Separated AC Shoulder joint injury recently????
ad
I recently got a grade 2/3 AC joint injury while playing rugby...I couldnt move my arm for a week and its now been 3 weeks but I still cant flex my trap. Anyone have an injury like this and will it get better? Doctors said I dont need surgery. theres still a bump right on my trap from the bone.

I had the exact same thing happen when I was racing motocross. The separation wasn't severe enough to operate. The Dr. at the time told me it would develop arthritis over the years. Nothing like that but now and then it will crackle and pop.
It takes a little time to heal enough to really be mobile again but the good thing is it does heal if you don't push it.
The bump you have is your clavicle (collar bone) sticking up. Mine still does and that was about 20+ yrs ago. It does take time and yes it will heal.
Ask you dr to take an xray and to refer you to a specialist. Ive had times where i could not lift 5 pounds because i was in so much pain. I get cortisone injection they seem to help.
AnonI would always get a second opinion, i went to the ER for what i thought was a torn pec, they reffered me to sports medicine to get an MRI, sports medicine said i tore my pec but surgery wasnt needed, 2 months later my pec is deformed so I have an appointment to go to another specialist and it looks and feels like a tendon is separated from the bone and balled up under the pec, my right pec sticks out about 2 inches than my left and when i flex it, its sticks out really far and moves very freely, no pain but no strength pushing either.
