+ 1 Been here a while, but finally have time to be active and join the community.

ad

Well, I guess I'll start out by saying I was an active contributing member back in 2014 through 2016 before having a few major health issues which pretty much took me outta the gym completely for the better part of 4 years.
I finally got the majority of the problems beat and began attempting to build myself back up from basically nothing, but it proved to be more than I expected and mu body wasn't responding the way it used to.

I have always tall and thin, 6'2" 130lbs was my norm. I could eat all day long or just once every other day and not gain or lose any weight.
when I was younger I was teased a lot and after high school I started looking into aas, thinking it would fox the problem.
BUT, I'm not an idiot and as much as I wanted to take (what I thought to be) a shortcut, I ended up deciding against it after doing a few weeks of non stop research on, nutrition, cycles, side effects, medical disorders, weight lifting, metabolism, and everything else in between.
I decided after talking to many many experienced people and after doing my own research that I needed to focus on a lot more first before running gear, and even more importantly I needed to educate myself on every aspect.
So I went to college to be a personal trainer and that began the journey.
I was about 22 before I finally felt I had enough knowledge to actually attempt to put on some muscle and had the time and money to invest.
To make this super long story a bit shorter oll just say that ver the next year and a half I did finally put on some weight but couldn't seem to get above 150. I was eating about 4kcal per day, lifting 4 days a week, getting sleep, proper amounts of protein, etc but couldn't break past that 150lb mark.
That's when I ran my first cycle, 500mg test e and dbol to kick start....after 8 weeks I finished and was at 164lbs...ran put and kept lifting and 3mo later I was still holding round 165lbs.
I ran several more cycles with varying gear and dosing over the next few years with varying success but it wasn't until I went all out and ran a 10 week cycle of 750mg sust, 600mg tren e, 600mg masteron e, 500mg deca, with drol kick start, and anavar for the 10wks plus another 4. I also bumped up my protein and carb daily intake but spread it out into a lot more smaller portions per day thinking it would stay more constant and never be more than my body could absorb.
I also had to eat between 5500-7000 calories per day. it was absolutely miserable eating so much I literally couldn't swallow another bite. The tren gave me night sweats so bad I bought a seperate mattress to sleep on after soaking ours so bad you could feel it soaked through the bottom.
I put on almost 40lbs and when all was said and done kept 35 of it putting me at 185lbs. which doesn't sound like a lot for a guy who is 6'2" but I have small bone structure, and was told by everyone including my wife and mom I had to stop lifting because I was gross big lol.
I think it wasn't so much that I was big, more than the effects of tren...I'm naturally shredded and veiny so it did get pretty gross looking...veins on my back, triceps, hell my obliques and lats even had veins showing.
I finally had got where I wanted to be and maintained it until o got sick and then fast forward a few years and I am back to 130lbs and weaker than I've ever been.
I got back on here about a year and half ago I believe, with plans of getting right back into the mix of it and placed a few orders but I didn't want to run a cycle until I plateaud naturally....thinking it would take me 2 months or so.
Nope...took almost 4 mo to hit 150, body was just so weak and bones and joints hurt so bad sometimes I'd be out of the gym for 4 or 5 days.
Finally I decided to give it a go again and it was like magic how fast it all came back, felt like nothing ever happened...I ran a short simple cycle, then began another about 3mo ago.
I was about 4 weeks in when I hurt my shoulder at work, assuming I had just strained it or bruised it I continued working and lifting but the pain kept getting worse and worse, then about month and half ago I just picked my daughter up off the playground equipment (she's light..60lbs) and my shoulder felt like it just came apart and I lost all strength.
I don't have insurance so avoid going to Dr as much as possible plus I can get more debt than I've already racked up from the last time, but I knew something was bad wrong.
My wife noticed as soon as I took my shirt off that my shoulder had a big bump sticking up. it hurt to touch it even lightly and stuck out a solid 3/4".
After a little research I figured it out, torn acl...it has completely torn away now, it's causing my shoulder blade to feel like it pushing kinda in on my back and my arm falls forward.
I spoke with a friend who is an rn and she said surgery is the only fix but that's not an option right now, I lost my business, and had to sell just about all we owned just to pay for part of my last medical bills, so idk if/when getting a surgery will be an option.
So now here I am, guess I have the time now to maybe be more active again on here, maybe get or give some advice, but I feel there isn't a more of a supportive group who (for the most part) know what I'm going through and I can trust to steer me right.
Anyways, I know this is a long ass intro, I tend to get carried away, sorry.
I am currently going on a almost 2weeks without putting any strain on it and it feels better but still is excruciating anytime I try to lift my arm straight out or above me.
Perhaps some of you have some experience with this injury or know something that could be of use to me....excersizes, or stretches, idk...I read that without surgery the issue will always remain since tendons don't heal but it said you can focus on building stabilizer muscles to help prevent your arm from dropping forward so easily and the more strength gained, the more use I'll have.
So if anyone has advice I'd love to hear it...if not, that's ok...I'm just glad to finally get my ass back in here...I miss the support and feeling like I'm appreciated by those who need advice. I'm pretty much surrounded my women all day every day who can't relate.

Sorry you're going through that. I developed a somewhat similar issue after warming up (with the 45# bar) on behind the neck presses. It was diagnosed as impingement syndrome and I was able to fully regain my strength and almost fully regained my range of motion with aggressive physical therapy. My college roommate incurred a winged scapula which balled up in his shoulder blade similar to what you describe. Injuries are a depressing part of this lifestyle if you redline your training too much.

press1's picture

So you have seen this kind of condition then as I have never heard of it before? How did your friend recover from this - Surgery or did it heal itself?

P1nh3d's picture

This was around 23-24years ago, but if I remember correctly he was told he could not do any upper body lifting for a year and he had to do physical therapy and some electro-stim treatment. He was able to workout again after a year but never could return to the weight he was using prior to his injury.

press1's picture

This all just seems like craziness to me, also reading the information below. Are you honestly telling me that over there if you have something as bad/debilitating as this and you don't have health insurance there is just nothing at all that can be done to help you? That you just have to live the rest of your life without the use of an arm if you cannot afford to personally fix it? That's just madness.

What about coming over to the UK with your child, then after a few weeks here going to hospital and saying you have just done the same thing, that you have injured yourself playing with your child? Not sure about all the legalities involved with you not being a UK citizen but they sure as hell would fix you back up for nothing, just book a few months stay here.

lol...Sad to say, but yes...America has an absolutely horrible health care system....I cannot give much more info than I've already given without basically telling the world who I am, but let's just say that I have exhausted every option possible and nothing remains.
I've sat in the ER here for 12hrs with a fractured neck and in some of the worst pain I've ever felt (besides kidney stones) and they ignored me all the while, I watched crackhead after crackhead get taken back and sent away within an hr with prescriptions for opiates, when I finally got taken back they didn't even do a simple xray and sent me away with no pain killers, not even a neck brace.
I libed with that pain and unable to barely turn my head for almost a year, went back 3 times in that year only to be sent away again with them saying that if it was serious I wouldn't be walking.
Wasn't until I went to a chiropractor and he noticed something wasn't right and ordered x-rays until I found it my neck had been fractured and had healed back wrong.
I have had multiple surgeries where the hospitals have called me to confirm the surgery days AFTER rhe surgery had been completed....I had a stint left in me after kidney stones were removed and they told me one was not in me (even on the paperwork) until weeks passed with me peeing more blood than urine, and infection almost killed me.
I can go on and on and with much worse stories....maybe I'm just unlucky or maybe it's because I've had so many health issues I have been in the hospital much more than most people, but either way, it's not well managed and very little help is available to those who truly need it.
I lost a friend a few years back over an abscessed tooth...couldn't afford to get it pulled (and yes I know people say it's only 200 bucks) but it obviously was more than he had and didn't know how serious it was. he went to the er and they sent him away with no pain killers, no antibiotics, no blood tests, nothing....told him to go to a dentist and get it pulled....2 days later he was gone.
The infection was so severe it spread through his blood and it killed him. His life was my worth 200 bucks.
I'm sure any person even a stranger would have paid for him to get the tooth removed but when u get to that point where u cannot afford 200 to save your life, then you cannot possibly understand how embarrassing and degrading it is. You would never ask anyone, and the majority of people don't know how serious the problem is until its too late.
As far as leaving the country, well America also has laws that prevent that in many situations....for instance, if you owe ANY back child support....so that's no an option for most people including myself either.
Trust me when I say I've exhausted every option possible besides begging for help , which I will never do.
I understand it may be hard to believe that this is the way it is, I have close friends who told me flat out I was lying because they had different experiences than me...until I showed them first hand....there isn't much ryhme or reason here when it come to getting any type of help...even the options that are created just for people in my situation are not guaranteed and they still are selective.
some people just get the shit end of the stick.

They won't, you need to be enrolled in NHS to receive services outside of emergency.
You'd have to go there and claim asylum

press1's picture

How would things stand if say he got a new job over there that came with good health insurance, then after 3 months he claimed on it? Or do they do a health screening first to stop claims like that?

Catalyst's picture

Just don’t do it this week. They’re on strike…..

press1's picture

Lmfao! Those greedy Junior Doctors wanting a 35% pay rise eh!! Hey seriously though bud - would he get away with doing that if he was going to be here for a while?

Catalyst's picture

Well he wouldn’t be the first, that’s for sure. Shit situation for the guy, not good to hear of a young bloke in that situation.

Kaido's picture

press1 well said brother!

Complexed, if you have lost everything where you live, why not take your family and move somewhere better?
There are many places where the health system supports you for free in cases like that!

Also, I don't know what kind of research you have done, but from what I know, there is no exercise you can do to strengthen the supportive systems of an arm that cannot move correctly, or can't move at all.

Complexed's picture

we've thought about moving but not an option because I can't get a passport due to owing back child support.
honestly it's not the end of the world dealing with this, I've been through much worse and came out alive lol, I just wanted to know if anyone maybe knew of ways to help prevent it from getting worse.
I've done extensive research, medical journals, studies, and personal experiences on forums....Ifrom what I've gathered surgery is the only option to fully regain use and strength and that is something I will continue to look into, BUT if surgery isn't an option I've read in numerous places that you can strengthen surounding/stabilizing muscles to help take the load off and make day to day life easier.
From my understanding, the pain isn't going to go anywhere and I'll just have to deal with it which is fine, not a stranger to chronic pain and I will not take pain medication at all so I've learned to block out most of it...at least the majority of the time.

Can you lift your arm straight up with no problem? Is it extremely difficult to do any type of chest press ? At night is the pain worse than during the day ? I just had rotator cuff surgery myself and I'm glad I did. You must try to get on some sort of medicade or temporary insurance and get the mri. The mri is important it will let you know exactly what's going g on. I recommend doing whatever you can to get the mri than go from there.

Complexed's picture

I CAN lift my arm straight up but it hurts like he'll my shoulder blade feels like it's digging into my back a d downwards...I don't qualify for any insurance or medicaid/care.
Due to past health issues and existing, the cheapest health insurance I can get will cost me several hundred a month and the deductible is same near as high as an mri.
I also learned the hard way that insurance will find a way of getting out of just about anything claiming it isnt necessary.
I don't need an mri though to know what's wrong, A torn acl has very specific symptoms and there isn't anything else that it could be.
I've checked around and it's looking like the surgery will run between 18 to 30k minimum and that just isn't in the cards anymore, I could hit the lottory tomorrow for a mil and still wouldn't be able to afford it lol.
That's why I am trying to make the best of a crap situation and prevent further damage.

Than I'd look into peptides bpc 157 & tb 500. Also
mk677. Growth hormone as well. Deca has helped me a lot. Also you're probably going to have to switch around your routines possibly to high reps that what I did. When I say high reps I mean anything from 25 to 70.

Complexed's picture

thank you for the recommendations I will look into the peptides.
Hgh is outta the question, not only financially but I have other issues that hgh would only make far worse.
I had my hand taken off by a windows falling from the 2nd floor on a job sight and only a small piece of skin and half the radius remained connected. I was told after getting surgery I'd be very lucky with a lot of physical therapy to ever make a fist again.
the physical therapy wasn't pushing me enough nor doing anything I didn't already do on my own so I stopped going after a week. I worked my ass off non stop to even fet moment in my fingers back at all and when I did, I moved onto bending them, then a fist, then individual movements until I regained almost complete use.
The nerve damage was so severe though, I couldn't feel anything at all on the palm side and the top side was super sensitive but not accurate as to where the feeling actually was.
I broke my finger in a vice grip and didn't realize it until I went to move my hand and it dragged it and I saw my finger was snapped in half in it.
So I had taken ghrp 6 and cjc1295 without dac before and had so many positive effects and heard it was still being tested for numerous other benefits and after my surgery the nerve issues were just part of it, they also had tendons in my wrist tied together and they had to be shortened so it hurt like he'll to do certain movements and was always really tight.
I ran the cjc and ghrp for almost 8 months and though I didn't get anywhere near where I'd hoped, I did get the pain for the most part (from the tendons and ligaments) to subside, and regained partial feeling on the palm side, enough to where I can feel the pressure at least of holding something.
The top side of my hand is almost like nothing ever happened and now I have only occasional issues with the nerves sending signals for the wrong location...like I can cut my nuclear on my index finger and sometimes it hurts in my wrist or palm, or I get a mosquito bite on the side of my palm and my index finger itches like he'll.
But nevertheless, I felt the peptides are what helped the most and was thinking about running them again buy I'll do the research on what you suggested and talk to others then perhaps give them a go if it seems they could help. thank you

Is your middle name 'Lucky' ?!! Bloody hell mate I don't think I've ever come across anyone with as bad a luck as you for having accidents happen to them! Shok I guess you know what you think may help and work more than us bud, to me it sounds like a surgery only job but if you think peptides may be of some benefit then definitely give it a go Good

Complexed's picture

yeah I've pretty much been prone to injuries my whole life but you learn to deal with it when it happens that often.
Yeah surgery seems to be the only real fix, idk if peptides will work as far as helping prevent further damage but I know they sure as hell ain't gonna regrow a completely torn ligament or tendon...I've read that some peptides have regrow (repaired) tendons and ligaments which I've always been told want be done so that's a plus...but that was cases were they were just damaged or partially torn.
I don't see how they could allow tendons or ligaments to regrow or heal if they are completely separated though.
Idk, it sucks, I finally get my health well enough to start lifting and summers coming up, was really looking forward to going hard and then this shit happens.
I figure for the time being ill just test the waters with different exercises and focus on higher reps lower weights, keep track of what ones feel ok and which ones hurt or can't be done and then start keeping track of it all and see if I get anywhere

I tried to summon you on this yesterday but forgot to put the Damn '2' in Lmao

Kaido's picture

Oh man, I am really sorry you are going through all that shit.
A shoulder injury was the beginning of the end for my athletic career and I had to get a loan to pay for my surgery, so I feel you more than words can say.
What you are describing indeed seems to be an AC joint separation, but if it is so severe that your arm feels like falling off, it most likely is grade 3-6 and surgery is the ONLY option.
The least you could do is get a proper diagnosis, you go to an orthopedic surgeon, do both an x-ray and an MRI and learn exactly what it is.
If by any chance it's grade 2 and/or a partial tear elsewhere, I will help you as much as you like get it back to being healthy and strong.
If you indeed need surgery, I ll help you with recovery and you won't have to pay a dime to physical therapy.
BUT, for all this to happen and go well, you need to get diagnosed.
Be smart brother, If it needs surgery, no matter what you do, you ll be one armed until you go under the knife and fix it.

Complexed's picture

Yes according to the extensive research I've done it's grade 3 or 4 fully seperated not just torn.
I Def knew the mome t it went from a tear to completely separating, it was painful but mostly it was how it felt.
My scapula instantly felt like it dropped down and into my back and my arm dropped forward and hurts like he'll to pull back...not to mention the lump in my shoulder where my clavicle connected at the shoulder went from be swollen and bumped up to being most obviously a bone sticking out !ND you can now put you fingers around it and tell there's nothing holding it anymore, like I can move it around.
I've read a lot of forums and medical pages on it and it seems If surgery isn't an option the best thing is to strengthen the muscles in such a way to help them compensate for the lack of the tendons holding your arm back.
I am aware it's always going to hurt and limit me a lot and I'm no stranger to pain so I know I can deal, and I know I'll prolly never get the physique I wanted but I feel I can still keep the size I've gotten to and I honestly will be more than satisfied with it...my whole life I've had people think I was either a methhead or on my deathbed lol, so I feel I can't complain about where I've got to considering that doesnt even cross anyone mind anymore.

No it's not a torn rc...it's Def the acl...the symptoms have similarities but a torn rc doesn't cause the clavicle to stick up off the shoulder and I can clearly feel the ligaments no longer attached.
I can lift my arm straight up but hurts like hell...but honestly I lay on that shoulder more now ans it hurts but doesn't hurt as bad as when I don't because I'll wake up and be in worse pain and it'll make my neck and back hurt as well.

press1's picture

I'm very sorry to read all of this, from what you have described there about not being able to lift your arm up level or above your head then it is a torn Rotator Cuff. There are 3 Grades of Tear ranging from 1 to 3, 3 being completely detached and therefore the arm will simply not lift up and Grade 1 being that there is a tear in the tendon but over time it may heal, or the other tendons in the RC will strengthen to compensate for the loss in strength in the area of the torn tendon. I have had a grade 1.5 in the past and for the first few weeks that arm will not lift higher than 45 degrees and is excruciating when it does.

I bet when you lie on that shoulder in bed it wakes you up every night in agonising pain right? Having to sleep on the other side? If someone has already had a look at it and diagnosed that you need surgery then you need to follow their strict instructions, just try and think of any way that you can come up with the funds to afford it. In the meantime go on Youtube and look up Rotator Cuff strengthening exercises - there are hundreds of videos on there that can help diagnose the severity of it, help ease pain & begin to strengthen the area again. There are many members on here who have had RC surgery and can advise you better than I can on this so I will call upon their magical powers to see if they can help you a little more Smile @Catalyst @Jrblh

Catalyst's picture

You rang? Lol.

OP, like Yoked said below, there’s no other path, surgeon. Big tear or detachment and the longer it’s left the less positive the outcome from surgery is likely to be. I’m getting close to 50, 3 surgeries on my right shoulder and 1 on the left and I pay a pain price every day for the hammering my body has taken over the years. It gets tiresome. You’re a young guy, need to get yourself fixed ASAP.

Good luck, hope things improve. Drop me a line if I can be of help.

Hate to hear it but I know you're right.....Thanks for the help and offer to help!

wooo, man this is a lot to read.
Ok, here's my advice... get surgery. Get temporary social security if you can and it will cover living expenses -edit- (SOME living expense) and medical but you likely NEED surgery and if you don't get it now, there's a high chance you will be fucked for life as that tendon atrophies and becomes unrepairable.
From there, anything that can help with healing, BPC, hgh/mk, tb500, etc.
Find other options for the surgery, go in debt if you need to.

Complexed's picture

disability isn't really an option, I've been self employed my whole life and when I checked into it my statement shows I'd only get about $68 month for full disability and I'd screw myself because I CANNOT not work and it'd be just a matter of time before they'd catch me and I'd go to jail for fraud.
I was raised in a generation where you work until you literally can't walk, then you get ur ass back up and work twice as hard. Bitchin and whining isn't going to pay bills or make my body heal .
I've never had any luck or anything seem to go right for me bit that's ok, just made me stronger and taught me to never rely on anyone or anything but myself because nothing is for sure in this life.
Now with that being said, I'm not giving up on getting surgery and will jump all over it if/when a opportunity arrives as long as it won't hurt my family by doing so.
I don't care to go into debt more rhan I am, I should word it differently, I CANT go into debt any more than I already am.
I have absolutely nothing in my name anymore, lost my business, tools, vehicles, home, literally sold my clothes to pay for medical expenses and after losing everything I didn't put a dent in it.
So I can't get any assistance, loans, nothing lol
