+ 10 Dangers of Milk Thistle
I commented on an older post but I have seen a lot of people advising others to add milk thistle to their support supplements while on orals. Just thought I’d spread some info that I discovered by accident when I was dealing with a separate health issue years ago. This isn’t to put down milk thistle but to give advice on the proper time to actually use it.
To simplify things
1. Don’t take milk thistle while taking orals(I suggest tudca, Dandelion, ect)
2. Take milk thistle for 6-8 weeks after you stop taking orals (this can be mixed with whatever other liver support your taking, just not while on oral steroids).
The reason you might ask? Milk thistle can inhibit certain liver enzymes, specifically the Cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, including CYP3A4 and CYP2C9, which are responsible for breaking down many compounds/medications in the body. Many orals such as tbol, dbol, anadrol get metabolized by this enzyme. So the actual enzyme that is breaking down this toxic compound you’re inhibiting by taking milk thistle. Now when you stop taking the oral that’s not a problem and the other benefits of milk thistle start to shine.

I had no idea. I was about to up my dose of milk thistle because of a post the other day. Good looking out!!
That sounds just like why they tell people on pain meds not to eat or drink grapefruits. It inhibits certain enzymes and potentiates the effects of the opiates.
Ya the grapefruit has similar effects it actually can intensify the effects of opiates along with blood thinners due to the drug circulating for a longer time
Thanks for sharing, brother man! Great write-up … this info is gold.
Thank you, I was once the guy who was hammering milk thistle with every oral and once I discovered this I just felt like I was holding a dirty secret everyone should know lol
Excellent Post!
what about taking nac with tudca?
That seems to be a good combo that’s what I’m taking now, I use to buy this 5 in 1 supplement that had nac, tudca, dandelion, milk thistleand ginseng until I found out about the milk thistle. Now I take everything but that until I’m done with orals
Milk thistle is also liver toxic in high doses!
Most people don’t realize you can overdose on milk thistle and it can become very toxic.
Ya it’s wild that it’s not talked about more. To be fair most of the research iv come across is fairly new articles so maybe it’s a recent discovery as in the last 5 years or so
VERY Interesting mate!!
I would always advise people take TUDCA before using MT too - TUDCA is just so much more effective. Only drawback to TUDCA I find is the VILE taste of it, so to take it you have to be able to swallow down capsules which personally I can't as they make me gip LOL So when using capsules I will open them up and decant the contents into a drink and do it that way - NOW with TUDCA that is just impossible and I challenge anyone to try it LMAO I've tried to make the taste more tolerable with everything known to man but you just cannot get rid of the bitterness of it.
If you don't want to take either of the above, then using Astragalus Root powder and Artichoke extract (does the same thing as TUDCA) plus grape seed extract work great for the liver also. B12, 1g Vit C tabs, Vit D, 50mg Zinc, all work great too.
Bro you ain’t lyin, I fucked up one time and took mine with hot coffee and that fucker dissolved in my mouth instantly. I was gagging on the way to work 30 min straight--
P.s ur tellin me you can’t swallow caps but u can raw dog powder??? lol your an animal
Yeah mate - its like the Devil has literally just pissed battery acid in your mouth with Tudca. VILE VILE Shit. If you mix up some cordial juice with water then decant all your caps and powders into it, it can still taste good. I use to do drinks where EVERYTHING went into them and it tasted like you were drinking Soil LMAO Works though!!! I thought at first with Tudca that I got a bad batch and surely not all of it could taste like that - I was wrong.
Yeah once Tudca powder is in your mouth NOTHING will over ride the taste of it, you are stuck dry heaving for however long it lingers.
I take all my orals straight up. Like God intended.
I like to crush them up and pack my lip with them when I run out of zyns
Plugging?
What's plugging? Up my butt? I'm down to try. Probably most certainly bypasses the liver that way and goes straight to the biceps.
Boofing
Vodka, tampons insert in ass drunk as fuck
Definitely gonna look into this. What about running milk thistle while taking tren? Do happen to have any info on that?
So this is just my opinion you can do your own research and make a decision but orals get processed through the liver and metabolize via Cytochrome P450. While certain injectables (tren being one of them) also get processed the same way but to a lesser degree due to it being injected vs taken orally and hitting the liver twice as hard. The way I see it if the liver is playing any part of breaking down a toxic compound I wouldn’t want to inhibit it from doing its job and that’s what milk thistle does. Even thought it’s a lesser degree you could stack tudca, dandelion and many other supplements to protect your liver while leaving milk T out and get better results. Now once your off the heavy compounds milk thistle is great. Your liver just needs to be done breaking down said compounds to be able to utilize it
Hmm.. I’ve never heard this before. Currently taking milk thistle but only now in the last small stretch while running Anavar. Had been using Tudca and other liver protectants before hand.
Ya the only reason I found out was due to me having to take a medication that was liver toxic and me trying to be proactive, I was taking all these supplements until my liver enzymes came back worse and worse month after month until my doctor intervened and asked if I was using anything else. That’s when he informed me of how milk thistle works and then I did my own research . If you just type into google “why shouldn’t I take milk thistle on oral anabolic steroids” you should get the bullshit AI version and then some other links to more info
