Bad gym week
Don't read if easily offended, or disgusted!
Had a bad gym week last week, thought I would share my disgusting story...
Was a little ill, and am a little intolerant to whey but I usually use enzymes to completely overcome that. I ran out, so on top of not feeling great I was differing a little bloating/farts etc. Unfortunately, en route to the gym, I suffered a shart. Ugh. Had to shuffle back to work and dispose of my undergarments... nice. Anyway, went back to the gym, and realised I was without a spare pair of boxers for the workout, so had to make a choice, use the boxers under gym shorts, or save the boxers for getting dressed after my shower. I chose the latter and went commando for the workout. Unforrrrrrtunately, I forgot I had removed the netting from the gym shorts (for comfort/aired out balls) and as I was pressing on a flat bench in front of the mirrored wall... my shorts were not quite covering their contents. The group of lads and hot young lady trying to workout near me caught an eyeful or 3 before I realised what was happening...... ugh
fuck it, finished the workout and kept the knees together.
But, as I was working away, I realised there was a funky.... filthy smell in the air.... WTF now? It wasnt another shart, which was great, but it was clearly a fishy smell... and I mean dirty-old-person-on-a-bus fishy smell.... gack.... Then I remembered the Mrs. cooked last night... her famous salmon chowder... but she friend the fish which clearly stunk out my clothes which were on a drying rack.... ugh
I realised that I was the creepy older juiced up lifter, with no shorts, who stank of fish, flashes people in the gym..... ugh
Went home, prepped for the next day, back to the gym.... realised that all of my clothes stunk of fish... including my gym hat.
It took 3 days to realise she had been drying clothes in the stink room, then putting them (kindly) away for me into my clothes chest of droors.
Not the worst gym experience, but a bad gym week indeed...

I know this is an old post but what enzymes do you use to overcome the bloating?
I think the worst thing that ever happened to me was i got shit on my bike seat then on my shorts, i thought the gym smelled like shit, but not, it was me.
EDIT: no idea how it got there, wasn't mine.
Somebody was taking the bike for a different type of ride before you got there! filthy!

Dude we have all been there bro. I've personally puked and sharted on those heavy days lifting to the max (squats and deadlifts)!! I got in the habit of always keeping 2 changes of clothes with me. This is what separates the men from the boys. You pushed through regardless. Oh and the fish smell. If you can cook it outside. That's what we do.

Last year I was on a Quad machine and as I got up I smelt something disgusting. I thought it was some one near me but low and behold the pretty girl in front of me had just started her period and was leaving traces on the seats. This was the first set of leg day and suddenly became the last. I knew better then to try and explain that at home so I trashed those gym shorts and took a shower. I don't remember the brand of my shorts but will always remember smell of her brand.
A true gentleman would of followed her to every machine she used and clean up after her.
Sounds more like something a dog would do.

Well, shit happens. You are certainly dedicated to continue with your workout after sharting. Maybe try an egg white protein powder, farts and sharts free.

Yes, I have been rotating my protein sources more these days (in terms of meat eggs fish). May be worth investigating, cheers fella
Lol. My money says it is the lactose intolerance from the milk based protein. I stopped drinking milk completely, raises estrogen levels anyways. I drink coconut milk instead, and as I said before use egg white protein powders for shakes. Otherwise, you may want to keep a couple extra pairs of shorts, and a few garbage bags for clean up in your gym bag.

I think when these guys are talking about staying away from the whey they're referring to the cheaper concentrates. Isolate is a much better and cleaner for of whey and is just as good if not better. It's not usually the whey aspect of the powders that is the issue it's the lactose that makes it an issue. I am very intolerant of the whey concentrates which are great when on a budget but when I switched to the isolate I noticed a significant difference plus the amount of protein you get is pretty much if not the same as in the concentrates. No need for hydrolized whey isolate though. The different between regular isolate and the hydrolized isn't significant enough to justify the cost.

Without a doubt, the concentrate does the most damage. I consume isolates for the workout and only consume concentrates at night/bedtime. Now the only thing I would say is that it is a fantastic slow digesting protein source, perfect for sleep time if you can tolerate it. But I reckon I will do a mini experiment and drop the concentrate for raw egg whites instead, see how we fare
Re: Hydrolized: it makes sense on paper but as you say not on the pocket, in particular when cheap enough enzymes do the biz anyway
I workout at night so I actually mix my shakes with water, 8 oz liquid egg whites, a scoop of isolate and some cyto gain since I'm bulking right now anyway. Besides BCAA's I only supplement with those thing post workout. Everything else is real food it's worked out pretty well!
You cant beat the raw egg whites!
Ive ditched the bcaa's for leucine in the past year.
Other than whey, vitargo, oil, vit's and minerals I don't really do the supplement thing

You dont take any L-Arginine for better pumps and libido? When i was younger I was all about taking that N02 crap that they sold out of the locked case for like $120.00 for 80 caps, i looked at its main ingredient and its L-Arginine thats $30.00 for 180caps. Do you have any opinion on a supplement such as that?

I have in the past used supplements containing L-Arginine but I can honestly say that I never experienced any pumps different from the norm, maybe it is dose dependent
I do use cialis for NO / pumps sometimes, doesn't do anything for the libido but gets the general ready for battle when needed, great for NO/pumps too, imo
To be honest, I practice cell swelling techniques and bloodflow restriction with intraset stretching which pretty much makes pump supplements redundant!
Most research out there is on stand alone ingredients, and not blends or multi-compound products, so your approach to go for something on its own is best practice as far as I am concerned. Something to consider when looking at anything's efficacy is the actual amount needed, Glutamine falls into that category, and you can pretty much rule it out as a result.
Never trust a fart, but the plus side is you have a woman that cooks you dinner and does your laundry and any woman that does that can do no wrong. And you have to watch out with the boys and their taller brother getting loose, enrique with the man bun might get the wrong impression.

RustyhookerPure whey isolate is easier . Concentrate is lactose loaded. Drop the shakes for real foods.
Good call. My big Bro told me to only take a shake when time doesn't allow for the real foods.

I use 100% unflavoured whey isolates for pwo (and vitargo), - sometimes my body tolerates it, sometimes not, but the enzymes sort it completely. I reckon its the concentrate at bed time that does the most damage though....
edit: I think you are right, most dfefinitely on the concentrate.............. I reckon, dropping it in favour of raw eggs might make for a better nigh-time drink
RustyhookerMy favorite brand was a pure whey in 5lb jug. Bout a year later bloat and gas got horrible. They switched their recipe from isolated to concentrated and isolate second on the label.
Their new one is isolate and egg. It didnt bug me at all.
