes sense since these two behaviors by themselves cause innumerable escalations in healthcare needs and dollars spent. As you would predict, smoklers and fatties revolted and complained of discrimination and doctors in fear of lawsuits glossed over these elements in their documentations. BMI was formally deleted in the electronic records in the physical exam portion of the patient history. When you confide your activity to your doctor they are obliged to keep that confidential and there is no time, reason or motivation to "report you" to your insurance or LE. The only thing healthcare workers will report because of legal obligation are things like legitimate violent threats against someone/ homicidal ideation or sexual and/or domestic abuse/ child abuse things like that.
Supposedly your medical records are private. The Doc could be liable if they violate this. But who knows.

RustyhookerHonesty won't work with medical insurance. You get that put into your permanent records and good luck finding insurance.
Your B12 shot must have been in error. B12 can be bought easily and not harsh on records as STEROIDS ABUSE.

Honesty is the best policy if being honest will work in your favor. ;) good post, and people who feel like they need to go to a doctor should absolutely go. You only get one chance at life, is pounding your chest like a gorilla worth it? My backup plan was that if I ever got an infection, I would say that impaled myself with a nail while working on the house/workplace/whatever.
