I can't eat for shit, help!
I've never been a big eater, far from it, I don't enjoy food, I only eat because I have to, never really feel hungry, around 6 years ago I decided to do something about it and started making myself eat bigger portions and more often. It didn't make much difference apart from I feel awful after forcing myself to eat and I shit more often!!
When I did my first cycle I finally found out what hunger was, but even with the hunger I couldn't get the food in, I put a bit of weight on but nothing spectacular (obviously!)
After an injury this year I stopped everything and went back to eating next to nothing, it's been 5 weeks since I ate properly, trained or took gear (3 weeks into pct currently), I calculated roughly how many calories I've been eating and I'm surprised I'm alive! It turns out my old diet was a measley 1800kcal, the last 6 years it was up to about 2700kcal and even that was a real struggle, I'm really depressed about the whole thing (diet and injury), I can't see the point trying to get back to it knowing I can't eat enough to see any results, I can't understand how I weigh as much as I do!
Any advice or give up? It's definitely looking like it's not for me

Smoke some weed. It makes everything taste better and now it’s even legal in a lot of places. If you don’t wanna smoke you can administer it orally. It also makes you feel good and sleep well. Can help relax muscles and ease pain from exercise as well.
Make your own weight gainer shakes until your use to eating a lot. I make mine with 10 ounces of milk. Three raw eggs- don’t worry your not going to taste the raw eggs- two scoops of vanilla protien powder, one pack of flavored oatmeal to change the flavor. One cup of regular oatmeal. One banana or berries. Thats 75 grams of protien. If you want more calories peanut butter has a lot. Eat a couple of spoons of that straight from the jar and wash it down with your shake. Sometimes you have to force yourself. It’s how bad you want it. It will get easier. Hope this helps.
I used to struggle with getting enough of the right foods down me, although this was the contrary when it came to eating junk foods. I could never get enough cakes:) You should try drinking your foods, I mean seriously, have a look at different supplement shakes. I know there are some pretty good weight gain shakes out there, that will have your calories up in no time.
basskiller89Hey brother!!
I've been there lol I was force-feeding on 6-7k calories a day and it was not fun. I was eating 3 bagels with butter every morning 1/2 box a pasta every day, muffins, cookies, milk, meats, protein powders, I never got into mass gainers because whole foods are always better. I mean, honestly when you look at the ingredients in mass gainers and there is a picture of an apple pie on the container I just eat the pie lol I'm not saying this is entirely correct because we all respond differently but it sounds like you fun until 6 months later I was fat lol The body really only needs 2000 calories + maybe another 500 at most depending on physical activity to grow. You need to message Makwa he is wicked smart with nutrition
Gear life is a diff lifestyle entirely. I weigh 240lbs solid right now and am eating 5k calories every day to grow and not gain fat. Is not possible naturally for me to eat this much and not gain fat. I came here on eroids and brothers helped me fix my protocols. Hope this helps brother!!
Pound the shakes. One an hour whether you're hungry or not.
Use milk, not water.
If you have IBS that can be a major factor. You need to see a good gastroenterologist. Hopefully they can give you insight into your problem.
Honestly sounds like a mental thing. Wanting to not eat can be mental. But one thing that can really help is ghrp 2 and ghrp 6 its designed to increase appetite. You have to inject it.
jayiskif you dont want to inject ghrp try oral MK-677 for increased appetite. But IBS can come from stress or something in your diet. I've dealt with it on and off since i was a child. Def. see a GI dr. and have them run tests.
My appetite is fine but thank you (: I buy Loudon broil and shred it into like nothing eat it right down and am hungry hour later. Only thing I ever had was acid reflux that is annoying
jayiskMy mistake.., was meant for the OP
It’s all good(:
boldenon makes me eat alot
cess86First thing you need to analyze is your digestive system, are you having gas, are you constipated, do yiu get bloated after every meal? If yes to any of these then you need to fix it. Find what goods arw causing it, add digestive enzymes, add Apple cider vinegar. If that's not the issue try doing high calorie shakes twice a day. Mix egg whites as your liquid add lots of honey, bananas, peanut butter, oats, coconut Lol, add til you have 1,000 calories, drink twice a day. Drink grape juice with every meal. The key is getting in carbs.

Try some MK677. NOTHING has ever made me more hungry. I couldn't stop eating.
Small update, I got some GHRP-6, took 100mcg after work, I did start to feel hungry but nothing major, waited about half an hour while I cooked my tea, once I started eating it went down so much better than usual, normally I'd be struggling at least towards the end but not today, I finished my tea then had 3 weetabix (apple and raisin) and a cereal bar. I could probably have got more in but that was enough to start with.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning, I'm getting up earlier so I have time to eat plenty before work and I'm making extra for my bait, confident I'll be able to eat it all!
+1 for everyone that suggested it!
Do you take digestive enzymes and per-probiotic? That might help you digest better and therefore increase your hunger.
That said, I'm sorry but there is no reason anyone should be complaining they can't eat 3,500-4000 calories a day. That can be done in just two meals! Over 5-6 meals its nothing.
Whole eggs, Raw milk, white rice, beef, butter and honey on oat flour pancakes etc. Come on bro.. Stick to the whole foods. You should need to force feed at all if you are training heavy and you don't have some sort of gut health issue.
If you want to use drugs to induce hunger, GHRP-6 and marijuana work wonders for appetite stimulation.
backonroidsTook 100mcg post work out expecting it to kick in in 30 mins , it instantly kicked in as I was cooking I had to eat sweets as was so hungry I then eat two big steaks and a pack of Mexican rice , like 300g coco pops , 4 waffles with blue berrys , serious mass shake with whole milk and 2 bananas !!!! All straight after each other
The stuff is amazing ! I consumed around 3,000kcal in 40minutes !!
Make sure you prep food in advance ! I wasn't expecting it to be that strong so I didn't prepare and had to eat shit to fill me up lol
10 out of fucking 10
Im not exactly sure the reason why, i think its related to fat burning.... but they say to wait 30 minutes before eating
backonroidsJust literally took my first shot of GHRP-6 100mcg this minute so will report back with my verdict
I've had problems with my gut, the short version is doc said it's IBS, figure out what food causes it and don't eat it, turns out it's anything spicy, even very mild, some types of pastry and melted cheese, regular cheese is fine though.
I can, and do, eat the same thing day after day and not get sick of it, I don't really taste anything, I get bored of preparing the same thing over and over before I get sick of eating it!
I think I need to find more time to eat rather than increase the size of any particular meal, I feel stuffed not even half way through turkey mince and rice (250g mince, 250g uncle bens golden veg rice) but force the rest down anyway, sometimes it's just too much to finish though. The problem is time, I work all day, pretty active job, on the go just about all day, I eat a sandwich or tuna and pasta at break time (prepared the night before), usually can't manage more than a cereal bar or something at dinner time, that's the first place I tried adding food, I feel worn out and queezy for the next few hours if I eat more, I started taking small snacks to pick at throughout the day, this week it's mini kievs, I'm lucky if I manage 5, I feel sick with every mouthful! Then when I finish work I make the big meal, more often than not it's turkey mince and rice, sometimes sirloin steak and chips, once a week I usually do fish, chips and baked beans. After that I spend a couple of hours with the other half and kids, then go home, make tomorrow's sandwich or pasta and tuna, sometimes make extra to eat on the night if I think I can get it down, then go to bed.
Until I tried steroids I never really got any hint of hunger until I felt dizzy and hands start shaking, now I get a rumble as a heads up, approx 9.20 every morning then again at about 16.00, while I'm on cycle the rumble is there a lot more but as soon as food goes in I feel sick and tired. Now I've realised how few calories I'm getting I have no plans to go back on.
The depression is something that's been coming and going, gradually getting worse, over the last couple of years, the not being able to eat is just a small part of it, whenever it starts everything seems to add to it in one way or another.
Rob, respectfully, you need to sort your life out,
You're talking about medical conditions that are beyond the capabilities of an internet forum (with great respect to the eroids crew). You have spoken of IBS (likely SIBO too), Depression, a quite frankly; atrocious diet, low blood sugar levels to let you know you're hungry (hypoglycemia)
If you're not pre-diabetic, you will be soon.
Your job isnt helping and you seem to have a split family life, so I speculate stress/anxiety are there too to bolster the depression.
You need to change a lot of things. A lot. And, only you can do it. For depression, go to doctor, tell him, get meds, then go to a CBT therapist that specialises in depression (not a generalist which most are). Then work on family life, diet, fitness/training. If you get all that nailed, AAS is something to consider in the future.
Go get the help you need, from the right people mate, spending a few quid on the doc and a therapist will be cheaper than AAS/Bloods/Supps, per month. Sort your shit out pal.
I appreciate you being straight with me, a lot of it sounds worse than it is, the hunger thing is fixed now, I started feeling hunger on my first cycle and it's stuck with me, but even when I didn't feel hunger it was very rare that I'd get to the point of low blood sugar, I'd still eat at set times, it was only if I ended up out of routine. The hunger I feel is easily missed but I'm getting better at noticing, the problem is it feels like there's no room for food that I try to eat, even though I know there has to be, I've had cameras in both ends and nothing showed up.
The IBS was diagnosed by a specialist, I saw him once every couple of months for a few years, in the end we decided I didn't need to see him anymore, just stick to not eating food that causes problems and he suggested I cut back on sugar and eat healthy, I cut out almost all the sweet stuff and started cooking fresher stuff, my diet used to be so much worse, same sort of volume but all shit.
I agree, no more AAS, I assumed I was eating enough calories for my weight so when I started training I started forcing myself to eat a bit extra each time, thinking it would be enough, I was very surprised when I actually worked out I'd only increased my calories to where they should be for my weight, I don't regret using when I did, the small amount of weight I gained has stayed and I kinda get hungry now.
You're right about the job not helping, it's a good job mostly, they've really looked after me and I know I've got a job there forever. My family life isn't as bad as it sounds, it's a long story and doesn't belong here, but it's mostly good times!
I've seen a doctor about depression, I know why I'm depressed, since having an accident my life changed in pretty much every way, work, family and hobbies all suffered, training was supposed to be instead of drugs, it works to some extent, I really don't want to rely on drugs. A therapist might help but I'd struggle to find the time.
I'm in a much better mood today, it hasn't helped my eating at all though, I've been discussing eating strategies with a lad at work today, there's a couple of things I'm going to try, I'm honestly trying, I'm not just being like some kid not eating stuff I don't like the taste of, we'll see, the last few years have got slightly better, maybe 30 years of eating nothing takes longer than a few years to get over!!
Thanks for the advice, I'll try to remember to come back here if anything changes!
I respect your honesty Rob and I really do wish you the best with your journey fella
backonroidsAlways says it how it is ! Respect +
I'm thinking you should probay stay away from steroids and get your stomach and mental issues takin care of first
lmao
That's not funny

It wasnt meant to be brother i was being serious sorry I should have been a little more thorough with my response
Increase your output,if you're not starving after a high volume workout you're not doing enough.
backonroidsMy dad used to rattle on about a morning jog to increase your appetite through out the day too ,
when i bulk up with all the food that i have to eat i end up smoking. you for sure wont have a problem with this approach
backonroidsOh and if your "depressed about it" that's why you can't eat mate .. you've mentally given up ! It's like lying on a bench and thinking "I can't lift this " guess what you probably could have but you won't now .
Change your mindset . It's a powerful thing
backonroidsI started from bare bones got big went back to where I started but depressed as shit as I looked a mess . I had zero appetite it's better now but took time .
Things to Factor in are things like stress , the food you are eating - you will not have a appetite for a plate full of rice and chicken if you can't stand rice and chicken !
What I do -
-wake up early allow myself more time to consume the kcals ,
-mix it up one beef meal , one chicken , one fish , different sauces , different veg . I would have like chicken with rice then 2-3 hrs later steak and sweet patato
-drink plenty of water in between meals
- eat every 2-3 hrs
-It's not a crime to use protein shakes as a supplement , just don't use it instead of a meal .
-Eat foods you enjoy
-Remove any stress in your life or learn to chill a little bit.
- it may sound crazy - Watch videos of your favourite bodybuilder on YouTube eating training etc whilst having your meals (it helps)
-I avoid caffeine as kills my appetite
- Search the famous Viking shake throw it in towards end of your day if you haven't consumed enough .
- build up Kcal gradually , don't jump straight to a high amount
Hope some of that helps , I've been there and it's frustrating as fuck.
When I started lifting i was about 130lbs, and it was because I ate like once a day, probablay like 1200-1500 cals max. when I started lifting I set a goal of 3000 cals a day, it took a solid year of doing it before I could do it comfortably, and overtime I got to the point where I can put down 5000. if youre at say start with 4 meals, say 2500 cals, then add another meal to bring it up to 3000, then after a few weeks-month add another meal to bring you up to 3500 or however many you need to gain. Good ghrp-6 really works great at increasing hunger, you can be full and take 100mcg ghrp-6 and a few minutes later be starving. Its a huge tool for me when bulking. And its cheap as hell, 20-30 bucks a month is all it will cost and you get the benefit of increased gh levels.
Lay out your typical weekly diet man, lay out the good stuff and when where what with the bad stuff...
How does your body react to certain foods? pos and neg...
General health? Gut health? How are the hormones (insulin cortisol etc.)?
A lot of people wish they had your problem. Being hungry all the time and constantly tempted by food sucks. I'd stay away from all the drugs and appetite "supplements," smokable or otherwise, and just focus on staying positive and consistent. No one can do it for you. It's up to you.
But you could have a blessing in disguise. Some guys, including me, still get hunger pangs eating 4,000 plus a day. It blows. Just make sure there's nothing medically wrong if this gets more serious. There's no reason a healthy man can't eat over 2,700 kcals.
