Help interpreting test results HGH - GH Serum and IGF-1
Hi everyone
was hoping someone could help me with test results:
got some genotropin and did bloods before and after (to check the quality) 8am fasting then took 4.2 IU 3 hours later (I also took about 3 IU the day before)
I did a serum test and IGF-1 and results are before and after.
Results:
Growth Hormone 23 mU/L
Results History:
8am - 14 Dec '18 - 0.1
1130am 14 Dec '18 - 23
IGF-1 187 ug/L
8am - 14 Dec '18 - 182
1130am - 14 Dec '18 - 187
I see the Growth Serum went up really high but my IGF-1 hardly moved, and in-fact I has a test done a few months back and the IGF-1 was about 250 ug/L. and additionally I got a base line before I started anti-aging treatment (I'm over 40 and use only for anti-ageing) and before I started HGH my IGF-1 was 24 nmol/L which by the calculator I am using is 192 ug/L (higher than these results)
so questions:
- is this HGH I tested good? (I assume yes because the GH serum was very high)
- why would my IGF be lower than before I started HGH?
- and if the HGH is good, why did my IGF-1 test so low or normal?
many thanks for input. got me stumped?

IGF-1

test was done 3 hrs post sub-q, I don't know much about this stuff but id say the GH is bunk?
Genotropin 36IU Cartridge, I will post an image of the product if I can figure out how..
I’ve accepted your FR mate so shoot me a PM if needed. Guys have you below. As you’ve been on GH for about 2 years using the same GH your “new baseline” will effectively be your IGF-1 directly before you increase the dose. You need the run the higher dose for minimum 4 weeks before testing again. Bare in mind that IGF-1 is converted primarily by the liver so you may want to think about anything that could be affecting this like alcohol, illness and other hepatoxic medication or drugs and think about limiting impact here by reducing hepatoxicicity (stop what’s causing issues and/or supplement to limit damage and aid recovery - TUDCA). I would take some significant comfort by the GH Serum number which looks good to me. Keep us all posted.
I am 43 pinning 2.5 IU a day my last test gf1 levels were 242. What is a good number for igf1? Should I be in the 300s?
Can you start your own forum please mate rather than posting this question on someone else’s year old thread. Probably best to include some more history such as baseline IGF-1 before starting GH and other meds (including aas) you’re taking. Also what method (immunoassay or LC-MS/HP-LC) was used by the lab. Sometimes it’s easier to just post a picture of the lab results with this info (removing all personal details) and go from there.
Edit: I see you’ve done this already. I’ll take a proper read over there and see if I have anything to add.

I’d say I’d agree based on those numbers. But what is confusing is how you had a high GH Serum before and now you don’t. Chat to your source.
yep I cant explain it, I will have to run another test, I have another new box, supplier says product has tested good, could 4 weeks in the fridge make it go off? that's a logical explanation, how else could I get such a high GH serum test when I first opened it, like text book; three hours post sub-q ran test, all good, one month later same test and comes up nil or 0.1, but the IGF-1 has hardly moved,
I asked the doctor to run the test again and he did, with same results because I couldn't make any sense of it? got me a noob really confused
I am not that experienced but should I see a decent rise in IGF-1 fairly decently at 3 -4 IU
I don’t know mate I have no explanation. Keeping them in the fridge won’t affect them. It’s not keeping them in that does. Have you considered sending one off for testing? And yes you would see a very decent rise in IGF-1 at that dose.
thanks Dacky I really value feed back
this is what they look like:

and I have asked the group if anyone knows:
https://www.eroids.com/forum/hgh-peptides/rhgh/italian-genotropin-12mg-c...
if I knew a lab in Australia I would send them to it, I cant find one that does that work or I dont know what to google
Well said bro
Great to have you around Dacky and helping others man, this is why I love this website.
That’s true, agree
X2 agreed.. this is the only place you can really find real world experience like this all in one spot..eroids rocks
Thanks for that and taking the time to respond, stopping drinking a while back after so not the alcohol, but I have been taking a-lot of NSAID's (i train like a mad-man) so that has definitely given me something to think about.
very interesting to me that my IGF-1 is about the same with the HGH vs my baseline before starting, I don't get that?
appreciate input and will post follow up, I think the genotropin cartridge's are good, they look right but there was no smell which is common to the Pen's from my limited experience which led me to want to run some tests on the them.
Have a search on this site and on google. There are some good pointers on spotting fake pens.
The NSAID’s could definitely be impacting here. I also really caution you in using these meds to control pain from lifting/exercise. If this is needed then you should asses why. This could be as a result of this overtraining, other hormonal issues, underlying medical or injury problem, mechanical (form) issues, mobility issues or any combination of these things. It is non-sustainable and there are plenty of studies on the negative impact of NSAID’s on muscle growth. My suggestion to you as a starting point is to deload for 2 weeks by dropping you weights by 50% and reducing numbers of sets. Then always make sure you are not lifting for more than 45mins after warm-up, train one day on and one day off and make sure you are getting at least 8 hours quality sleep per night. Good luck.
Knowledge is power, great info
Nice info
Again x2 well put.. maybe even a week off over the holidays give the body some good rest.. eat sleep relax repeat lol... and stuff like naproxen and motrin can defiantly effect igf conversion for sure
NSAID’s are for Judo and Jui-Jitsu, weights I keep at about 70% and I do not bulk at all to keep my weight down, the MMA is really hard on joints, but at the back of my mind I know its not sustainable taking the NSAID to keep training
thanks for the suggestions, but you basically hit the nail on the head, just over training
Stop the MMA/Judo/Jujitsu for 2 weeks. Take your lifting weights down to 35% of 1RM for 8 to 12 reps at no more than 3 sets per exercise and no more than. 45mins of training one day on and one day off. Stop the NSAID’s, take TUDCA 250mg x 2 per day, vitamin c 1000mg per day and possibly some milk thistle. Drink 4 litres water minimum per day. Eat all the food you like but with a focus on good carbs and sleep 8 hours minimums. Have a massage, do some yoga and mindfulness - you get the picture. By that stage you’re basically 4 weeks in and run the Serum GH and IGF-1 tets again. Then report back here and let’s see how you’ve got on. Good luck
ok will do, thanks for support and feed back
Mma will take a serious toll on you as you get older.. joints tendons ligaments etc just don't take the abuse as well as you age.. take it from an ex military guy lol it beats on ya hard
thanks for feed back, yeah I think I am starting to feel it, i just seem to be banged up more than everyone else (I am also 10-15 yrs older), that's why I'm looking to the "anti-aging" therapy to keep body healthy
IGF levels take 4-5 weeks to really peak. They are not measured in hours!
When did you actually start the geno? Did you run this test for your first shots or have you been running it for a while?
I don't know as much as dacky but just out of curiosity how long were you using gh before u got tested..igf I believe raises over the course of a week or 2 i think so serum levels will be up before igf. . maybe some guys with a little more experience will post and help you out..
been running genotropin quick pens for a year at 1.5 - 2 IU
just got these new genotropin cartridges and wanted to test quality
If u just bumped up your dosage that day for that one test it's defiantly not going to reflect much in igf. . if you stayed at 4iu for a few weeks and got tested again you'd possibly be in the high 300s or low 400s...
ok understood, I thought that going to 3 - 4 IU for a few days would elevate the IGF-1, so it wouldn't show up for a few weeks then?
No that's the issue for sure.. For 1.5 or2 the numbers are ok.. Do u know what your baseline score was?? Even 187 for 2 seems a little low to me but everyone converts compounds differently.. food sleep exercise etc can effect numbers also.. I'd say test again in a few weeks if u plan on raising your numbers but if u want to stay at a lower dose judging by serum levels you gh is g2g
Anything to do with hgh, user called ‘Dacky’ you need to talk to, he’s very good man.
like PM him? sorry real noob here on this forum
I guess it’s sorted now!!
Yes send him a friend request and then pm him
