In Mexico, a judge has the right to make an “arraigo order”. What that is, is a bullshit law that allows a Mexican judge the right to hold someone, innocent or not, with little to no evidence for 80 days. This gives the policia enough time to gather evidence. After the 80 days, the judge has 72 hours to view the evidence and decide weather or not a person can be tried.
This is usually used for particularly heinous offenses and cartel arrests. I was informed my my sleazy
American border lawyer that I had been placed under an arragio order. This can be a good and a bad thing. Bad because 80 days in LaMesa is like 80 years. Seriously. Maybe more. It was good for me (according to my Lawyer) there was some doubt as to weather or not I was the one who assaulted the police officer.
You see kids, in Mexico, you don’t get to testify, people don’t testify..you have lawyers and cops huddle around a computer in a small room deciding your fate.

So there I am in La Mesa. I have money, and now I am a high roller. I have my carracas, my Playboy, a small security team of Mexican thugs for protection, one of which actually had a .25 auto pistola with a clip that held three bullets that he carried around. I shit you not, he ha an effing Saturday night Special in a mother effing prison. That’s how messed up this shit is.
I’m 40 days in and as messed up as it sounds...I’m starting to get comfortable. I did have the occasional run in, but handled my shit. It was one on one, no more of the group beatdowns.

I’ll never forget day 42...That’s the day I got my shirt back. (Sorry, but that’s all I’ll give today) Day 45 I got my shoes back, and day 46 I ate the best damn steak of my life. Yes, it was caballo Steak, but who gives a shit. It was steak in a Mexican prison.
I had money coming in, shit was handled at home, and I actually slept at night. I had a good woman named Juan takin care of me and I was...as we say it here on eroids...GTG.
