Cortisol and DHEA
Recently I have been having some work done to establish my hormone levels. I have had both bloods and saliva tested. As well as establishing hormone levels I have been trying to get to the bottom of problems with lack of motivation and fatigue. Blood work a few months ago indicated very high Oestradiol levels. I started taking a small dose of Arimidex which recent tests show Oestradiol has now been brought within normal range. Coincidentally I had my DHEA and Cortisol levels checked at the same time. Whilst DHEA is normal my Cortisol levels are very low although they do exhibit a normal diurnal rhythm. I suspect my Adrenal Glands are “exhausted” after ten years of unrelenting stress. Fortunately just over a year ago I was able to remove myself from that stressful environment. However recovery of the adrenal function looks as though it could be a very long winded affair. Things have improved with the Oestradiol back under control and being on HRT has helped. If you are suffering any of the problems below then it may be worth getting you levels checked out. I have also displayed my results for reference.
For anyone in the UK I had my tests done by http://www.androbalance.co.uk/
