+ 1 First cycle help

ad

What's up, I'm new to the forum and gear, I've been training for years, I'm 42 years old and I am 5'10" 189lbs, I've reached a point of wanting to get some help adding some more muscle to my frame. I have been reading and researching online about first cycles and what to take and from what I understand some test for my first cycle is what I should do, I was going to do sustanon but after more research I see that's not what I should take, I have ordered a blood test and should be taking it in several days, I need help with which test would be the best for my first time and I also have thought about adding anavar with it. If anyone could give me some guidance I'd really appreciate it. I am 189 lbs and 18 percent body fat. I'm trying my best to make good decisions on all this. I just need some help. I train 3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off, my whole body twice a week. Thanks for any help.

Can someone help me with exactly what pins I need for test c, hcg? I found pins on Amazon but want to make sure I get the right ones. Thanks

For hcg you use insulin syringes, for Test i use a 3ml , 24g 1 inch syringe, some people use insulin syringe for test which is least painful but you need to have a low body fat some use 27g 1/2" insulin syringe .

Thanks brotha. I appreciate it

No problem also don’t forget the alcohol wipes, always wipe the vial's rubber top before u draw and wipe the injection site. Good luck

I ended up getting 3 bottles of test c, aromasin, and nolva, I ordered an at home blood test for test levels, do I need a different kind of blood test or will that work, I feel like the answer to that is I need a full panel blood test to check more than my test before I begin? If so when I get the blood test exactly what do I need to pay attention to? How will I know if I'm ok to go ahead? Also how do I give people a vote when they have been helpful? Thanks for the help guys, btw this my current physique training natural, I've trained hard and had the best nutrition I know how to do in my own. I posted the pic to show my dedication to my body and the gym so people will take my inquiries seriously and help me out lol. Looking to get my legs fuller and I want that capped delts and traps! Thanks for all help

^Here is a pretty good thread on lab resources if you're in the states. As Sparta stated though, if you haven't done your annual physical with your PCP yet, I'd schedule one with him or her. Your annual physical usually includes relatively comprehensive labs that you can utilize as your baseline. You don't have to tell your doc that you're going to run gear if you don't want to. Depending on your health coverage you may save money going this route too.

https://www.eroids.com/forums/steroids-qa/steroid-cycles/blood-work-bibl...

^Here is a pretty decent thread on what you're looking for when interpreting your results.

There are quite a few things to look at with lab values. I mean frankly, if everything in your baseline labs are within the "normal" range then you can start by looking for outliers while on cycle. Although I am not a physician or APP, I work in medical and actually enjoy reviewing lab results for the most part. If you want to redact personal info and send me a friend request, you can message me when you get your lab results and I can go over them with you. I can try to explain what your looking at and what any potential outliers can indicate.

...Or you can do what Sparta said and just post them in the forum (also redacted). A lot of knowledgeable folks here...

Thanks bro I really appreciate your help. I've spent a lot of years reading, training, reading about gear, trying my best to tap out my natural potential. I was just worried that I was too old to run gear and bounce back. I appreciate you being willing to help me.

+1 for posting up. Pretty good physique bro, looks like you got some hard work under your belt already. If you have a PCP, it’s probably easiest to go to him/her and ask to have annual bloodwork done. What to look for? You just don’t want to see anything crazy before you start your cycle. You can always edit out the personal information, post your bloods here and let us arm chair docs have a look as well. Yeah, lol, imo, nothing says monster like a nasty top shelf.

Ikeyluv82's picture

Thanks brother I appreciate the compliment, I remember wanting to run gear long time ago and reading some things about tapping out your genetic potential before you try the gear, and to see what I'm made of by doing it naturally and what I could do naturally so I feel like I probably could have some good results by adding the right things at the right times. There's just so much information on the internet and so much bad information as well as someone just said to me, I think I found some guys who are trying to help me I appreciate your help.

Np bro, that’s what we do here is try and pull each other up. Yeah, theres a lot of conflicting information out there. The dude I follow is Vigorus Steve on YouTube. I pretty much just let that dude have the wheel and run his program

Awesome bro I'll check it out. Thanks for the add too

This is one of those questions that I feel is so specific to each individual and goal. Test only on your first cycle is an intelligent decision (I was not as intelligent). However, I did run short esters my first cycle. Incase shit hit the fan, I could just pull my ripcord last minute and stop. I usually suggest in situations with little info provided (if you can tolerate the injection frequency) that a 8-10/wk test p cycle is a good starting point. As others have stated I would skip the Var. Imo the rewards are minimal and not worth what potentially comes with it.

Test only for first cycle. C or E.

When you train your whole body twice a week what's that look like? How long does that take you?

been doing legs on Monday when fresh, Tuesday has been a chest and back superset 4 exercises each body part, shoulders and arms traps calfs Wednesday, off Thurs, start over again on Friday. My sessions usually last an hour maybe 70 min but intense work, short rest, my shoulders and arms traps calf is a little longer due to hitting all the exercises but 75 min give or take, im consuming 2700 calories but am starting to reduce to trim some body fat, was hoping to add gear to continue to grow while reducing body fat and not losing any muscle. I'm very teachable and open to constructive criticism. Ok no var, and what would be a good starter dose, I was going to use nolva for pct?

Bloodwork. Test E (or C). More Bloodwork. No var.

Chigs's picture

Why do you recommend no var out of curiousty?

23Sparta's picture

Because it is not proper form. The genius behind running test only as a first cycle, is it allows you one on one time with the compound that is and forever will be the foundation of all your future cycles. Without any other distractions, you need to experience and learn from your own individual response to testosterone. Remember this…. more is not better and var is not harmless. Although, granted, anavar is a wonderful compound and perfectly suited for a second cycle along side testosterone imo. Why use anavar when it isn’t necessary? It’s your first cycle, take advantage of the fact that you’re gonna make amazing gains on just testosterone alone. Why be greedy? Why make things unnecessarily complicated? Adding var will decimate your HDL, and also cause your organs some distress. These side effects are manageable, with addition of ancillary supplemental support, if you wanna fuck around worry about that while your getting a grip on all things you have to worry about the first time running test too. It’s just doing too much bro imo. Proper training, proper rest, and proper nutrition is how you get results. Those thought processes that allow you to believe that these compounds magic…. and the ones that have you thinking that more is better…. you wanna nip those in the bud

23Sparta's picture

Thanks bro. Yeah, I love anavar, but another thing too though…. for me personally…. var can make sneaky snappy and aggressive. Not something you want to discover, and have to address, while you’re also trying to figure out testosterone

Chigs's picture

What do ya mean exactly “var can make sneaky snappy and aggressive”? I assume you mean it makes ya irritable but the sneaky part throws me off. Also how long and what dosage have you messed around with var. just started var for the first time doin 40mg a day (20 mg 1 ml in the am 20mg 1ml in the pm oral)

23Sparta's picture

By “sneaky” I mean you don’t expect it due to Anavar’s reputation as being a mild compound. It’s still a dht derivative, and I believe all of them have that potential. I’ve used Anavar at dosages ranging from 10 - 75mg per day, preworkout only, 2x split dose, 3x split dose, oral and injectable.

My last run was 5mg x 2 daily and I still noticed some irritability. Remember, this is just me and everyone responds differently

Chigs's picture

Very properly put wasn’t trying to be a ball bag genuinely curious for myself and you shined some light, much appreciated homie!

23Sparta's picture

Np bro. lol, I actually thought it was the OP that I was responding to

Ikeyluv82's picture

No var, understood, do you recommend a starter dose with test? I was gonna run for ten weeks? Good or no?

In a promo × 1
Tony_C's picture

If your looking for a generic starting point:

Test E or C = 250mg E3D (12 weeks)
Test P = 100mg EOD (8 weeks)

All is contingent on your labs and person. Remember, contrary to popular belief, when it comes to gear and long term health... less is more. Keep basic ancillaries on hand, take support supplements, and PCT (unless you're going on TRT).

E3D = Every Third Day
EOD = Every Other Day

Ikeyluv82's picture

Advice on ancillaries to take and how to take them with cycle? I was going to order nolva for pct, is that what I should do? Thank you for your help

Bearded_muscle's picture

Good advice below. I recommend starting at 300 for the first 2-3 weeks and then increasing to 400 if everything is well tolerated, then 400 for 2-3 weeks before increasing to 500 if everything is well tolerated.

This also gives you the option of holding at a lower dose if it’s working well. If you’re feeling great and progressing at 300 mgs keep it there, cycle 2 can be 400, and cycle 3 can be 500. Everyone responds a little differently so you need to learn how your body gets on with anabolics.

23Sparta's picture

Solid plan. Don’t want to paint yourself into a corner running gear that isn’t even necessary. The least amount required to achieve the desired results. Basic pharmacology

23Sparta's picture

I recommend 500mg per week. Although, you could use less and still achieve remarkable results. I personally would go longer than 10 weeks, provided your health markers allow.

Ikeyluv82's picture

Ok I've made the decision to run test c, how long do you suggest I cycle for? I am going to buy test c, is 2 vials enough? I also am going to purchase nolva and should I use hcg as well or can I go without it? If I am missing something please let me know, thank you

23Sparta's picture

You’re 42. Does your upcoming precycle bloodwork include a hormone panel? Do you know what your natty testosterone levels are? That value would influence my decision on whether to attempt to pct or stay on trt. As far as if two vials of test c are going to be enough, I’d get three. If it’s dosed at 250mg per ml, that’s 15 weeks at 500mg. Although, I suggest you follow the Beard’s advice…. start low, only increase if necessary and if health markers allow. As far as length, idk bro, I don’t like putting a number on it. It’s gonna depend on how you respond physically and mentally. If your BP hits 180 after 6 weeks and you can’t manage it, then it’s a six week cycle. If after 10 weeks, you’re having a blast and your health markers look good… why would you stop? I would say 12-14 weeks is a good range to plan for. 10 is too short in my opinion. I personally believe it takes time to build tissue that you can hold on to. Others think different, take it all with a grain of salt. Buy an aromatase inhibitor, I recommend Aromasin. You’re gonna have to pull bloods 4-6 weeks in to see how badly you aromatize. That value, in conjunction with any side effects or symptoms you are having, will determine if an AI is necessary.

Thank you brotha..

I second this. A lot is contingent on you personally... labs, lifestyle, response, results, etc.

If you're looking cookie cutter:
Test C @250mg IM M/F (500mg/wk; Weeks 1-12)
Nolvadex @10mg PO morning & evening (20mg/ed; Week 14-18)
HCG @1000iu SQ M/W/F (3000iu/wk; Weeks 14-18)
Aromasin - PO on hand (if needed during cycle; dosage and frequency varies).
SUPPORT SUPPLEMENTS!

You only have one body and 42 is still young. Listen to your body and trend your labs and blood pressure. Definitely get a baseline. At 42 you may benefit from TRT alone and may just want to consider discussing that with your doc.

Ikeyluv82's picture

Hey bro what support supps you referring to? Liver guard?

In a promo × 1
Tony_C's picture

I take a decent amount:
Methylated Multivitamin
Fish Oil
CoQ10 (I use the Injectable form)
Liv52
Glutathione (I use the Injectable form)
Saw Palmetto
Cinnamon
Dandelion Root Tea
Pre-workout
...I'm sure I'm missing something.

Ikeyluv82's picture

Thanks bro, I'm working on adding in supplements to keep my body healthy and I'm trying to learn what I need and can get by without. Thanks man

No problem. There are also a lot of vitamin/mineral supplements out there that are specifically formulated for aas support. Some people are partial to them.
...I also recommend a good probiotic as well.

Ikeyluv82's picture

I am in great shape and was really considering just looking at going on trt to keep my test levels high but I was not sure if I could still build the physique im looking for on trt only. I appreciate your input. I'm trying my best to make an informed decision.

Tony_C's picture

I think you'd be surprised. I mean is it just for aesthetics? Maybe consider going that route (TRT) first and then going down the rabbit hole if you don't get over that hump. Just my two cents.

I'm not going to be a hypocrite though. I started too early, dosing too much, with below basic knowledge, and absolutely no labs. I wouldn't recommend playing russian roulette with your body though.

Although unlikely at the dosage discussed, there are some gnarly AAS horror stories out there. Seems like you've already made your decision. Please just do your homework and take all the precautions.
