+ 6 Fat loss - Trials and Tribulations.

ad

A few people have contacted me about getting lean, or helping to get their women lean. People see my picture and think I must know a secret to getting lean. That's just my genetics,I have a very fast metabolism and a physical job.

What do I know about getting lean? Or helping women achieve this goal you may ask. Well I worked as a health coach for many years helping people design diet, exercise, and supplement programs. I've worked with models who needed to loose 5 lbs and old ladies who wanted to loose 70 lbs. I think I've probably worked with at least a couple hundred people designing healthy lifestyles for them. So what did I learn... Not that much really. At least not much that couldn't be googled in 30 minutes.

It wasn't until I worked with my wife that I really learned anything. Just a brief history about that quickly. When I met my wife she was a little heavy but pretty sexy. I ended up getting her pregnant almost immediately. And during the pregnancy she gained like 60 lbs and kept it all, maybe more actually.

During my previous experience with AAS, dieting and working with clients I learned a lot about chemicals. I read the PDR when I was very young and always had a love affair with chemicals. I learned that there was no problem without a chemical solution - at least I thought so. So my mind went directly to the fact that there must be some drugs I could put her on to help her loose all this damn body fat. I tried everything -

Clen
T3
Growth Hormone
Peptides (CJC, GHRP's, Frag, Ipamorelin)
Phentermine
Adderall
Testosterone (cream, and injections)
Anavar
And every fad - raspberry ketone, green tea, body by Vi shake, ad infinitum.

I fucking tried everything under the sun. And NOTHING WORKED!! It either made her loose a couple lbs and gain it right back or made her gain only.

I finally just gave up. It was hard because I'm so healthy - or I look like I am. People would pull me aside and say dude your wife isn't a good fit for you at all. My ego had a really hard time with having such a heavy wife, I just didn't feel proud to walk down the street with her. Maybe this sounds shallow, it probably is, but this is my experience, so fuck you. (:

What happened finally? Well she finally decided she had enough. She went to a nutritionist and he told her all the same things I had been telling her for years, but she was able to listen to him. She had made up her mind and was willing to do anything to get there. She had to see him once a week to gauge progress, check body fat, and weigh in. This accountability made a huge difference.

What he did -

Put her on an 800 calorie a day diet. You can argue that this is too low and its unhealthy etc... But again I'm just telling you what worked. And she had to work out at least one hour a day. She had been to the gym lifting with me before but she didn't love it, and she didn't love cardio that much either. I think its important to find something YOU LOVE. She landed on yoga, she started taking a power yinyasa class every day that was 75 minutes. These classes are fucking intense, I can hardly get through one right now with my cardio being where it is. She started off slow and slooowwwly got better. She was embarrassed being the fat girl working out with all these gorgeous 20 year old hotties, but she fucking did it.

She had set backs, where she felt like she wasn't making the progress she wanted to make. Or she was worried that she would have extra skin, and she hurt her shoulder really bad doing the 100 burpee a day challenge at one point. I helped rehab this using peptides and the doctor didn't think it was possible by the way.

AND IT WORKED....

She lost 80 lbs and she looks great now. She actually fell in love with yoga and now she teaches full time. Her diet is excellent now and she typically eats something like 1500 calories daily with higher fats and protein and low carbs. Lots of raw unprocessed foods.

Once she was finally in decent shape we just added some Anavar. It worked like a charm, she's got some real good nice muscle on her now. Her arms are 13 or 14 inches, she's got a great back, nice legs and an awesome ass. She is always complemented on her body which is something that never happened her whole life. She does need breast implants at this point so maybe that's a gift in the near future. I would post a picture but she would be too embarrassed showing her before - trust me it wasn't good.

So my point is don't fucking throw drugs at the body IT WON'T WORK, it never does. I have NEVER seen this work, not once in all my years of working with people. The only thing that works is getting in your head that no matter what, you are going to get where you want to go. This means, working out when you don't want to, learning to deal with hunger, even training with an injury. Letting nothing stand between you and your goal.

This concept has been preached a thousand times lately but I had to add my little bit. Believe me I'm a short cut kind of guy - if there was a faster way about it I would know.

So...
If anyone wants specifics as far as what diet she followed, supplements she took, or a workout that I know works, feel free to PM me. I'm happy to contribute something around here.

This is an excellent post and something that I have a vested interest in at the moment. My wife is currently about 30lbs over the weight that she would like to be at. She is still very beautiful and sexy, she just struggles with this weight as she knows what she once looked like one year before our first baby was born. She has recently, about 6 weeks ago, started a new diet regimen that is proven to work. She has followed it to a T and has only lost 7lbs. Those 7lbs have been an extreme struggle for her, seeing the scale not move, the loss in motivation that follows. I finally sat her down and had a long talk with her. I first had to compliment her on her dedication and drive to want to become healthier and how great of a job she had been doing on her new program. What came next was a talk about hormones....

In my line of work I deal a lot with people being unhealthy, wanting to lose weight but can't, etc. Many people are doing exactly what they need to do but the pounds simply do not drop off. They get pissed and want to give up. So back to my wife....I talked to her about post pregnancy fluctuations in hormones, what could be high, low, etc. We are getting blood work done but I already know what we will find. Many women post pregnancy have issues with adrenal function, thymus gland, as well as their estrogen/progesterone/testosterone. The first step she is taking is removing her IUD (myrena) which has been reported to either cause weight gain or prevent weight loss from happening. I'm extremely excited to help her with her goals, but we as men and fitness gurus need to remember that weight, or the actual scale reading is 99% of what women shoot for initially.

So for all you men out there that have women in your life that are struggling with weight loss, I highly suggest have their hormones checked out asap. You will be amazed at what a little tweaking of the diet and supplements can do for hormone levels, and hence weight loss.

Now put your self in my shoes when your wife is a practicing dietitian and 60lbs over weight. Its an impossible topic for us to discuss. She does cardio and lifts 5 days a week and her diet is good enough being 60lbs over weight it should melt off to some extent. But its not. She is clueless and so am I.

I told he she needs to go see an MD and have blood work done.

I suppose your right she could be eating a lot more than she tells me.

Thyroid issues maybe?

That's crossed my mind and very well could be the reason. She just needs to get checked out.

Appreciated. Ill see if she will do it

Great post. I really admire your wife. I think the most overweight people in the gym are the most courageous. Its easy to go to the gym when people come up to you and ask you what you did to get your tri's so big. Not so easy when you get snickers, or everyone avoiding eye contact because you're big.

I got my comeuppance years ago from my sponsor in my AA 12 step program when i snickered about a big girl. He said; "Hey, if you wore your addictions on the outside, you'd weigh a thousand pounds!" He was right, of course, and I dropped the arrogance.

Now when I see a big person getting started at the gym I only wish I could somehow pass on the respect I feel for them, but just don't know any tactful way to do it.

Very well written!!! I struggle with fat, even on AAS and fat burners.. It just comes right back like a disease! So far I've had no luck but I am as close as I've ever been to not having a belly. With a shirt on, I look like I would have a six pack and I have veins running down my arms, forearms, but from the chest down I look like I'd be some fat guy. Even my chest has veins and is shaped to that of a very nice cut!

Nothing I can do makes my stomach go down though... Just shit genetics I guess. I've even tried a 1500 calorie diet, and I weigh 192 lbs roughly 14-17% bodyfat just about all in my gut. I guess a picture would explain it better.
