Just a little advice

ad

So been a little sluggish for a while now. Went to the doctor the other day to get my Bloods run my total test lvl are 382.9 ng/dl. He ask me about every question associated with low T lvls then tells me I might be depressed since about 3/4 of the town is.. WTF I'm thinking!! Just wondering if anyone else as run into this problem? And does that not seem low for a 38yr active male?

The lads here on eroids will all tell you, TRT is a life sentence. Exhaust all other options before going the exogenous testosterone route. Plus, if it's not actually low T that's effecting you, then it won't help you to get on TRT.

Two questions that are often over looked are:
1. Can you get better sleep?
2. What is your alcohol and nicotine intake?

Rough's picture

Agreed difently don't want TRT and my lvls aren't low for chatting with others. More sleep yes that would be nice but life does not permit sometimes. Don't drink or use tobacco products. Kinda of OCD with the whole health issue. Thanks for the advice will try and rest more.

+1 for no nicotine, brother. You'll never regret that decision.

Sleep deprivation and stress can kill your test levels, as well as fry your thyroid for that matter. However, if you've got your diet and exercise dialed in, as long as you're doing "the best you can do for now" with the time you have, you're assuring yourself the best results from your blood work data that you can have (as well as living the best life you can live always, which IS the point to ALL of this). Cheers brother!

You could also have a vitamin B difencincy but with out test from your doctor you won't know. Couple injections a week made the world for me but again have your doctor test you

So been a little sluggish for a while now

How long?

Rough's picture

About a year I would say.

Jayzgainz's picture

Has he checked your thyroid levels? Mine is underactive (hypo) and feeling sluggish, and even being depressed is one of the symptoms. Along with a whole host of other things

X2 on thyroid...and other pertinent BW that may help pin point the etiology of OPs signs and symptoms...

X3 on thyroid,......... it is the master hormone.

Given a choice of low testosterone or low thyroid I would rather have low testosterone, low thyroid is a really ass kicker. (and that is from personal experience).

ETA: you don't have low testosterone.

Thanks for all the input sometimes a guy gets tunnel vision and it takes the insight of others to look past it. Much appreciated.

Been active in the gym for some time now. Could always do more cardio. Stress well I am married with kids so there's always some stress, but thats life.
I guess I just feel run down and was wondering if that was a low reading. Thanks for the response.

Well that's odd. So… what happened?

Rough's picture

Noting so far. Just looking for some advice if anyone has had the simulor situation. All bloods looked good. So not sure if the lack of luster is just part if age.

I was just wondering if the doctor made any actual diagnoses. The depression comment almost seems lighthearted, as if he's not actually considering treating you for it.

Rough's picture

No actual diagnosis. You do have a good point.
