Just curious, what is the scientific source for this material? and when was it published?
I suspect there is a "google translation" issue, after a more thorough read, and reread, much of this does not sound very scientific. If it was western science, it sounds as if it was written in the 1700's
Here is my translation of the first week.
First 2 days:
The first day the blood sugar level are reduced and all their the harmful effects. A slow heartbeat, low blood pressure, and reduced stress. Physical weakness becomes a factor because nerve glycogen deposits are reduced. Symptoms are dizziness and headaches Followed by bad breath.
3rd through 7th day:
Glucose in fat is used for energy as fat stores are broken down. The skin of some people is smooth and glossy. White blood cells are increased; increasing immunity. Some might experiance chest or lung pain. Body odor is a sign of the repairs going on inside the body. The body gets used to hunger but discipline is needed to refrain from eating.
Dear Greg, first of all i change the topic words as per your complain, second thing you describe very well in your own way, if people not fully understand my point of view, please help me to explain...thanks brother..
Scientific or no, "the evil of stinking mouth" just scared the crap out of me
AnonPretty sure my stomach has a mind of its own, and if I fasted for 30 days, it would be angry enough to ensure i had diahrea for the next 30 days after. Good information though.
I think those studies regarding the benefits of fasting are made for the “western” style of fasting, abstaining from food but not water.
Islamic fast is unique in that you abstain from all liquids apart from food. And im not an expert, so someone please correct me, but I think there is no benefit at all in dehydration, in fact seems extremely dangerous to me?
If you work in hot conditions I expect it is very dangerous. That is why I support them in their fast but I cannot partake. No food is easy, no drink is dangerous.
I couldn’t do it. When it’s warm like it is now, I have a problem staying hydrated with a gallon jug at my side and a gott on the truck.
I have noticed the increased muscle mass makes me dehydrate and heat stress that much quicker as well.
Dear all friends, i do not post this article becoz i am muslim, here my point of view is fasting amazing effects on our body in professional way, all religions are respectable for me, you are all my friends my seniors too, i am attached in this forum for spreading love and get knowledge from you guys.
fasting is not only muslim subject, in Christianity if you read bible, the christian also do fasting and there fasting is near about 24 hours, my many christian friends keep this difficult fasting and i salute them about their courage, so my topic related to fasting effect on body, i hope i clear my point of view, if i hurt someone i am sorry about that....love u all..
To paraphrase MLK, I'll judge you by your character and not by the color of your skin or religion.
Your Ramadan post was interesting because the fasting, what you can eat and when you can eat, is unique and not just simply fasting.
This post could easily have been titled: Fasting for 30 days: The effect on body, scientifically explained. (interesting facts on a day to day basis.)
Everything thereafter you could have just simply list the facts without cultural or religious references or overtones. It would be relatable by all of us and eliminate the overly sensitive PC climate we find ourself in.
You have not hurt anyone but if we all acted in kind, we would all be divided into our own camps. (national, progressive, liberal, black, white, jew, muslim, and christian). By touting the "muslim flag" you have separate yourself from us.
Here we are all eroids members and can use that as a common bond.
One post on Ramadan is enough in the general forum, this belongs in off topic. And I agree with Greg.
Might be a translation thing, but I really couldn't understand much of it.
I know, you're muslim, I get it. Muslim is the new black. Kudos.
But wearing your religion on your sleeve is not cool be you muslim, christian evangelist or Latter day saint.
My point is, this is a good post with lots of info about fasting. It could have just as easily been written without the religious overtone.
Food for thought -salaam
Sorry Greg, i am not here for preaching, basically my post belong to fasting effects on body, if my words or my tone hurt you than i apologize...all religion are respectable for me, next time i will be more careful brother..
I doubt if anyone is offended. But you've unnecessarily set up an "us and them" framework in your post. As you pointed out fasting crosses several cultures and religions, so why include a "your religion" educational piece to the topic?
Do you have a minute to talk about our lord and savior Jesus Christ’s view on bodybuilding?
