Dr wants to put me on trt
So i just seen my endo and he wants to put me on testosterone, he said that he'd like to see my total testosterone between 450-750. Do doctors usually use injections for trt or that angroderm roll on gell, and whats more effective for testosterone therapy? My main goal was to recover my natural test but it didnt look good to my doctor. If im put on trt i would still like to cycle but if by some miracle by god my natural comes up im going to stay away from aas forever. I have alot of thoughts running threw my head since the dr visit im just trying to research and ask as many questions i can about the process before deciding on anything. My main concern is he told me ill never be able to have kids. I dont have someone special in my life so theres no plans for me to have kids now but life goes forward, things happen and plans can change.

So when I was like 30 I had never used any steroids but I lost a ton of muscle, libido, loss of motivation all around feeling horrible. Went to endo, urologist, primary and eventually a hrt specialist. My endo swore I must have used steroids or asked if I had boxed because supposedly hits to your head can mess with your brain chemistry. Multiple blood test showed my total and free test extremely low. Long story short my hrt specialist ended up putting me on 3 months on/ 3 months off of androgel 1.62 at 2 pumps per day run with .25 mg clomid 20 days on 10 off so I didn't atrophy or shut down while I was on and my pituitary didn't get lazy. After 2 rounds I got tested after 3 months right before round 3 and my total test doubled from around 300 to about 600. Free test was in range as well. This was all in an attempt to kick start my natty production (not keep me on trt forever) and it worked for me until I went off on my own and started doing my own thing. 600 still didn't have me personally feeling good enough but the point is that there is hope for boosting your natty. Best of luck. As others have said. Find out the cause.
Are your stats current?
Post AAS history, please?
How many docs have assessed and evaulated you?
Have you been screened via any diagnostic technique that pin points any reasons for your low testosterone level? Would be better to know for your sake as well as docs before jumping to pharmaceutical concoctions regarding low T, like r/o tumors and acelluar tissue growths, etc....
Hitman187Im 30 now. Been using aas almost 4 years now (started at 27) always cycled off and did proper pct, then waited equal amount of time off to run again. Always kept my cycles in 12-16 week range except for the last one which i got stupidly carried away with and did 24. Actually felt ok after last cycle until i had a really bad infection that sent my body into septic shock and almost killed me. Dr told me the infection could have crashed my levels, and i believe it atleast played a part because after this happened i could notably feel the effects of low t.
Ive been seen by 2 primart doctors and 1 endo, and i have an appointment with another endo scheduled to get a second opinion before i make any decesions. So far there hasnt been any special screening or tests done, all their diagnosis came just from the blood work. The endo wants me to get more blood work done so he can see if the problem is comming from the pituitary or testes, but either way he said he'll most likely put me on testosterone.
He didnt even bring up any options for a natural recovery. I was the one who told him my preference would be to recover my natural test and asked him if there was any way. Then the only option he gave me was clomid, but he was skeptical about it working due to the amount of time i been off aas and me already running it.
I wasnt thrilled with the outcome of the visit, id atleast thought he'd try something to recover me naturally, rather than just putting me right on testosterone. I felt like he wasnt putting any effort into my recovery, thats why i made an appointment with a second endo to get a different opinion.
What was this all about? Did they isolate a bacterial, viral, or fungal pathogen with blood cultures? Did they give you any idea why you took such a major hit?
Thanks for providing info and medical Hx. Sounds like the doc is looking for etiology of low T and that's a good start. I wouldn't doubt it if your cycle Hx has played a role in your diagnosis. I hope the BW for testes/pituitary come back negative, bro. Keep us posted. Have you always pulled post PCT BW? I'd like to know at what point you might have discovered a "trending down" effect after each cycle. Plus, can you add to your Hx the compounds and dosages of your prior cycles?
Hitman187Hey brother i just posted my recent bloods if you dont mind taking a look.
I haven't been real thorough pulling post pct blood work last few cycles.
I didn't really feel like i was trending down until after this past cycle. Actually i felt somewhat ok for the most part after cycle, i didn't really notice the signs of low t until about January when i had this really bad infection that sent my body into septic shock and almost killed me. After that is when it really hit me. I also had heart surgery in November to replace my aortic valve, but i doubt thats played any role in this.
The highest ive ever ran test was 600mg/ wk
I ran tren 2x, 10 weeks this past cycle starting at 40mg ed and worked up to 80mg ed last few weeks.
I can do a full cycle history if helpful later today but rite now i dont have enough time to sit down and write it thoroughly.
Thanks for all your help and feedback
I'm following your situation, bro...
First off, sorry about any English mistakes I am going to make.
I researched A LOT about TRT. From my research so far I have gathered two things that keep repeating themselves many, many times (both by anecdotal case reports and by a small handful of studies).
1) Clomid does not do anything for you besides raising the values on a blood test. Probably because a) it induces hepatic expression of SHBG (which counteracts PARTLY its testosterone-upping benefit; after your new "setpoint" you might end up with just a slightly higher bioavailable T) and also b) because the SERM itself binds to estrogen receptors in many parts of your brain and makes you feel moody and depressed (similar symptoms as women experience during their menstrual period; which also counteracts the effects of any jump in bioavailable T you might get.) b) is the more important of the two.
2) TRT if done CORRECTLY does NOT impair fertility in the long term. IF DONE CORRECTLY it can even increase fertility (evidence provided by spermiograms both before and after 2 years). How? If you add 300-500iu HCG 2x a week the size of your testicles -and more importantly intratesticular TT levels- remain high and this enables you to come off rather easily anytime you want and inducing fertility is million times simpler compared to not having shot HcG concomitantly because of testicular atrophy (you might have to jump back on TRT again after fertility was restored and has fulfilled its purpose). To restore fertility you could use Clomid or Tamox for a few months to raise FSH which is important but not essential for sperm maturation and thus sperm quality. If your HPTA responds to clomifene/tamoxifen your endogenous LH/FSH should get spermatogenesis going and after 6 months (spermatogenesis takes 120 days to complete) you should be decently fertile again. If that doesn´t work you can always use recombinant LH and FSH (=HMG), which should get the job done, but this is rather expensive
However, TRT does impair sperm quality WHILE you are on TRT because elevated T levels (doesn´t matter if due to T injections or due HcG-induced) both indiscriminately suppress your GnRH and thus your FSH which is needed for the sertoli cells to help with sperm maturation (you are supplementing your LH with HcG so LH is not the problem. A cool thing though is HcG also has a slight affinity for the FSH-receptor and thus your sperm quality does NOT decrease too much even during TRT.)
Here is a study for you:

Also, check out excelmale.com and Nelson Vergel.
Hope this helps, all the best.
Hitman187Thanks for the feedback ill have to check those articles out.
Also, to play it safe you can always use clomid/tamox FIRST for a few months to improve sperm count, then get your sperm banked, then start TRT /w HcG (and maybe 0.25mg anastrozole 2x a week if you need it) and come off when you desire to father a child and after achieving this hop right back on
Here another more recent study https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25337850
I think that no kids this is a ton of b.s. unless you have a problem in that department already but if your worried like said below freeze some at a clinic. Look at Arnold Schwarzenegger he has I believe a 18 year old or so and how many years do you think he ran before that kid was conceived. My wife is pregnant right now and I was thinking no fucking way how the hell I was on test and tren e and wacking it like 3 times a day so I googled the hell out of it and I read a lot of guys that have been blasting and cruising for years and all there kids are healthy and conceived during that time so I wouldn't worry about it to much. I'll give a update for you though if my kid ends up being the ups guys or the mail man's good luck with your natural test bro hope you can kick it back on
Been on trt about 7 years started on androgel about 2 yrs later moved to test c was prescribed 200 mg weekly spoke to dr about having babies was told prob impossible because of duration I've been on I would have to come off completely and would need to be given Clomid and hcg treatment but he said in any case he has never seen someone not bounce back, always able to produce sperm again the hcg dose don't remember exactly what it was but remember it being very high I don't use protection in committed relationship and no pregnancy entire time since on therapy so pretty sure I'm not producing, the androgel worked well in beginning but was not enough the test c works very well .I drop the test c when using other forms of test throughout year, prob 6 mos out of year or so then use it to cruise between cycles
I have a friend that was on test for about 12 years then had a daughter. So saying you'll never have kids is bs
Get your sperm checked and if it's at a few million freeze it. This at least covers you in case the bad happens and you want to have children in the future which I recommend.
Best of luck what ever happens mate.
Hitman187Thats a good idea and one im definitely going to do if i have to be on trt. Thanks.
I'm with Mack, exhaust every option before resorting to trt. Trt is a huge decision. What was your natural test and lh at when he pulled bloods?
Hitman187My total test was 123.21 and i didnt see what my lh was. Im with you guys id much rather have my natty test, i hate having to be on a pill or any medicine the rest of my life and theres already a few im on, i dont wanna add to the list.
You're chances are slim to none on recovery. I'm right down there with you.
I'm no expert on fertility on trt but I'm sure it does not make it impossible. I'm sure it's 10 times more difficult as your natural levels are almost 0 if not zero while on TRT. But plenty of lifters I know I've managed to get girls pregnant while on cycle or TRT. i've never thought about having children myself so I never investigated their methods further. But it's something to look into.
Hitman187Yea my natural levels now are pretty close to zero, im sure theyd definitely drop to zero on trt.
Look up clomid therapy. It has been shown to up your natty level significantly. You can try that for a couple months and then wait a month and see where you stand. Endo will choose either gel or injections. It depends, if he wants you at those levels he might use the gel.
Hitman187Thanks mac im pretty familiar with clomid and its abilities to improve natural test levels but ill look it up some more, im sure theres alot i dont know. I may have to go to a different doctor for a second opinion. The first thing this doctor wanted to do was put me on testosterone, i was shocked, i thought he'd want to exhaust all possibilities first before putting me on test. I was the one who brought up wanting to restore my natural levels. He then brought up clomid but seemed skeptical given the time off, and said its harder to get clomid approved by insurance than test.
Fuck your insurance bro you pay them i had my ins company try not to cover one of my meds you just have to put up a fight and a few extra papers and they will cover it.
I wish you the best brother
