Looking for some quick advice first pin

ad

I think I know what's going on but I'd like some input.

I started my first cycle on Saturday, 1ml @ 250mg/ml test E, you can see the lab in the picture I posted, the plan was/is 250mg E3.5D, Saturday AM, Tuesday PM. I pinned my right quad with a 25g 1", cleaned the vial and site with pre injection wipes, was very careful not to let anything touch anything it shouldn't, took my time, went in nice and smooth, it was a little sore for maybe 30 mins then it was fine.

I did a couple of sets of light squats and my right quad felt a bit tight but didn't hurt. A few hours later I went to crouch but half way down my quad got tight but I couldn't stop myself and I think I pulled it, it hurt for a bit but eased, I had a slight limp. Over the rest of the day it got worse, by the night it hurt pretty bad, the pain wasn't at the injection site, it was just above my knee.

Sunday I could barely walk so I took it easy and it got a bit better, Monday I went to work but only lasted half a day, back home to rest it and Tuesday it was a good bit better but still hard to walk, I went to work again, at dinner time I was given a support bandage, I put it on and carried on working but it started getting bad again, now my knee and thigh were swollen, I took the bandage off and got sent home.

Today (Wednesday), my knee is still swollen but not quite as bad, there's slight redness on my knee and outer thigh, I can walk a lot better and it doesn't hurt unless I move it too much but it's still tender to touch. I've taken the day off to rest.

There's no sign of the injection site, there's no lump, no specific redness or bruising and it doesn't feel any hotter than my other leg, I know you can't say 100% without seeing it but this doesn't sound infected does it?

I was expecting pain with it being my first cycle but I think this is mainly nothing to do with the injection and mostly due to not resting an injury, stupid I know but I had good reasons to be at work!

Another update, after glutes I went back to quads, for the second pin in my right quad I moved it forward by a day to Friday so the worst day would be Sunday and I wouldn't miss work and only pinned .6ml (150mg), I still got PIP but nowhere near as bad as the first time around, I had no problems walking and had the worst day been a work day I would have had no problems going to work.

Tuesday PM I pinned .8ml (200mg) into my left quad, same again, still had PIP, maybe slightly worse than right quad but still nowhere near as bad as the first time, I had no problems going to work.

So now I'm confident the crippling PIP was due to virgin muscle and I'll have no worries going back to 1ml (250mg) next time quads come around.

As of today I'm back to 1ml in my right glute, I don't think the two short doses have set me back much, if at all, I can definitely feel it doing its thing, weights are getting lighter and I feel like I've got a semi-pump all the time.

I do have a different brand on its way so I'll try that also, but I'm going to try one more rotation of sites with the gear I already have to see if it has improved any more, now I know it's not going to come with downtime!

Your attitude is great (being open minded and listening to the veterans here) and your determination is impressive. +1 from me as well. Keep us posted!

+2 for sticking with it.

You seem like a determine little bugger, so it might work out for you after all, some of us had our doubts.

Carry on.

Had the feeling as though someone slammed me in the quad with a 20lb hammer when I pinned my quad. It was like that for 3 days. I worried about infection etc but it was fine... I put it down to virgin muscle. I won't do it again because I squat a lot and I like squatting and for me squatting with what feels like a dead leg is a no.

No problems with my glutes though.

gtpimp's picture

Quads are tough I had a bad experience couldn't walk right for two weeks! Stick to glutes! Or start with .5cc and work your way up.. I know it's scary at first but you'll be fine.

Rob83's picture

Pinned my right glute this morning, I tried for ventro glute but got the pin half way in and it didn't feel right so I pulled out, put a fresh one on and went glute instead, I'll see how that feels in 24-36 hours, it seems for me at least that the second day after is the worst.

gtpimp's picture

Ventro is a weird one. After I found it, it's my favorite spot because that muscle doesn't get stressed in every day life plus it can handle 3cc of gear! I lay on my back and throw one leg over the other and the muscle pops up! Make sure you are pinning with 1.5" needle for glutes. You can use 1" for almost anything else.

What happened to

So I'm off work AGAIN!! If every virgin muscle is going to give me this much pain I'm gonna have to quit, that'll be another 2 weeks off work which I just can't do.

Now

Pinned my right glute this morning, I tried for ventro glute but got the pin half way in and it didn't feel right so I pulled out,

Numerous member "in high standing" suggested trying a different brand/lab, because something in the gear didn't agree with you, ie : BA, BB, carrier oil, but nope, you poke yourself in the ass and go for round 2.

Sigh,......................you may be your own worst enemy.

ETA: Virgin muscle is NOT desensitize with one shot.

It was also suggested that I try glutes, I'm planning on getting a different brand but even if I ordered it as soon as it was suggested it wouldn't have been here in time for today, or probably even my next jab, so it was worth trying something else in the meantime.

I'm not expecting pip to be nonexistent on the second jab of any particular muscle, but it has been suggested that it gets better, which can be assumed won't happen if I don't do it.

KMC's picture

Yes, glutes maybe better,......... so much so that instead of being off work for 2 weeks (as with quads), you may only miss one week with glutes.

Well I can't walk again! Woke up at 2am with incredible pain in my left quad, I've been keeping codeine beside the bed since this started so I took a few and didn't get back to sleep till after 5.

So I'm off work AGAIN!! If every virgin muscle is going to give me this much pain I'm gonna have to quit, that'll be another 2 weeks off work which I just can't do. Would it be worth switching to test cyp? I imagine if there's something in test e I'm having a particularly bad reaction to it's not going to be the ester and will probably be in test cyp as well.

Drock_357's picture

Missing work and taking narcotics cuz u want to pin some test?....cmon man

Rob83's picture

Not because I wanted to pin some test, because I had already done it, I didn't know it was going to be so bad, first time I put down to an injury, so second time I had to stay off was a surprise as well because I had taken it easy.

Third jab is fine so far, there's some pain but nowhere near the same as pinning quads so work isn't going to be a problem.

Drock_357's picture

Lol no doubt

I don't know where you're getting your gear, but at some point you may have to look in that direction.
Not bashing any source.... Just looking at it logically.

Makwa's picture

Switching esters won't matter, test e or c pretty much the same thing. You need to try switching brands. You might be allergic to the carrier oil or the solvents etc in the current brand you are using. This is why when I try out a new label I don't go apeshit and buy 10 vials of this or that cause even if it is on sale and good price I am still wasting money if I can't even pin it because of pip.

Just a general note to all new users, I would recommend having on hand a couple of different brands so if one is giving you fits you can switch it out. Happened to me one time so far. Top shelf brand of test e I bought apparently had a bad batch with to much BA in it and gave me the worst test flu and pip I have ever experienced. Two pins was all it took before I trashed it and switched and then smooth sailing from then on.

Rob83's picture

I figured changing ester wouldn't help, never mind!

I'll try ventro glute tomorrow and get an order in for a different brand to try, thanks.

KMC's picture

Not long ago,....... You would have been told " Rub a little dirt on it ".

But because of advancement in modern medicine, we don't tell you that anymore.

The swelling has gone down a good bit today, when I flex my right quad around the injection site looks swollen but there's barely any pain, wouldn't really call it pain, more like slight discomfort!

First pin on the left quad is exactly what I was expecting, felt like a punch in the leg last night, just feels tight today unless I flex, then the punch is there again, happy days!

Thanks for the heads up on using more sites, I could have sworn I'd read each site once a week was the way to go and multiple sites were for ED or EOD use. Although even if that was the case, I don't think I'd be comfortable going for my right quad again on Saturday!

I think I've found my ventro glutes, a search shows up a few different possible locations and various techniques for locating them, but after a bit of flexing in the mirror I think I have it, I guess I'll find out on Saturday!

PIP happens to virgin muscle, which is what sounds like happened.

Rob83's picture

Using an online calculator so probably not accurate, 14%, it does sound about right

Thanks for the input, I went ahead with the second pin this morning, so half a day late, last night I wasn't sure it was a good idea so skipped it, but with it being so much better today I figured I'd go for it, I'll just be careful with my legs for a while and I'll see how my left quad handles it!

It'll get better...

Be sure to rotate injection sites.

Spotinjection.com

This link should help you locate some more and keep a log of what you're injecting and where along with when. Also weight gain and increased in strength. And don't forget bloods at week six. What's your pct look like

Rob83's picture

I'm planning on only pinning quads to start with, alternating between pins, so Saturday is right quad, Tuesday is left. I intend on using medichecks for bloods, I was going to do it at week 4 but if 6 is better I'll do that.

For pct I have nolva and intend to do 40/40/20/20, I don't have clomid yet, but intend on getting some and doing 50/50/50/50, I'm a bit worried about the sides of clomid that's why I'm planning on 50 all the way through instead of starting at 100, I may try 100 and see how it goes, my eyesight is very important to me.

fusebox's picture

Only pinning quads is a terrible idea. You should have a minimum of six sites for biweekly pins. And I'd definitely be getting some clomid. You shouldn't start a cycle until you have everything on hand. Pct meds and adex/aro so if sides pop up you can get it under control quickly.
