How many of you guys Homestead, raise live stock. The wife and I raise chickens, goats, turkeys and a few geese. We have close to 150 chickens, 3 goats, 2 turkeys and 4 geese. Please feel free to share your homesteading tips and tricks and of course pictures of your animals.

Were you there when she gave birth then buddy, did you see them come out?
Was it at home or the vets it happened?
Yeah she had the pups yesterday morning at 5am, she done so good cleaning and taking care of the pups.
I assume they still have their eyes closed do they mate - when do they open them up?
Yeah their born with their eyes closed and they usually open them around day 12 give or take a few days.
Ohh really - so quite a long time with them closed then. I imagined it was after a day or 2 they opened them. Why is this then, is it to protect their eye development? Can they walk yet or do they just crawl about and lay on the ground most of the time?

Yeah it's so their eyes have time to develop right. Right now they just lay around they can crawl a little bit but not much. If the mom is a good mom she will guide them to her tit's to feed if not then we have to make sure they stay within wobbling distance so they can feed. Right now all they do is sleep and eat. Around week 3 they can start seeing good and moving around. So they will be walking good around week 4.
So what happens during the night then - Do you have to take it in turns between you and your wife to get up and check on them, make sure they can feed etc?
It's mostly the wife, but yeah we check in on her every couple hours, she's done good so far
Little momma had 5 pups, this was her first litter and she's done so good.

We're going to keep the one you like and sell the rest, we can get between 800 and a 1000 per pup, and Boston Terriers are a really popular breed so we shouldn't have any issues selling them. I really wish I could keep all 5 of the pups but we already have 4 grown Boston Terriers so with keeping one pup we'll have 5. Their great dogs very well mannered and smart, they love playing with the chickens, it's a trip to watch the chickens chase the dogs.

Little momma has a litter due within the next week. Took her to the Vet for a health check and to get her an xray to see how many pupsshe might have, Doc said to expect 3 but he thought there was a 4th puppy in there. We're excited for the pups to get here.

We really do get all the fun as males don't we - Just go around impregnating all the bitches at will and they are the poor fuckers who have to deal with the aftermath of getting pregnant and carrying/having the baby LOL Mind you - if you are human they get you in the end by demanding you support them both both several years after having it LMFAO
I lost my Boston terrier named Lilly year before last. I miss her so much. She was such a good girl. She was my first and only dog. I never knew you could love a dog that much.
I hate to hear that bro, I know it must have been hard. We have 4 Boston Terriers and this litter that's coming any day now. Boston's are the best, so we'll behaved and smart. Their great to have around the farm, I take them out to the Chicken coops every night and let them hunt mice and let me tell you they are some great hunters.
