+ 2 How people spend time when they can't lift

As above my fellow iron addicts what are the other things that do to past the time when no lifting, in my case (hernia surgery) and can't lift nothing for another 40 days, I just watch Netflix and getting fat lol!!

Well when I couldn't lift due to covid lockdowns I just kinda sat at home got real small in areas you wanna be big and real fat. Went up to 270lbs and wasn't even on trt to give myself a break. But recently got back in it and so far down 20lbs back to 250.

Sounds like you have been to Hell & back. How do you manage not to be able to train properly for that long, or is it just a case of you have no choice and you have to get use to it?

When I’m injured or the weather is horrible I go tinker with stuff in the shop. Always something to do in the shop. I picked up a box full of old cast iron elephant piggy banks for nothing. My wife and I slowly restore them. Find a project you can get into.

Yeah as Sam said I got mesh, iam not in pain or anything but the doc scared the shit out of me, don't do this don't do that lol

My friends went to the old school traditional docs for their hernia surgeries as well and were told the same. I had 2 different repairs from sports doc that does professional athletes. When I asked when I could resume actives he said “whenever you feel up to it”. I questioned if I would hurt something and his response “if you feel pain stop”. Both times I was back at the gym within a week doing light activities and I felt great by end of week 2.

I agree with them lol I am not in pain at all, but in my case witch is a mesh involved I believe they put me back cause they can't actually se if the mesh stitches are OK. Anyway IL give it another week and I start with some light weight Smile

That’s what I did. Just isolation exercises.
If he’s careful he will be fine.
He did get mesh, I didn’t but mine was gallbladder and hernia.

When I broke my foot back in 2018(16 weeks no weight), I took the kids to school, did pullups and pushups at home, watched the price is right, took a nap, ate lunch, watched Thor Ragnarock, then picked the kids up from school. This was damn near everyday. I'm not joking.

Not sure what the weather looks like where you’re at brother but I would be keeping my steps up, walking a lot. My choice is to be outdoors and hiking. As long as you’re pacing slow and not increasing infra abdominal pressure you will be good.

I feel for you Pal - I REALLY do. I've been doing blocks of 3 to 4 days at a time of rest to deal with my 2 injuries over the last 2 months and man its Depressing, Boring & Tedious & generally shit! Lol I was intent on doing a full week off but I was going round the F'kin bend and gave in LMAO Things I have found that help a bad situation are go for a 30 minute walk everyday, to the shops or just in general to keep the appetite reasonable and feel better with the fresh air. Go for a 1 to 2 hour drive if you have a car and love driving like I do :-) Have a Wank or get the Sex Doll out. Try stay off Youtube as it will just make you want to train and HATE everyone on there who is hitting PR's!!! Watch 1 film per day but no more otherwise it will lose its novelty factor. Do an hour of house cleaning to make yourself feel more positive when you are in it. Try keep up with a protein drink a day even though you are less likely to want to even look at it, it definitely still helps keep muscle. Keep coming on here and talking with others. Maybe try doing some band work if you are allowed to.

You definitely feel me buddy especially with YouTube videos iam out. Iam doing some walking 4-5 km a day hate it but it helps especially with my mind lol, as far as diet goes I still consume at least 200 grams of protein a day, but I eat a lot of shit as well! I give 1 more week and start with some bands and as Sam says with super lightweight dumbbells ffs Smile

My thoughts on this is. Enjoy the time of you getting fat. Just make sure your nutrition for injury is upto the point :))

Yeah Netflix is boring, but instead of looking on YouTube bb videos and get even more crazy about my current situation, is a bit better! Can't watch TV cause every single channel is on about covid shit..
