+ 1 Baseball size lump

ad

Soo it’s been two weeks and this lump isn’t going away in my ass…it’s entirely my own fault I use one inch darts and burry them all the way but got distracted as I was pinning and by the time I turned around to check it out the pin wasn’t even quarter inch deep and 2.5cc was already in….not hot to the touch or red at all and no fevers at all so was hoping it would go away on its own but it’s not…it’s not getting any worse but it’s also not getting any better so guess I have to man up and go into the ER uhhggg I already have a history of infections from pins so I’m pretty sure I can’t lie to them and say it’s from anything other that what it is…uhhgg

sounds like you have a sterile abscess, too much, too shallow.

Claudezilla's picture

Just an update….
They pulled out 100ml of gross went very smooth and no infection and didn’t have to leave a tube for drainage was in and out like the damn ER visit should have been so glad it didn’t materialize into something major a good reminder to be careful and pay attention to what the heck I’m doing when pinning

I'm really going to need to learn to read the whole thread before commenting. Glad they got that out, I had one for 3 months, only like 5ml, can't imagine what 100ml was like. We all get a little lazy sometimes, at least this one wasn't that bad

Claudezilla's picture

What’s wild is that it only was painful like pip the first week and just swelled up the first time I went in with the literal baseball lump sticking out of my backside the docs did ultrasound and said nope no fluid it’s probably just a hematoma and I must have nicked a vein and it just bled and collected…..well no shit either way it’s gotta come out they said apply wraps and put pressure on it and give it a week..pricks just either didn’t know how to get it out or didn’t want to.It wasn’t painful at all couldn’t even feel the pressure from it so that was cool but yeh man 100ML was crazy. It wasn’t infected but I did take 1000mg amoxicillin for a week once I noticed the lump anyway it’s done and over

That lump was brutal. U always get a 2nd or 3rd opinion these days. Glad u r better. Painful process to learn from

JakeKO's picture

Happy to hear you’re doing better. I told you those other doctors didn’t have a clue. From no need to drain to 100cc’s to drain???? What the fuck were they thinking sending you home like that? So much for ultra sounds, huh? Thank fucking God you went back.

Claudezilla's picture

Yeh I’m just glad it’s over and done with and no infection in the muscle at all I don’t get it literally can’t even tell it was there…obviously I won’t be pinning there for a few months lol

JakeKO's picture

Yeah, give it at least a month. You’ll know when to pin there again. Happy for you because I know how bad it sucks.

100cc drained...damn. Finish those antibiotics and I hope that's over for you bro.

I hope so too man. Like I said previously, you have to catch that fast before the oil that's not being absorbed after these past 20 something days begin to eventually rot the flesh all around that entire site. That's a really bad area to have to get drained because it is such a big muscle group and that area is also highway of major veins.

Claudezilla's picture

I mean last Saturday they did an ultrasound and said not to worry can’t imagine they would risk it but I’m still worried but the damn thing isn’t red and doesn’t hurt at all you would think If it was rotting the tissue id be sick or at least be in pain either way they moved my new ultrasound to Tuesday in a clinic where they can also preform the drainage…it’s one of the best clinics in the country/world so I should be ok

I have a very close friend that had a similar situation and unfortunately it wasn’t going away. It had to be drained by way of laceration. When it was opened he claimed that it seemed as if the oil hadn’t absorbed and most of it was still in the pocket. Hope everything works out for you.

ForeverFitBod1's picture

Glad to see you're getting it straightened out and there is less to worry about. I see members talking about using 5/8 and sub Q all the time. Neither of those have ever worked for me. The deeper the better imo

That's an easy 3 weeker, and you did the responsible thing by having it checked out. An epsom bath, the heating pad when you go to bed, massage, ibuprofen helps tons, for a topical I like arnica gel. Not the brand I mean the natural substance itself, comes in a gel

A good indicator aside from redness, is heat, if the spot feels much warmer than your other butt cheeks. I'm sure you know but I don't see many people mentioned the feel test, like when you get a fever and your forehead is warm.

That's some serious inflammation, hope it gets better soon for you

I literally take epsom salt baths every night I spend probably way too much on them but I get the regular stuff and then the post workout mix and also get the eucalyptus/menthol bag too I’ve been doing them for years now and am a firm believer that they help the entire body about 12 cups per bath so yeh it adds up fast but I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t think it helped me prior to taking them I always had so damn many aches and pains throughout my body from well now 25 years of manual labor (Union Plaster Tender) this is a great community and glad I found eroids the members seem to genuinely care about one another and lift each other up as opposed to all the damn negativity in the world today I have some antibiotics I’ve been taking just to make damn sure it doesn’t turn into an infection but if by the end of this week still no changes I’ll be making another appointment with my primary care doc it’s what the ER docs said to do….still upset that the ER docs didn’t just take the initiative and open it up and clean it out but they did do ultrasound and had multiple doctors look at it and just said it’s not fluid to be drained and couldn’t distinguish it from the tissue around the site so we’ll see and like I mentioned it’s my own damn fault for not making damn sure the dart was all the way in but the wife walked in and distracted me

ForeverFitBod1's picture

I like that epsom mix also. Open the airways nicely and epsom baths are detoxifying also.

Well fist bump on that, eroids is the BEST. They've been really cool and patient with me. I learned from a lot of founding members but never really posted for a long ass time.

Yeah I hear you man it can be scary too, I did one too shallow once in my delt, no infection but still had cellulitis looking skin, it hurt for a while I was super close to going to the ER luckily it subsided

When I first got into the hobby it was 1.5" commonly suggested. Then it went to 1". Which I'm fine with. Then members like Rusty touting 5/8" that's how I got my arm screwed up. I no some numbers seem to be fine with that length, but I don't think that's common and I don't think it should be suggested.

I forgot to say some Crystal vitamin c really helps if I ever get a test flu or a lump that's not absorbing properly. Anyways I see the recent updates and I see that you're getting some treatment, you'll be back at it in no time. Sure sure all the wifeys fault jkjk. Shit happens

How are you making out with this bro? Getting any better

Claudezilla's picture

Got an appointment for tomorrow morning since the ER wouldn’t do a damn thing for me…..so stupid it’s literally the size of a baseball maybe even bigger so hopefully they do whatever needs to be done I let my primary care doc know it’s urgent and not to just see me to make yet another appointment

Catalyst's picture

18g needle and see what you can drain out yourself. As long as you take care to be sterile, no real difference to what a doc could / should do.

JakeKO's picture

I always drain it myself, and take one Amoxicillin a day until it’s gone. It totally sucks to do, but it’s almost instant relief. I use a drawing syringe, and hit 3 to 4 spots per day. The yellow bloody substance that draws out is fuckin nasty, but you will feel immediate relief.

I’m not saying this is GOOD advice, but it’s what I’ve done myself on a least three different occasions

Claudezilla's picture

Time to go buy a scalpel and just poke it with a quarter inch incision and drain it like a giant pimple…I do have antibiotics on hand….idk what the fuck to so I’m so mad that they didn’t at least cut it open to check…if nothing great stitch me back up but if it would have oozed out take care of it fuck man smh and this is supposed to be the best clinic on the planet??? Really

In a promo × 1
JakeKO's picture

I wouldn’t use a scalpel, Bro. You don’t want to need stitches. If anything, jump in the shower, pull the plunger out of a syringe and drive that thing dead center. Apply pressure and it will hopefully drain some out. Ugh, I feel for ya Bro! My wife walked in on me draining one once and started flipping out on me telling me I was going to get a staff infection. I just laughed and said, well, it can’t be any worse than this. Her answer “uh, you can die, asshole!” LMAO! She doesn’t sugar coat shit

DeeMan's picture

Shit man how many have you drained from your body and how many CCs were you injecting that caused an abscess? Guess I've been lucky. Damn. How much were you injecting? @JakeKO

JakeKO's picture

Two of the occurrences was due to pinning crashed gear that I heated up. I have no idea what caused it the other few times. In hindsight, I wished I would have thought of draining it myself the first few times. I just suffered through it. I try to never pin more than 2cc these days, although, I’ve pinned 3cc several times to the glutes with a 25g 1.5” with no issues.

DeeMan's picture

Damn. Yeah no way I'm pinning 3 cc nowadays. And the absolute worst fking pip I've ever had was from badly crashed gear. In my opinion you have to keep that melting temperature steady for awhile because after warming for only a short time there are still crystals that haven't completely melted. That's what I've noticed.

JakeKO's picture

Yeah, I learned me lesson. If it’s crashed, it’s going in the trash

DeeMan's picture

It depends for me. Most times yes and other times I gotta put on the lab coat and start mixing shit up to make it way more stable lol. But yea most times it's not even worth the extra effort.

JakeKO's picture

For me it’s basically become guaranteed that I will get an abscess from crashed gear, so I’m straight up scared to even attempt it again. My last one was earlier this year with some DHB that crashed on me. It was perfectly fine before it crashed. A great source on here rushed me some great DHB, but being my one glute was already fucked up, I had to end the cycle because I was worried about pinning any other body parts with Quac.

DeeMan's picture

Yeah I remember that. You liked it at first too before all the problems. That damn dhb. Always issues. Maybe a lil overrated..maybe

Claudezilla's picture

I can’t reach it myself man or I’d have done it already and I do happen to have bought 3-14 day courses of 1000mg amoxicillin from one of my sources few weeks back because I am prone to getting this type of shit happen but it’s always gone away and this lump doesn’t hurt at all anymore and after 15 days I decided I better go in ( this is the Mayo Clinic anyone in the medical field will know they are absolutely one of the best clinics on this planet if not the best) and 4 docs doing rounds said it’s fine and to just keep an eye on it and follow up in a week.

In a promo × 1
JakeKO's picture

I couldn’t comfortably reach it either. I stood in a mirror and did it with one hand. Challenging to say the least

press1's picture

I've drained a few over the years too lol It definitely seems to prompt the healing process and get it cleared up. I use a 21G and go straight into the lump, absolutely kills but has to be done. The stuff I always get coming out is Grey/white oil lol I assume its white blood cells with compound oil. We don't advise it but it is an option if needs be.

JakeKO's picture

Yeah, it definitely sucks, but I healed quickly every time. I would definitely do it again in a heartbeat

press1's picture

Give 'A Man called Otto' a watch if you haven't seen it yet - I thought it was good!

JakeKO's picture

I definitely will. I loved both of the Extraction movies. Thanks for the Reco.

Drexyl's picture

A lot of us have had some nasty lumps over the years, sometimes it’s not deep enough, sometimes it’s infection, sometimes it’s the body reacting with inflammation. Personally I had one that didn’t start to go down for about 2 weeks (defunct source that gave lumps to many) that once it started shrinking it was gone in a matter of days. It the scan said there’s nothing to drain I’d definitely leave it alone. If there’s any infection in there you definitely don’t want to try sewing it. You hear all the stories of guys nicking a blood vessel while injecting tren then it winds up in their lungs etc, what do you think staph will do if disturbed and it leaves that pocket and winds up in your circulatory system? At least have some antibiotics already in your system if you go that route, I’m sure you’ll be fine buddy.

Claudezilla's picture

They just did an ultrasound on it and said it’s fine and nothing to drain….use compression on it until it goes away….I’m just not buying that

In a promo × 1
DeeMan's picture

I'm with on that. Yea an Ultrasound is a powerful imaging machine used in radiography but I wonder when was the last time they calibrated that ultrasound machine. But hey if they say so. Listen to them and do as they said and monitor. Hopefully you'll be good at the end.
