Cholesterol - What do you aim for before cycle?
ad
I'm just looking for some feedback. I got bloods done, and my cholesterol is the worst it's ever been. I'm 13 weeks post cycle and total cholesterol is 277, TG 205, LDL 189, HDL 47. This really sucks. I admit my diet has not been the best off cycle, but not much has changed. I've ordered niacin, bumped up my fish oil intake, been eating dark chocolate, cleaned up my diet and increased my cardio. I'm going to get it all way down and hdl way up before starting next cycle, but...
My question is to you, at what cholesterol levels would you feel comfortable going back on cycle? I aim to get to at least a ratio of 3-to-1, but not sure if that's attainable yet or not.

Did you know the truth of the matter is cholesterol is used by the body to synthesize hormones...in fact it is one of the most vital substances in yr body....there are no scientific studies that prove lowering cholesterol prevents heart attacks. in addition the pharmaceutical industry created a " range" of "acceptable cholesterol" then arbitrarily lowered it to sell more drugs....ppl generally avoid fats bec they think it raises their cholesterol; eating foods which contain rancid fats is toxic to the body not bec it raises cholestrol but bec it releases free radicals in the blood stream. eating fats which are not heated and therefore in their free virgin form like olive oil, coconut oil, lignan oil, avocado, do not turn rancid in the body and actually fight free radicals, support healthy heart, hair, skin, intestinal function etc.
so i wld not worry about yr cholesterol blood numbers but i wld however pay far more attention to the quality of the food you are eating
I actually just recently read an article about the arbitrary ranges to sell more drugs. What a messed up world we live in, eh? But the reason cholesterol goes up while on AAS is also due to your body not synthesizing cholesterol while you're shutdown.
I do know my diet has sucked over the last several months, so I am more focused on improving the quality of the food I'm eating. I would like my HDL levels to at least come up considerably, and to be satisfied with my diet before I go back on. It's not easy having a medicine cabinet full of yummy oils and orals just begging to be used, but I am more concerned about my health than gains at the moment.
Thanks for your feedback!
Start drinking konsyl at least once at day. It's a fiber but will lower your cholesterol and keep it steady. And it will help your digestive system and heart too bro. I promise. You can get it at walmart: )
Cool, thanks for the tip bro. I'll give it a try!
what are your stats? how old are you? Have you had your testosterone checked (if low) as that can affect your cholesterol in a negative way? what about your metabolic panels?
Stats are all on my profile:
Stats
Age: 34 (going on 35)
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 240 LB
BF: 15%
I did have my test checked also and it is low. It was 335. My test before ever starting AAS 2 years ago already low then at 350, and has floated around that off cycle since, but slowly declining. My cholesterol hasn't been that bad however until recently.
