How is everyone measuring their body fat?
Not something to obsess over, if you’re happy with what you see in the mirror, just be happy.
You can go buy a scale that can tell you how much you weigh and fat percentage.
yea I don't know about that. how can a scale know?
You can find them on Amazon, you stand on them barefoot and it sends electrodes through your body. They are called smart scales and some also calculate your BMI which I don't like the BMI index.
The freak at the carnival is more accurate at guessing body fat percentage.
I usually go to the local Weight Watchers meetings and count how many people tell me I shouldn't be there, then use that number as my percentage.. Scientific formula
I haven’t checked in a long time but when I did I used skin fold calipers. It gives you a pretty good idea of where you’re at.,
Better question to ask yourself… why do you need to?
you just had me double check if I'm still on the eroids forum
where everybody talks about using gear and uses bf % as a descriptive term in measuring progress
why do I need to? I don't need to
just want to know
For myself I like to have a idea sometimes when on a cut. Gives me a ballpark idea of how much muscle i am holding onto. But for the average dude that isn't competing I don't see it as a big deal. 15%, 18% 20% doesn't really matter.
I have a Tanita scale at home that is garbage. Realized it is just doing a calculation with weight/height/age. At one point my BF was 30%. I was baffled because I knew I was under 20% easily. Turns out I was on my wifes "setting" which had her at 5'4 so when I stepped on the scale at 200lbs it just said I am fat. When I changed the settings to mine and being 5'10 suddenly the BF% dropped to 18% I believe. (can't remember exact #s)
At that point I realized it wasn't doing anything magical. It was just doing a calc based on height, weight, age.
Yeah, I wouldn't think that a scale could magically tell you your bf%. But with so many talking about bf% on here I am hoping that someone can clue me in on what method exists aside from the Dexa scan.
