+ 3 For those with back acne..

ad

I have been fighting back acne for three years, due to off n on cycles. I've tried most of the over the counter acne creams and topical solutions using a loofah and back scrubbers . Benzol peroxide helped very little, I have Accutane but I'm scared of the sides that go along with it so I figured that as a last resort. After lots of research I found that your pores get clogged and that's why you get little cyst like pimples. I also read that a certain dandruff shampoo called Nizoral helps. I tried it and it didn't do much with just a wash rag or soft back scrubber.

I got a very aggressive back scrubber, it has a handle so you can reach your back very easy. The trick is getting a scrubber with a aggressive brush, the bristles are almost as stiff as a toilet or rug scrubber. I use Nizoral dandruff shampoo with the back scrubber, I am very aggressive with it trying to exfoliate. I always wash my back first then the rest of my body so it can soak on my back.

Prior to this method my my back looked horrible and I was embarrassed to take my shirt off in public, it was that bad. After two weeks of use, generally every other day. My back is 90% clear and looks much better.

Just my experience and thought I would share for those having the same issue. By the way Nizoral can be bought at your local Wal-Mart and is not that expensive..

Can I wash my face with this shampoo?

I do believe im going to break down and give accutane a shot. I was one of the lucky one's I guess you could say, growing up I never really got acne that bad just a bit here and there and nothing bad at all. The first time i got really bad acne was on my first cycle. It was all over my chest, back and where it was the worst was right around the outside of my armpit where your arm meets your chest and it was horrible I mean pimple on top of pimple. Like I said i only suffer from it while im on. Sometimes its worst than others I guess depending on how and how much I dose. I will say I don't ever seem to suffer from e2 problems but ive never ran bloods to say 100 percent though I know it would be the smart and responsible thing to do. Now when I catch myself breaking out bad ill dose Adex EOD and within a week im pretty close to being 80 to 90% acne free and clear. I still want to give the accutane a shot. Good luck to everyone here that has to suffer with this I know it can and does hurt ones self-confidence because it gets to me at times.

I'll add something here. Before my days working out when I was 16/17 I suffered with horrendous back acne.

After the initial try everythingonce routine I tried thing constantly and document my own finding on what worked for me. Now scrubbing sounds ace, and on paper the science checks out but for me personally the worst thing I could do was upset my skin by scrubbing it more than once a week with any kind of abrasive instrument. It sent oil production into over drive and activated what's there already.

Glad this works for you mate. Acne are much the same as steroids, it's all person relative what works.

dont be scared of accutane, my biggest regret was listening to all the bs on the tv that was proven to not be true, and waiting a year longer wasting my time with topical retinoids and antibiotics. I could have had clear skin so much sooner. My derm did his residenacy at the hosptial that invented the drug so he was totally comfortable with it, he offered it to me basically from day one. I asked him if he had anyone who had serious side effects and out of the 10,000 people he treated with it he said one, first off accutane will raise your cholesterol but just while your on it, if i remember this correctly he had someone whos got really high but he found out the kid was doing something like drinking a gallon of whole milk a day or something along those lines. Im a huge supporter of accutane. After my course and he had me on 160mgs ed, he goes up to 200 sometimes and the sides in my experience and his arent dose dependent, my cholesterol and chapped lips were the same at 40mgs as they were on 160. The theory now is the gastro problems some people experience after it are from the antibiotics as every single person who goes on accutane starts with minocycline, doxy, or bactrium, usually all of them before trying accutane and a year on antibiotics is not good for you at all.

Yes. Accutane works wonders. But when it starts coming back, cefalexin and tretinoin keeps it at bay just fine.

ive been pretty lucky, i finished my course i wanna say 4 years ago and when my test levels are unstable ill get a few spots, but nothing crazy. I used to have it all over my face, back chest shoulders, oh man it was horrible. And it started when i was 19, got though puberty with like 2 spots ever then my second semester in college i started getting mild acne just on one side of my face, then when i started working out it just exploded, i was natty to and for a long time but everyone though i was on gear cause i was a skinny runt my entire life then all of a sudden im putting on size and have bad bacne and shit. Idk what caused it, cause at the same time i went from eating like a bird to eating 6 big meals a day, drinking a ton of milk, shakes, and maybe the test increase from lifting? idk man it was weird but nothing would help it i was on every antibiotic and topical, accutane was the only thing.

A nice late growth spurt, huh? Test increase from training: more aromatization. Drinking lots of milk: consuming lots of estrogen. Hmm. It makes me wonder if low dose aromatase inhibitors would be more effective than antibiotics for pubescent acne. Maybe it would mess with the still-developing endocrine system and HPGA too much.

actually when i got home, that was my last semester in college i got measured at the doc and I had grown about an inch an a half or so, when idk, last time i was measured idk, but i was still growing when i was 21 it seems. But it was like as soon as i started training this started, that semester was like 3-4 months long or so and i went back to school with mild acne on one side of my face and came back with servere acne all fucking over. My dad was accusing my of being on gear, i had put on about 15-20lbs at that point so i was like 150lbs, but i was noticably bigger then the 130lbs i went back to school at. Still fucking tiny though but all of a sudden i was upsessed about working out, added some size and had tons of acne, so i can see where he was coming from. When I hit 170 even my friends were accusing me of being on gear, still wasnt, just full of fucking acne. As for anti e's, idk, acne is a weird thing, its definitely a hormonal/genetic thing. sometimes i break out from work when i sweat alot, at that time i was showering as soon as i got back form the gym, washing my face and everything twice a day, my skin was clean, just nasty looking, so it wasnt due to fucking clogged pours. I stopped drinking milk for a while, didnt help, stopped drinking protein shakes for a while, again nothing, obviosuly i wasnt gonna stop lifting and see what that did. These days i only really break out when im coming off, never really when im on unless i run dbol. But when i come off sometimes ill break out a bit. I hate acne, its literally the only side i get from gear, even tren i dont suffer any of the typical sides.

You need to get bloods also. Estro is a major cause of back acne. For both on cycle and during and after pct. As Soon as I had that under control it has cleared up.

DfromPhilly's picture

same. that's the first sign my e2 is shooting up.

helloBrooklyn's picture

Or tough actin' prolactin

fusebox's picture

Yep. And before you know it I'm tearing up over some stupid commercial.

DfromPhilly's picture

lol I've told this story before but my cousin had to go get bloods after he started crying at the end of the Charles Barkley 30-for-30 because "he never won a championship... he deserved a championship!"

helloBrooklyn's picture

I think that's just a personality thing. I've always been a guy who cries during movies that call for it. Just yesterday the ending of The Road made me cry. Shit, video games make me cry sometimes. There's nothing wrong with crying, regardless of the gender role bullshit society likes to push.

DfromPhilly's picture

I don't disagree. If you're a cryer, cry. I don't give a shit. Definitely depends on the person, but crying because Barkley never won a championship from a dude that i've never seen shed a tear is definitely a warning sign lol

And does "society" really push the role thing anymore? I feel like it's gone the other way. I guess that's really a topic for another day.

helloBrooklyn's picture

Crying over something stupid, sure, that's the sign
