CPAP and getting larger and leaner by the week
I got my CPAP machine about a month and a half ago and have been getting larger and leaner despite not being on cycle. I am on my TRT dose of 100mg E5D. My abs are getting sharper, I am up 6 lbs to 266 and my strength has increased slightly form my on-cycle weights. Has anyone else seen similar benefits from this device? I should add that I snored something aweful. My sleep study said I stopped breathing for more than 30 seconds 48 times per hour. This means I was not breathing for at least 24 min each hour I slept. I love this device! I will not sleep without. I took it on vacation. I even use it for naps. My doc said that if your neck is larger than 18 inches and you snore, odds are your need one. I wish I would have found this years ago. Just wanted to inform everyone that this device has major benefits in the gym and the mirror if you snore and have sleep apnea.

jayiskSleep apena is recognized by loud snoring, than you stop breathing for 30 or more seconds, and than you suddenly gasp for air. During this time you're not getting O2 to your brain and organs, and your Oxygen saturation levels start to drop which causes the carbon dioxide levels build up in your blood. This happens all night long and you may not realize that you are not getting any real sleep at all.
Untreated Sleep apnea does kill people. This actress died not to long ago;
"But a disorder that ultimately contributed to Fisher's death was something she hadn't publicly said much about: sleep apnea.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office said sleep apnea - where a person repeatedly stops breathing during sleep, sometimes more than 100 times a night - was a contributing factor in her death. What you die of is not the sleep apnea. You die of the cardiovascular disease. You die of the stroke. You die of the pulmonary problems . . . Sleep apnea is a time bomb."
Mistakenly people think only obese people can get it. Prob. 5 or 6 reasons you can get it and one is definitely a large neck.
If you power lift or do strongman you prob. have it. The exercises trained strengthen your neck and traps usually giving you a large neck.
I power lift and have a 21 inch neck. Before I got the CPAP it got so bad i felt like i was being water boarded every 10 minutes. I would jump up out of bed gasping for air and sit there for 10 minutes with my heart racing.
Yes, it makes sense that you're getting leaner and stronger. Because with the CPAP you're actually going through a proper sleep cycle and getting a solid nights rest. Remember nutrition and sleep are the 2 most important things after you train.
I'm glad you found some relief!
Is that the mask you wear on your face? I sleep on my side
jayiskI have the one that covers my mouth and nostrils. And I'm able to sleep on my side with no prob.
Me too. I have the one that goes over your nose. It basically looks like a fake pig snout. You only have to wear the giant mask if you're a mouth breather.
Did your doctor prescribe you one or did you get it from amazon I wake myself up all the time from not breathing while I sleep
jayiskYou should schedule a sleep study. You will go to a sleep lab, which is set up like a bedroom, and they hook u up to a ton of monitors evaluate you to see if you have sleep apena. Now you can actually do that 1st part at home. They give u a pulse oximeter which connects to a wrist watch type thing, that has a wire connected to a small monitor that you tape to your chest. and you bring it back the next day.
If you have sleep apnea you go back for an overnight study so they can adjust the settings on the CPAP machine.
A CPAP machine works by using air pressure to keep the airways from your nose and mouth more open while you sleep. It does not use oxygen.
I went to my doctor because my girl was freaking out because I kept stop breathing for so long while I slept. Doc scheduled a sleep study. I spent 1 night at the hospital while they did their sleep study. Insurance paid for the whole thing cost me nothing out-of-pocket. The machine was free too and I get replacement hoses and masks and all that other shit every other month thru insurance.
jayiskMy wife use time how long I would stop breathing for. The machine is a life saver.
