+ 1 our body can convert protein to glycogen IF IT WANTS!!!

have you ever heard about if your glycogen stores in your muscles are empty and you dont get enough carb in your meal , your body can convert protein you eat to glycogen because our bodies priority is to supply energy first? does anyone wants to talk about this?

PropheticWookieWhat to talk about the physiological process. The source of energy is primarily carbohydrates, then fats, and only then proteins.
SIna_rajabiI think so too
basskiller88I’m trying to get my body to burn more fat!
your body uses sugars first, fats second and protein last for fuel.
gluconeogenesis is extremely inefficient, that is when aminos (proteins) are converted to usable glucose (fuel). As a bodybuilder you do not want this to happen.
I believe the process you are looking for is ketosis, this is more common.

PropheticWookieYes, all obvious things are written in physiology. But people are looking for magic techniques.
SIna_rajabiThats so much right
SIna_rajabiIt's true but its better you say glycogen rather than sugar
And just imagine you are low on fat , you don't have carbohydrates in your meals or the type of carbohydrates you have is complex
I think its much more likely it will burn its own muscle down to fuel energy stores first before it does this, I could be wrong though.
SIna_rajabiWe can not store protein in our body like fat or glycogen
Actually body uses the protein you ate as a fuel if its needed because the priority is to keep you going
My meals always consist of Carbs and Protein anyway as I'm always trying to bulk and get stronger.
SIna_rajabithats all we want
