+ 16 Driving people away

ad

I'm just going to come out and say it, some of you guys are starting to be very close minded with your cycle advice. You see something a little out of the ordinary and it's wrong, the op is a fool etc. Quite often you may well be right, but not always. It becomes like a pack of wolves sometimes. Some people see it as hostile and unwelcoming.

Let me give you an insight here. If I created a new account and posted up a cycle I've personally run in the past, some of you would immediately jump on it as "wrong" or "not how we do it". A strong man competitor comes along and hears "must be single digit BF to run gear". Fighter running just halo "shouldn't do oral only cycles". Is everyone that doesn't do it "the eroids way" wrong? Then I'm often also wrong.

There are pros in my gym that I think their cycles are a mess. But guess what? It works for them. So is it wrong? Is "different" the same as "wrong"? Don't misinterpret this as defending some of the lunacy I see, there will always be idiots, and a pretty reasonable quantity of them too. If something is a mess, say so, I will, but be receptive to the op's train of thought on why they're doing this. We're starting to get very closed minded in my opinion, to the extent where OUR learning is hampered.

I think we need to look closely at the way we handle these situations, we ARE driving people away. Some of them will be a waste of oxygen, but not all of them. I still want to learn, I still want my game to improve. Hell I need my game to improve if I'm going to achieve what I set out to do in the next couple of years. What I see day in day out isn't developing, it's standing still. Some of the new blood that walks through the door could be a catalyst, (unintentional pun), to that learning.

So what am I saying? Take a step back, the steroid world is bigger than eroids. Not doing things our way isn't a crime. Disagreeing with our advice isn't wrong. Someone posts a stupid cycle, sometimes you can help them by gently steering them rather than "WTF is this bro?". Most of us has run bullshit cycles, a lot of us have run good cycles and got them wrong. The reality of the world of AAS is there's hardly any black and white, it's 95% grey areas.

Dickkhead's picture

OTOH, though, I see value in taking this community through some "advanced" (I don't like that word because it almost sounds pompous) cycles and protocols so everyone learns how they are done effectively and how risks are controlled.

To be blunt, there are thousands of internet pages devoted to the use of slin in bodybuilding. A lot of what has been written is downright dangerous as well as ineffective. Would it be better to offer some sanitized information here for people to follow from those of us that use insulin - or continue to say we don't want to talk about it so go Google it and good luck.

We both know that done properly, the risks are minimal. So where does the eroids community find out what done properly means?

Catalyst's picture

That's very true mate.

Pale's picture

You are right and it may be time to reconsider.

Gymjunkie01's picture

I try to ask the guy posting the cycle what his reasoning is and why he is running the proposed compounds to meet his goal. this way I can see if the guy is a complete idiot or just needs some guidance in tweeking the cycle before I start dishing out advice

guitarplayer1's picture

Personally I think it's the other way around. The unwillingness to take any criticism about the cycle at hand has driven some great members away from the cycle section and also this site. We have guys that if they walk over a sewer grate may fall in, running more gear than men 50-100 lbs more than them. When I joined up here 2 years ago there was a plethora of knowledgeable members who would share their advice and wisdom, now there are a handful left and from the looks of it they are getting burnt out too, and who can blame them?

Catalyst's picture

I think that's also true. I've certainly had moments where I've thought "I've had enough". Unfortunately the lack of ability to take criticism is common these days.

guitarplayer1's picture

Well I'm sure once your 100% back on your feet, with a gym to run, a body to repair and the calories you need to consume we won't be seeing much of you around.

All the co-signing they need is in the SI's anyways, where most end up.

I'm pretty much back on my feet mate. That was merely a scratch ;)

Lol - I am. Casein shake before bed. Was just thinking I was hungry though.....

Pale's picture

I agree with you bro and have recently said as much. Sometimes guys just seem to be falling over themselves to shoot a guy down. I don't even think they necessarily realize when they are doing it. But even I don't ask or really share what I am personally doing in the forums here. It does get to be like a public shaming at times.

For the sake of discussion tho I will say I am running bayer primo amps (which are close to 1.5ml) EOD with only my self administered cruise dose of 200cyp. Everything I have ever read says primo needs to be run at 800+ per week. So what? I am the turtle, just getting my feet wet and trying to feel each and every AAS I use for its own traits. Plus that primo is the thickest oil I have ever used!

As far as the rest of the craziness below, what little I have read has me shaking my head at you junior high schoolers, lol

rolltide3's picture

So what? I am the turtle,

Just for u pale I will be the rabbit send me all your primo and I'll test it for u Lmfao. Not in junior high but does it matter I have a junior high edumaction?

Great post. We do have our share of idiots on here, but there are also some seasoned veterans with a wealth of knowledge. I try to pick up what I can from them, and ignore the others. I have been at this over 20 years and the one thing I have learned is that what works for me, might not work for others. Everyone seems to respond differently to different compounds. Obviously you have your foundation products, ex. Test. But, for example, I get fantastic results from a Test / Deca cycle. I have friends who take the same Deca and don't get near as much from it as I do, but they swear by EQ or something else that doesn't do much for me. I guess you just have to figure out what compounds and what amounts work for you, which is all done through trial and error. Seems like it is a continuing educational process. Best of luck friends.

HllwdBdBoy's picture

Personal rule of thumb is EVERYONE is an idiot until proven otherwise... Show some knowledge and consistency and EARN the respect... I thinks its less about "the eroids way" and more about the "anonymous virtual world way" ...there is nothing "quick" about this lifestyle so if you don't have the patience to earn your gains (whether its size, strength or respect) then you are already going down the wrong path

Exactly, we aren't made into giants in 12 weeks, this is a culmination of years...

I agree with that 100% it takes years of hardwork and dedication

I think A lot of people want to put their stamp on a cycle/topic/post instead of sharing what worked for them and why. Facts are facts of course but often people preach what worked for them as science.

There has been a massive influx of bullshit, trolls and kids over the past months which makes it hard for you guys trying to work with them, not to straight shoot on site.

My hats off to you freaks in the cycle log trenches on the daily digging in to help and share knowledge, you know who you are.

Catalyst's picture

That's a great point mate, there has been a lot of idiots / retreads recently. We've said it before, but it makes it real tough wading though it in the cycles and the logs.

TheFlash85's picture

how bout a competition? theres 7 days in a week, so, each day, someone puts a post up, the most imformative post at the end of the week gets lets say 25 karma, people are lacking substance? a post in off topic, 7 people selected at random, no matter of level, karma or length of time here? you simply post your name in the thread just like in some promos? the 7 picked get a day assigned to them, they post, at end of week, winner is announced, this would encourage new info, new discussions and let some new guys shine, pick out some "catalysts".

this kind of thing is more positive than picking out whores and douches??

just an idea guys.

Pale's picture

Needs refinement but I like the general idea.

Catalyst's picture

That right there is a very good post. +2

I still, however, need the following before I can comment further. Stats, diet........ ;)

stang77's picture

Great post! I also see a lot of this, people bashing others because that's not how they do it .truth is what works well for one may not work so well for the other .

Catalyst's picture

That is true. I often train with a guy whose diet is wrong and his cycles are often wrong. Only positive I can say is he trains more intensely than anyone I know. I've stood on the same stage as this guy. The same guy that eats pizza twice a week, runs 10wk EQ cycles and various other "wrong" stuff. He beat me fair and square.....

dothework29's picture

I couldn't agree more. Once you think you know it all you quit learning... but at the same time if you know someone is inexperienced and doing something that is going to hurt them you should let them know. Nice write up bro.

Catalyst's picture

Very true. That's why all I've learned at work in the last couple of years is how to become more cynical and obnoxious Smile

rolltide3's picture

Honestly I don't post hardly anymore. It seems to me most of the cycle advice people want are the same questions day after day. It's clear that most people post a forum asking a question without any time spent researching for an answer. Day after day the same questions. There's always an outside the box thinker and those forums are great but I'd say 90 percent of the forums are roughly the same questions that have been answered 1000 times before. We need more forums about ideas. There's a few eriods warriors that post great forums. We need fresh voices and ideas to me it's gotten very stale

Pale's picture

That isn't a problem that is unique to Eroids, every forum on the internet has the same issues. The flip side of that coin is if nobody ever asks questions how much fun will that be. When everybody wises up and uses the search feature it can get pretty damn boring. I have seen it happen on other forums.

Catalyst's picture

That's a big part of it Roll, new members can be a factor to change that.

rolltide3's picture

The question becomes how do u separate these guys that could breath new ideas I to eriods from all the other trolls or Just plain dumb people. Most time just reading a forum that makes no sense we start asking tough questions well right off the bat they think we are picking on them or been mean. It's a tough task sometimes to separate great from bad

Catalyst's picture

Definitely. I think it's something that gradually comes out and is rarely immediately apparent. Because of the number of dipshits, our stance now seems to be to assume the worst. "They posted a dumb cycle, it's a troll, let 'em have it" type of approach.

I'd like to see the assumptive position switch. Half full rather than half empty. If they prove to be in the dipshit category, go for it, but a position of giving the benefit of the doubt would be more beneficial to everyone in my eyes.

rolltide3's picture

I don't know how many times I've seen a new guy post a forum that from the outside made no sense. Then members here come and ask the tough question only to see the op respond with an insult to a member here. Well all this does is create more confusion and drives both sides apart. It's a tough task keeping our safety stance and not making the op feel threatened. The only idea I have is we as a community answer no questions on a forum for newer members until all stats, goals, experience ,training and all the needed info is there but even this can make a Newbie defensive. In text it's hard to determine someone's intent and I truly think this is where the majority of the problems come from and other sites don't have this problem as they will answer anything without any knowledge of the op. Maybe the mods can create something like they did for reviews where a newer person under so many karma would have to fill out all the info before been able to post a forum. Example: training experience, diet, aas experience, your current personal goals and so on so it shows up on there forum. This would help so much with not making a Newbie feel threatened

Pale's picture

When they start insulting the gloves come off. fair enough?

Makwa's picture

This should be required reading just like the rules are.

https://www.eroids.com/forum/steroids-qa/steroid-cycles/so-you-want-cycl...

TheFlash85's picture

lol thats forum protocol anyway, its a neccesity, if they dont post that shit up when asked, they can get too fuck, and if they insult members, they can get too fuck, mouths on twigs! imo. lol

In a promo × 1
Makwa's picture

Thanks for bringing us back to earth. I think part of the problem is the OP's fault also for not providing enough info. They throw up a cycle for instance that consists of var and halo only and then look for feedback. Initial feedback of course is going to be are you crazy, you need test in that cycle etc. etc. So then everyone blasts. Now I come in and ask for stats, what their diet and training is like and what are trying to accomplish with this cycle. Then they spill the beans for instance that they are a fighter in a weight restricted sport that gets tested for AAS so they need fast clearing drugs etc. Now if we would have known that in the first place I don't think there would have been as much blasting of that cycle because we all would have known the circumstances right away. Basically my motto is no stats, no goal, no training or diet info then no advice. Politely ask for it and proceed from there. If I am going to put some effort into it the OP should be willing to also.

Catalyst's picture

Absolutely. One of the battles we face is that other sites often don't bother from what I've seen. Those folks then become accustomed to saying I'm 30, 180lbs, make me a cycle and they get it. When we start with the whole "stats, diet, goals, cycle history" they get defensive as if we're prying into their life too much.

The whole stat situation should NEVER change. Maybe some could get better and weeding out some obviously bullshit stats in places.....

Catalyst's picture

No. That's 100% the way we roll. I'm just explaining why I believe sometimes it's taken wrongly, because others don't do the same. I can't ever imagine a time where our stance on that should change. I certainly won't be a part of it should that be the case.

If they are not prepared to give that info, no help.

seriously, this is a great forum and we need good ideas not insults toward others. U and your goin around acting like your better than people and correcting grammar is old as Hell. This is the shit that drives people away.the shit your doin right here. Holy Fuck I was posting in here now I'm fucking done posting. I'm to old for petty ass drama. THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH ERIODS.
