Do doctors know if you're on steroids?
ad
I have to get a physical this week and I am worried that the doctor will question me about using gear, should I deny it? It's a doctor, and you want to tell them the truth right? Can't imagine getting nagged at by the doctors for gear usage.

My doctors has made some off hand comments about my gains in mass. He knows, but I'd never admit it. The American patriot act allows FBI, and really even local law enforcement the right to obtain medical records. Sounds far fetched I know, but research it.
I wouldn't bother unless you want him to know i had hernia surgery on gear and no problem.i just got blood work done on live kidney ect. Every thing came back great and he never asked shit and yes i look like i lift lol! Hope that helps brother pm me if you have any questions.
They can tell just by looking at you. Just like when I walk into my gym I can tell by someone's physique if they use gear or not. There's a natty look that's kinda hard to miss.
Marcel1229You'd be suprise bro, some people are actually genetic freaks, look at prisoners those guys are pretty jacked.
C'mon man they're all pinning with Bic pens. Haven't you read ED's post?
AnonThe only time I think it would be a problem is if you donate blood, which a lot of people who have high rbc do. Red Cross will deny you fast if you have been injecting anything. They must have asked me about three or four times.
it would depend, if your results came back all fkd up, say like elevated liver enzymes or blood pressure liver etc then id say yes im on the juice to avoid them thinking your just completely unhealthy and sick. I went and saw a dr recently and told him that im on steroids( im australan) so it very illegal here as in you go to prison!! he looked at me and said- get out of here I will not help you or have anything to do with your illegal activities!!, I went to another dr the same night and he was fine, he actually monitors and helps me even showing me the best spots to pin etc, he did give me the old steroids are bad lecture etc but its touch and go bro, and yes there is a dr patient confidentiality clause in place they cant say shit to anybody about it, if they do you take it to the tribuneral. of course if you kill somebody or something I think that clause will be void!!
if i was going into surgery i would tell someone but otherwise... they dont need to know and it would only hurt you. your insurance could drop you. plus they might bitch at you like your bitchy, uninformed irish aunt.
I think it's best to tell him. I do. HOWEVER, I do tell him NOT to write anything on my chart because many offices now convert to electronic format and you never know where that will end up.
Marcel1229I know it's a doctor, but you're kind of ratting yourself out if you tell him, it's actually pretty tough to admit steroid usage to people
BigBmajHe's your doctor. You can tell him anything, he can't say shit to anyone. Not even in a court of law. Unless you tell him you plan to harm yourself or someone else.
Who cares? Ill tell anyone.
Not true. If you have done something illegal a doctor can indeed spill the beans especially in a court of law. You do not have the same priviledges with a doctor that you do with a lawyer or your spouse. Go to the doc with a gunshot wound and see if they dont have the cops up there in a split second. Its legal for them to call and tell you have that gunshot because more than likely something illegal happened to cause it. If they really "cant say shit" they couldnt call the cops and tell them you are there with a gunshot.
BigBmajLast time I went to the ER they made me fill out a survey about tobacco, alcohol, and recreational drug use. Are the insurance companies privy to that info as well??
BigBmajHadn't thought about insurance companies. My doc writes me for test so I'm not concerned about elevated levels.
You are correct about gun shots.
Plus ANYTHING concerning your visit to the doctor can be told to the health insurance company
X1000 If I lost my insurance because my doctor put "steroid use" in her file, I would be fucked!
X2
This is the major issue. You have a stroke, heart attack, need a bypass surgery, you'll be SOL. You die from one of these and your AAS use is documented it could potentially affect life insurance payout.
Unless your dying you never drop AAS. I would say the PH to testosterone and nandrolone, at these conversion rates being Xmg, in a need to know situation.
I hear you. It's because there is so much negative publicity and misunderstanding. I tell my wife obviously, my brother, my doc and my close friends.
Marcel1229My brother doesn't know I'm on it, can't imagine tho man, he gets inspired and motivated to go to the gym, because of me.
No way. It's def your choice but think about this. You motivate and inspire him but you have an advantage that he doesn't have and doesn't know about. Do you think he will get discouraged because he can't make the same progress as you and won't know why? Just something to think about.
I'm always open. If they do bloods and see something's wrong I tell them to fix it !!
They won't know. I always get my annual physical and blood tests. Bloods come back normal and the doc is more concerned about my BP, weight, cholesterol and fat. Never has the topic come up.
If it did however, I would not blurt out I use AAS, I would make sure the conversation stayed in the "hypothetical" and ask her to refer me to a specialist.
If you're fine right now why tell them? It really could screw your insurance if they share it.. Which I do believe they are required to share that with your insurance.
BirmonI think the rules for doctors revealing information about a patient are only if the patient is a serious risk to themselves or to others. Google "doctor/patient confidentiality".
If I were you I'd be open and honest if you trust your doctor. If its just some 1 time visit thing for a physical and you'll probably never use them again, then they don't need to know and I doubt they'll be able to tell. I mean, a lot if people believe Ronnie Coleman is all natural, haha.
doctor/patient confidentiality doesnt "legally" include ilegal actions. For instance if you go in with a gunshot they have to calll the police no matter what, even if you say you shot yourself. Or if they ask the doc about something partaining to a criminal case doc has to tell even though he is your doc. He's not like a lawyer, if something illegal is going on he can talk.
Marcel1229Man I've known this doctor since I was a kid, actually since I was a baby, been going to him everytime I play a sport to get my physical, but that was when I was all natural, now I'm pretty obvious
Pshh, Ronnie Coleman natural? Get out of here!
Depends what your goal is. It will become a part of your record if you admit it. Some doctors are really cool and will work with you others will scold you. But I always like to remind them that they work for me not the other way around and there are no shortage of doctors. My general practitioner doctor said don't you know that steroids are dangerous to your health. I said more dangerous then being shot at for over twenty years lol, discussion was over.
Marcel1229Bro, I'm on gear because I play adult league football, I got edge over everyone and advantage!
Well there you go that is what you tell him if you decide to. The reason why I tall my doctors is I want them to have all my information so I can get an accurate diagnosis so I can manage my usage properly.
if they report you to your insurance you're fucked....if you're trt thats all they need to know
Marcel1229I'm worried bro, should I deny usage?
Yea you deny that shit. Unless I am about to die, I won't say shit. If I'm dying and they need to know ill still probably say PH.
